Not the newest Wegmans, and certainly not the biggest or finest. But a Wegmans is a Wegmans, which means that you're getting superior products at reasonable prices. The bakery here is excellent, and the produce is fresh and inexpensive. Great shopping experience. read more

Weeeeegman's, how I love theeeee. That's my tribute song to Wegman's. Be glad you can't hear me yelling it from Texas. Boyfriend's dad lives in Auburn, and I love coming to stock up on groceries at Wegman's when we come visit. For any out of towners who aren't fortunate enough to be near a Wegman's (like everyone in Texas who might be reading this from my profile): Wegman's is kind of a cross between a Tom Thumb and a Central Market. The prices are a little on the high side for some things, but their prepared foods (ESPECIALLY the tiramisu. Get it, get it now. Thank me later) are amazing. They even have a sandwich shop inside the store. Get your sandwich made so when you go home and unload your groceries, you don't have to cook dinner. All 4 of us got the big sandwiches and ate the 2nd half as a late-night snack... The produce has always looked and tasted really fresh, as well as the meats section. One thing I noticed about Wegman's that is awesome (in addition to all this other stuff): Their store brand is really good. We got a store brand Wegman's frozen pizza and a name brand one (topping disagreement) and I think my Wegman's brand pizza was MILES ahead of the other one. No trip to NY to visit family is complete without me going through a Wegman's with a giant smile on my face like an idiot. Just don't ask me directions on how to get there. Way overrated. This store is the runt of the litter. So way below any wegmans in the greater syracuse Rochester / New York state market. No respect for the auburn community. Do the right thing...redevelope the property into a two story store like a Whole Foods with under ground parking. Pay Auburn back for 40 years of loyalty. Show Auburn you care. Wegmans is apparently pretty popular up north. This was my first time in one. Family had chosen it for a quick lunch, prior to a wedding. Imagine my surprise when we entered a grocery store. This review isn't for the grocery part of the business, but for the deli and dine-in area. Most of our family ended up getting items from the salad bar, but hubs and I decided to wait in line for a sub. The line, though short, took forever. It was at least organized, thanks to a numbered-ticket order system. We went for an Italian sub, and they humored us when we asked to have it toasted. Then we hopped into another line to pay. Unfortunately, the folks in front of us had ordered three smoothies. Which took forever to make. And rather than ring us up in the interim, they put the cash register on hold while making the drinks. The dining area is fairly clean, modestly sized, but we were able to pull tables together and fit our party of 12. The sub? Sub par. Definitely not as good as what you'd get from Subway or Quizno's. On the way out, I noticed a pre-made sushi section, that actually looked pretty decent. Wish I'd tried that instead... read more

I generally love Wegmans, and when I was living in Auburn I didn't really have a choice but to go to this one. I can honestly say that I hate the pharmacy in this store. The first time I called in to refill a prescription about a year ago the woman on the phone was very rude to me, and then the other day I came in from out of town to refill a prescription I sat for a half hour before asking if it was ready yet. The girl looked at me confused and said that they told me there was an issue( because that's what the notes on the computer said) and they had to call the doctor about it... except no one told me anything and I probably would have sat there for an hour before anyone would have even informed me. what a huge waste of time! read more

Wow! they need to retrain some of the staff on their customer service skills. They half @$$ greet you if they even bother saying anything to you while shopping or checking out. Prices are decent from time to time but their staff make you feel unwanted and not like a customer should be treated in a grocery store. But then again, for a small town what can i say... take your chances shopping at Wal-mart or Tops! Hopefully my next review, if i bother to visit again will be better but this place needs a serious customer service make over. read more

Stopped by with hopes of some sushi and was not disappointed. What I did not see till I was leaving the store was the coffee bar - I'd expected to have some hot tea, too. I also picked up an organic Fuji apple; a piece of chocolate cake; and a snack tray of celery sticks, apple slices, peanut butter, and rice cakes, all organic. read more

Local grocery shopping is a challenge at best, but i drive the 8 - 10 miles to go to this store for our weekly groceries. This store has what i perceive as the bust customer service going. Ask anyone for assistance and its there. My last experience was asking for a specialty bread they make, which they were out of, but with the in store bakery, they made the bread in 15 minutes and i was on my way. I realize many may see a 15 minute wait as an inconvenience but this specialty product is one of a kind, and they went out of their way to accommodate me. One of many positives for this store, but so glad they are near my home town where i appreciate this service. read more

I grew up in Auburn, have since moved away, but I come back often to see family. I'm very loyal to our Wegmans because I find the quality of the groceries and their customer service to be consistently excellent. Employees are friendly and helpful, and the prices are fair. I disagree with the other reviewer that people at the pharmacy are rude and/or hapless. They have been great with our family's prescriptions, very efficient on the phone and in person. I must admit that the two main reasons I can't give Auburn's Wegmans 5 stars is because I find the selection in the natural foods section somewhat limited (I'd love to buy unsweetened organic almond and/or rice milk, like at Whole Foods, for instance). Also, though they have expanded this store to include an eat-in section, complete with hot and cold buffet, I also find the selections here limited compared with other stores (Ithaca and Dewitt, now those are 5-star Wegmans!). I would love to see more vegan and vegetarian options. Nice to see the new veggie sushi choices-- they're delicious. I realize things are a little slow to catch up here in Auburn, but I look forward to further improvements at our Wegmans. In the meantime, most of us here rely on this wonderful heart-of-the-city store. read more

Best grocery store in Central NY as far as I'm concerned. The selection of food is amazing and the store although busy at times, the cashiers move the lines fast and also the employees offer to carry your groceries to your car. At times, difficult to find a parking spot but worth the time to shop there. read more

My all-time favorite place to shop! Has everything I need and great food!! Some items are a little over priced than if you went to Walmart but their off-brand items have great quality. If you've never been to a Wegmans I highly recommend it! read more

I recently bought some yogurt covered cranberries from this store. While trying to pay for them the cashier looked at the bag and stated she thought they were macadamia nuts. The line grew and the cashier kept feeling the cranberries in the bag, (which had been properly weighed and labeled with price), saying she thought they were macadamia nuts. She eventually called a manager over who then confirmed they were yogurt covered cranberries. I felt the behavior of the cashier was rude and accusatory and I was very upset. Even after the manager left she kept muttering that they were looked like macadamia nuts and didn't I agree. Very poor experience and I hope not the norm for cashiers at Wegmans, especially during the holiday season. read more

I have walked out of wegmans maybe 4 or 5 times. I get so fed up with their meat selection I just walk away from the half filled cart. Ask for help and you get a dumb response if you can even get one. And their prepared food is horrible. I miss living in Austin and enjoying Whole Foods. read more
