We stopped to get ice cream with our granddaughter. I have always enjoyed Stewart's ice cream and I like that sprinkles are free. I felt it was a good size portion for about $2.75. The rainbow sherbet got rainbow sprinkles for my granddaughter and my coffee ice cream got chocolate sprinkles. The outside walkway was pretty well cleared of snow and ice. I'm an Amazon employee and a frequent flyer at least 3-4 times a week in this establishment. She is always doing the most from answering phones to making pizzas to waiting on customers at the register to making sandwiches. She is always on the move always smiling and greeting. I stopped at Stewart's this past weekend for gas, and I used my credit card at the pump. Did you know that they put a $150.00 hold on your Card when you use it at the pump? it didn't affect me in any way, but I find that disturbing. I will no longer go there for gas. read more

Stewart's has the best ice cream for your money. They have all kinds of flavors to choose from and I've never had a bad flavor. Their portion sizes are not consistent, it just depends on who's working. Sometimes you get generous portions, others you get a little, which can be a bit disappointing. Do not order a shake from here. Their shakes have very little ice cream and a ton of milk. If you want a glass of flavored milk, then you might like their shakes. Also the milk they use is room temperature, so don't expect it to be very cold. read more

I'm going to admit that I'm a native of the capital district of NY and Stewart's are EVERYwhere there, so I may be a bit biased, as I grew up with Stewart's but here goes.... First, free air for you car tires - that's rare to find these day! Two, their ice cream is the bomb AND it's still a true half gallon! Three, you can totally sample ice cream flavors at the ice cream counter before committing to a flavor. Their hot fudge sundaes and shakes are delicious! The scoops in a sundae are generous and their hot fudge and whip cream - delish! Their coffee has a reputation of being really good. We stopped here for tire air and gas. They have free air with the coolest tire air pump. You set the psi you want and it fills the tire to your determined psi and then automatically stops! Maybe we are behind on this technology but it was really awesome! Also, their window washer solution was nice, clean and blue! read more

Oh man, as the other reviewer said -- what really blew me away at Stewart's Shop was their free air. Not only ANY free air, but with an electronic PSI system that you automatically configure for the tire pressure you want. After that, all you have to do is latch it on your tires and it will do its magic automatically pumping up your car to the pre-configured PSI. It's so simple and it works so much better than the older outdated paid air pumps you see at other gas stations. Other than the air, the shop itself has coffee, ice cream, sandwiches and snacks. Today I just discovered that Stewarts offers free air to fill car tires. What's the big deal about this? Ordinarily, air pumps at gas stations are notoriously under-maintained, have no pressure read out nor auto cut-off for when the tires have achieved a set pressure. Also, the hoses leak, the apparatus is filthy and noisy. Stewarts has a very clean, attractive wall mounted hose and air control system. Press a button ( blue or red) to set your desired tire pressure. This pressure is clearly visible on a display. Take the nozzle, attach to the tire valve stem and wait for the tone to tell you that the tire has been filled to the proper pressure. This stuff tasted like a chemical bomb laden w artificial everything: there is no way it consists of wholesome ingredients without additives. Some of the names for flavors are described with thoughtfulness and wit, with an occasional hint of (tongue-in-cheek) humor: "Crumbs Along the Mohawk" comes to mind. (I've heard rumored that my personal favorite, "Adirondack Bear Paw," is being discontinued to make room for another, newer label; a disappointment, for sure!) Stewart's grocery items are packed with plastic bags that are far superior in quality to what grocery supermarkets give to their customers. A small and inconsequential matter, perhaps, but for those of us who are bothered by needing to recycle grocery bags upon receipt because their cheaply made quality renders them full of holes after carrying a single batch of some groceries, and thus useless for any further use; in contrast, Stewart's grocery bags are durable and I've found uses for them which allow me to reuse a single bag multiple times for varying purposes. Everything about Stewart's, in my estimation, speaks of quality merchandise and prompt and customer-friendly service. The staffs at their stores, by observation, appear to like working for their employer, given what seems to be consistently courteous attitudes. Their extensive daily hours of operation are yet another convenience, making them a respectable and useful addition to almost any neighborhood. My only regret is that they're presently scarce in my neck of the woods: and while the round-trip drive from my home on the east side of Syracuse can take 45 min - 1 hr., were it not for the superb ice cream, I wouldn't expend the time and gasoline, nor accept having to face the irritant of traffic, if Stewart's was just another in a lengthy line of chain / quick-stop grocery stores & gasoline retailers. read more

I'm a regular loyal customer at Stewart's, but not at this particular location. Tonight we stopped and purchased milkshakes as we passed through Liverpool, 5 milkshakes in total. There were two woman working behind the counter, both woman looked like they had just rolled out of bed, their hair was unkept and not secured back, and to top it off both were very unfriendly and unpleasant. The obvious annoyance in both their voices was extremely noticeable. It took almost 15 minutes to make the milkshakes, and for as long as it took the girls to weigh each and every individual milkshake, every single one of them tasted like and had the texture of 1% chocolate milk. For $16.00 I could have bought 4 gallons of chocolate milk for the quality received. On a side note, I had lots of time to look around and I noticed the food available to grab and go was extremely old. The hot dogs looked like they had been on the rollers since last week. I opened the top of one of the soups/noodles and it was extremely dried out and smelled terrible(maybe burnt). Cleanliness inside was also way below standards from what I am use to seeing when I visit my local Stewarts. Food and crumbs all over the tables, coffee spilt all around the coffee area along with sugar on the floor and counters. All in all I'm extremely disappointed and will probably never return to this particular location unless my vehicle runs out of gas right in front of the store and I'm unable to push it across the street. read more
