WOW, I thought it was crazy how they've eliminated so many other brands and Wegmans is pretty much almost all you find in certain sections. I came today to grab something quick to eat so I didn't grab a shopping cart because the check out is right near the tables. I also grabbed a small sample cup in anticipation of paying and sitting down. We'll NO CASHIERS....IT WAS CLOSED. I have to trek all the way back to the front cashier while juggling my items. Of course I dropped something. The employees were sincerely apologizing for the inconvenience and I was told I'm not the first to express my annoyance. I want to specifically put a "shout out" to Wegman's on Rt. 57, or Oswego Road ! I had an enormous amount of returnables from bottled water and other returnables. With COVID 19 precautions, drinking fountains are closed and bottled water is the way to go to keep my students and student athletes hydrated to learn and play lax safely. This Wegmans has the best place to return items! It is not in the entrance of the store (like Rt. 31 Wegs). It has its own little room complete with sink, paper towels, soap, a plethora of recycling scanners and a strict two people on even at a time policy. Saturday being a big day for returning recyclables, two workers came from the front customer service desk to tidy up the stacks of items not sold at Wegmans and just unreturnable bottles (like ice tea, Gatorade and the like). I only there 5 minutes when the two workers flew in and made the area completely "Wegmans clean". People at the customer service desk never receive accolades or recognition. I spoke with the front end manager and told them this YELP! was coming. These workers rocked it in a store that has great systems and procedures of safety and cleanliness ! I recently moved to my new house and needed a new grocery store. I love Wegmans, so naturally I had to find the closest one. I have reviewed a previous one before, not my favorite location. But this location...wow! I love everything about it. I like wide parking lots as opposite long (going away from building). Even around the big holidays, it doesnt seem like a crowded parking lot. Now onto the store itself. Im not used to a large variety of products, so this took me a minute to look at everything. Stocked so well and neatly. Everything looked so bright and clean. All the Wegmans employees I came across were friendly and helpful. That's not much of a surprise to me, though. I rarely have an issue with them at other locations. Overall, the store looks good (updated), they maintain it well, they do as good as they possibly can keeping stocked shelves. I believe this will be my main grocery store from now on. read more

I've been going here for almost three years now. I'm so frustrated. We've bought ribs several times and had to return or throw them out because they smelled of sulfur. Sometimes even if we buy them and try to make them that day. Their produce is often sparse and sometimes everything is bruised or even rotting. I've cut open onions that have been bad. The other day celery had weird black bumps. They also don't sell normal brands. They don't carry all the Campbell soup for example. They try to push their brand on you. All the red meat that we've bought from Wegmans stinks! The meat are rotten! It does not matter the brand or exact meat type. We've experienced the rotten smells ranging from beef, pork, to more premium meat like lamb and the very expensive D'Artagnan venison tenderloin. I lived in Maryland for 4 years and when a Wegmans finally popped up, I purposely drove 45 minutes to shop at it. It was like receiving a hug from home. This location is one of the mid-sized locations, not the smallest but not the biggest. It is usually a little less busy than other locations, so that's a plus. I frequently get their subs (buffalo chicken finger is my favorite), and they offer plenty of ready-to-go meals. Their departments are always well stocked and it's extremely rare that they don't have something I want or need. They have a great deli department, their pharmacy is fast and efficient, and they have a great floral section for a grocery store. Their prices can be slightly higher than other stores, but the quality of product is better, as is the experience of shopping there. Employees are always friendly and seem happy, and they always have plenty of cash register lines open. Wegmans is simply the best grocery store that there is. read more

I have been to many different Wegmans stores and I am never disappointed! This particular store is extremely convenient and has just about everything you need. Its somewhat newer as it was remodeled quite a few years ago. So the exterior is one of the nicest looking of any of their stores. Inside you will find everything merchandised perfectly. What I mean by that, is that you rarely find yourself getting frustrated because you cant find that one ingredient you need. They have quite a few different food options that are all extremely tasty. They have the wokery, the pizza shop, the sub shop, salad bar, and the home-style bar. All of their foods are very delicious. I highly recommend their pizza or wokery myself. When your not feast on delicious foods, they have a full seating area for you to relax with friends and family. For the most part you will find that the customer service at Wegmans is top notch. On occasion you get a meh person, but if you think that is out of the ordinary then you haven't been to many grocery stores. Everyone has a bad day after all. They also employ a lot of younger people which I highly respect. It gives younger people more options besides fast food and they can learn life skills there too. This is my local supermarket, and I make frequent visits at all hours of the day and night. I love that they are 24 hours, except for my favorite part, the sandwich section, which closes at 9 PM The 14" Hero is not even 9 dollars and I can feed of it for an entire day. Get the Wegmans assorted with comes with ham, turkey and roast beef. The only reason it's not a 5 STAR Wegmans is because the one further our east in Dewitt has a much better selection of fresh fish and meats, so I know this one by me isn't "as good as it gets," but I love it nonetheless. Im also a big fan of the cheese selection, olive bar, and the coffee. Like all the Wegmans' I've seen, the organic section is pretty awesome, too. This is one of the very few supermarkets who's house Brand I stick with because they have yet to steer me wrong. Everything is quality and, in my opinion, fairly priced. The service from the staff is amazing. I've forgotten purchased items at the register and returned to be granted a free one in exchange. I can't leave out the beer fridge in the back.. Really, only supermarket to shop at in all of Liverpool as far as I'm concerned. I do the BJ's thing too, but its just for bulk items. Wegman's is where the quality ingredients come from. read more

It's Wegman's......that pretty much says it all!! I have drank from the well of koolaid that is Wegman's and love this place!! Amazing food whether it be in the grocery areas, produce, prepared foods, or the cafe. We go here all the time just for a meal in the cafe. It is great since everyone can get what they like (subs, pizza, wraps, salad bar, Chinese, sushi, etc etc, etc). The people are awesome, the service is amazing (I really do want to go in and ask some one to literally bend over backwards....I half believe they would do it), the quality is great, and the prices really are great. People always say Wegman's is more, but no they really aren't unless you are looking for some very specific very low crappy item that is just not something they would carry. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with Wegmans. They carry an awesome selection of Store Brand goods and a good selection of Name Brands. I love their produce, organic, and natural food selection. Wegmans has come a long way over the years. I don't understand why corporate decided to build a scaled down version of their Superstore when they opened this one some 10 years ago. Which is right next door to their old location. Now for the hate part of my relationship with Wegmans. It appears to be that when ever a Name Brand does really well at their stores, they come out with a Store Brand version a few cents cheaper. Then the next thing you know, Wegmans no longer carries the Name Brand. Finally, you are left with no choice but to purchase the inferior quality Store Brand. Therefore, if there is some brand that you are absolutely loyal to, you have to shop around to find it. Okay so this is my local Wegmans. I live about the same distance from this one as I do from the one on rt 31. This one is newer having been built next door to the older Wegmans it replaced a few years back. When they were building it I was so hopeful it was going to be a Mega Wegmans like the one in Dewitt but while it is bigger and brighter than the old store and than the one on 31 it does not have the same wide selection as the Dewitt store. And no carving station like at the Dewitt and Taft Rd stores. :( I do love that it has the sushi the hot chinese and hot and cold salad bar. It has everything I need for my weekly shopping ....which is why I can never figure out why I am in here almost daily and their Bakery, Produce Meat and Seafood section along with a large Health food section makes it the best choice of all the stores in the area. This is by far my favorite Wegmans within the entire Syracuse and surrounding areas. They always have everything in stock, the foods are always fresh and the prices are always good. They offer a large selection of gluten free products as well as organic items. One of the best place inside though is the sub shop! Talk about generous portions of delicious ingredients. You will NOT be let down if you get a classic sub there. They also have fresh, daily made sushi of you are in to that sort of thing. Who could forget about the bakery. From the fresh made breads(try the Tuscan Garlic) to the doughnuts to the cakes/pies, it is all delicious and priced fairly. If you're having a sweet tooth craving, make sure you try the chocolate peanut butter pie. They offer it in both 10" and 4"(great for two!) sizes. In the past month and a half, I bought and took home 3 items that were opened. Plastic peeled back on my hummus, cover peeled back on a thing of spices and a slice in the top of my ice cream carton. I now look every item over thoroughly before buying. Also, many items have expiration dates soon after purchase. And they don't have near as many vegan options as the DeWitt store does. read more

What can you say about Wegmans....IT IS SIMPLY AWESOME! As a longtime resident of NYC, the equivalent of Wegmans in the five boroughs would be Wholefoods or Fairway Market. The difference? The Prices! Wegmans is a neighborhood supermarket, with decent prices, that just rises to a better standard. Their selection of ethnic specialty food is impressive, the cheese shop is fantastic, and the natural food section is a mini health food store all by itself. Lots of fresh fruits and veggies including uncommon ones (at least in Upstate NY) like star fruit, ugly fruit, and white raspberries. They also have a great bakery with all kinds of fresh breads, cookies, pastries, and more! My favorite is the cheese bread. And of course the star of the place is the Market Cafe. Anything you can think of including a sub shop, pizza, sushi, Chinese, Indian, Thai, Italian, pastas, soups, and hot and cold salads are here for you to choose from. The only reason I hesitate to give Wegman's the full 5 stars is because I would like to see a wider selection of vegan, dairy-free, and meatless options. read more

Definitely my favorite Wegman's of all the locations. I like how it is laid out, and the staff and patrons seem to be the nicest. It is always very clean, and the bathrooms are very kid friendly. Which I think most of them are. The bakery is awesome, our favorites include the wide assortment of donuts and bagels and specialty cakes. Everything in the bakery is delicious. At this location, they focus on moving the lines through quickly, by adding free standing registers and offering to cash out at the service desk during peak hrs. I also like that all of the check out/shopping lanes are big enough for the children's car carts. These carts are the biggest perk when bringing children to Wegman's. My 3yo loves this experience, along with the bakery, and begs to go to Wegman's. Anytime we travel we miss it! Any one visiting Syracuse would be missing out if they didn't go to Wegman's. read more

I despise Wegmans. They are constantly dropping more and more name brands in order to stock only their own. While I realize that this is their right, most people agree that having a choice of which brand to purchase is an important part of the shopping experience, and cuts down on having to go to multiple stores to get everything they need. The dairy section in this location is consistently out of of stock on yogurt, pudding, and half and half. Do they not have stock people in the dairy department? And for a store that is open 24 hours a day, why do they insist on only stocking the shelves during peak hours, when customers must struggle to get around the stock carts? The cashiers are another problem. Many are quite rude, and most need to go to remedial bagging school. For example, who teaches these cashiers to put the bread at the bottom of the bag, then pile all of the canned goods on top of it? I will go out of my way to visit another grocery store before I will succumb to the frustration that comes from shopping at Wegmans. read more

I would go here all the time up until 2009 when we moved back west. It was 24/7 and right across the street from where we lived. So we went there for like 3-4 years basically. Great store loved the atmosphere. Prices were good for the quality. I miss all the little breads and those little cappuccino milks from the local dairy up front, man they were good! I did all of our holiday meal shopping, baby food shopping, etc... at this store. I had no complaints about the store other than it was hard to find cilantro at times (big mexi-food fan here!) but that is typical in NY compared to Cali where I was from. Miss going there and haven't really had a good grocery store experience since while in California or Seattle Wa. Wish it wasn't so humid, snowy, and far away! Wegman's come to the west coast! It was just 8:30 pm on a Monday night. Most of the cashiers were not cashing people out. I accidentally walked down an aisle that was 7 items or less. I thought I was headed into a 15 or less, but I was wrong. I was rudely told to go to the next aisle because I had too many items. Since I am normally on top of "rules", I proceeded to the next aisle. Now, the cashier in the 15 items or less line was profusely apologizing for aisle #2's rudeness. Of course, then I started counting my items and realized I was at 17...she didn't mind and apologized again for her fellow cashier. Just which I paid attention to their names, but thanks aisle #3 and aisle #2...you might think about looking for a job not in customer service. Thanks for pissing me off before going home.
