I finally made it into Trader Joe's on our last day in New York. This location was pretty chill. It wasn't crazy busy but it was also about 7:30 when we came in. My goal was to grab one thing and one thing only. And that's the New York shopper bag. I went to Athens, Georgia last year and got some bags from that location. I decided to do the same while I'm here visiting New York. Instead of a key chain or a corny shot glasses, I know that these bags will be used. I love how colorful and sturdy they are. The registers were all pretty open. I headed to the closest one to me. The cashier was really nice! He rang me up and I headed out the door. This location is super clean and nice! It's really big too, a lot bigger than the locations back home for me. I'm happy I got a chance to go to one of my favorite stores in Syracuse, NY. It was the perfect ending to my trip. read more

My first visit of 2026 and TJ's does not disappoint! Huge selection of Easter plants daffodils, tulips, Lillie's, and more! Fresh organic produce galore. Potato pancake with applesauce sample, of coarse those went in the cart! Easter bunnies filled with gummies and carrots, Speckled Easter Egg chocolates and bars, gourmet jelly beans, TJ dark chocolate peanut butter cups, huge variety for filling Easter baskets! Uncured Ham, antibiotic free, and vegetarian fed perfect for Easter dinner. Excellent service at check out! One of the cashiers was available and came down to grab me and my cart, scanned and bagged all my items in a jiffy! We chatted about the new Easter and spring items, many of which I purchased, and the popularity of TJ's! After loading up my TJ haul, one of the employees doing some outdoor cleanup retrieved my cart. Spot on customer service. I mainly go to Trader Joe's for unique snacks. This trip was about restocking the everything but the bagel seasoning, get different cheese for charcuterie boards, everything and the elote dip, and to find other things to try. I follow Trader Joe's Instagram and saw a post about the sparkling green teas in a can and has to try them! Bought two packs different flavors. Also really like the Mac and cheese bites. I mean, it's Trader Joe's! While TJ's produce is kind of infamous for not lasting long, there's so much other stuff here that is great. People love Trader Joe's so much that there is even a reddit devoted to it. I've bought gorgeous, affordable houseplants here, on top of a ton of really good groceries. They have a lot of seasonal items that I wish you could get all year round, but I suppose it does keep them special! If you want cheese or nuts, they have better prices for those at Trader Joe's than most places, and a great variety, as well. There are a ton of frozen foods that are really good. The quality of their famous orange chicken has gone downhill a bit lately, but their gyoza is excellent, they have some amazing ice creams, their frozen tamales are the best in the area, and there's so much more to enjoy there! read more

Love this place. Staff is always friendly. Store is always clean. Parking lot is small but I've never had an issue finding a spot. Fun artwork customized to this location. I live like an hour away, so I'm not doing my regular grocery shopping here, I mostly stop in for unique snacks and whatnot, but there are a few items I get just about every time I'm there. The daily facial sunscreen (if you're lucky and it's in stock) is an almost perfect dupe for the much more expensive Supergoop unseen sunscreen. Chocolate covered peanut butter pretzels are downright addicting. I've accumulated many houseplants from TJ's and they're all thriving several years later. The standard TJ's set up. I pretty much shop here everytime I'm in town for the week. A week's worth of meals is less than $100 and all good food. Staff is always on point with their cheeriness. Sriracha shrimp is exellent. I was pleasantly surprised by the kibbeh! The beef pho bowl was disappointing. Can't go wrong with any of the indian or mexican frozen meals. read more

Conveniently located with plenty of parking. I love this place for unique frozen meals and snacks you can't find anywhere else. And the price point isn't too bad either. For example: most Lean Cuisine frozen meals at regular grocery stores are about 4.00 for one serving. But here at Trader Joe's you can get 2-4 servings of unique and more flavorful meals for the same price or lower. The produce here is fresh. The employees at this location are always friendly & helpful, & some of the staff remembers me even if I haven't been in for a while. I don't struggle to think of something to say to the cashier at checkout time; conversation always comes organically. Coulombe is said to have developed the idea of the Trader Joe's South Seas motif while on vacation in the Caribbean and the first store branded as "Trader Joe's" opened in 1967. I'm a fan of Trader Joes. I first started going to them while I lived in Maryland for a couple years, so I was excited when I heard one was opening in CNY. I'd first like to point out, if you're looking at Trader Joes as a place to get all your weekly grocery needs, you will be disappointed. Comparing it to Wegmans or the like is not a fair comparison, as Trader Joes is a specialty store and will not have a full spread of items like a supermarket. But what Joe's does offer is enough to have you going and filling your cart. Most of Joe's items are its own house brand, and everything they sell is pretty high quality. They have an amazing frozen foods section with meal offerings you won't see anywhere else, and have fresher prepared meal offerings in the front of the store. They have a great, cheap, high quality floral section, and while I'm not a drinker, their craft beer selection is wide and varied. They have a pretty good fresh fruit/vegetable section as well, and while they do have some meats for sale, it's not what you're usually buying for weekly groceries and meals. But they DO have interesting options such as chocolate-covered potato chips, mango lemonade, quinoa and black bean infused tortilla chips, ahi tuna steaks and turkey meatballs to offer some new variety to your meals. Their cookie butter is freaking amazing and I'd eat it on anything. Overall, if you're looking to do your weekly grocery shopping for every day items, Trader Joes is not the place. But if you wanna get some different variety in your meals and find some delicious items you won't see at any other grocery store, Trader Joes is the place for you. read more

LOVE that they came to Syracuse! It's always a fun shopping experience! They have tons of items on display. They have very good prices on a lot of their veggies, frozen items, etc. The store is clean, and there's often a sample or two at the sample station, along with coffee samples right across. I stay away from their meats, cheeses, dairy, name brand cereal, etc. as those tend to be higher priced. They have beautiful inexpensive fresh flowers, bananas priced per banana, not by pound, tiny carts for the littles, affordable greeting cards, cool stickers for the kids, monthly coloring contest, and some pretty awesome food at a good price. On a busy weekend day, we didn't have to weave through too many people and they had registers open so we only had to wait behind one customer and then it was our turn! Thumbs up! read more

never too excited about a trip to trader joes. I find the layout to be poorly designed (in most of their stores), produce to be far from fresh (have you seen the grapes and strawberries?), prices underwhelming, and selection far from comprehensive. i used to love their dried fruit/nuts selection, buuuuuuuut big bad weggies has a far superior stash AND more competitive pricing. the other thing that gets me about this place is the bag situation. i guess they are trying to save the environment by giving us paper bags and that's cool, but they are soooo stingy with them! bags are always double bagged BUT they fill them to the brim so that you can almost not even use the handles. i always go into trader joes with an open mind and leave sorely disappointed. two stars for: -beer selection -location read more

This would be 5 stars if this TJs had wine as well. They do have some alcohols but are limited compared to other TJs. They carry beer, ciders and mixers but no wine nor hard alcohol. I think it's so cute how they have mini shopping carts here for kids with flags labeled "customer in training." They use paper rather than plastic bags. Trader Joe's was started by a sibling of the owner of Aldi's so like Aldi's, they carry their own brand of products. So you wont find Jif peanut butter but instead you will find a TJ brand of it. I love their dog snacks, soaps, and frozen foods. They have a wonderful variety of cookies, yogurt and sauces as well. Trader Joe's individual cup yogurts are super creamy and delicious (I like the banana and blueberry flavored ones). The employees were friendly and they offer free samples in the back left of the store. I tried a turmeric ginger tea yesterday. I love their cinnamon apple crisp chips and sour gummies. I always leave with more snacks than I intend on buying. I tried their margarita mix yesterday for national margarita day and thought it tasted great. It had no artificial flavorings or coloring. I like TJs more than Aldis because they have more interesting products. Their milk costs slightly more than what I usually get it for at Walmart. TJs is also a great place to go to get food/flower gifts. They have a lovely selection of cheeses, chocolates and flowers. They even sell cute cards! read more

I really do like going to Wegman's for most of my grocery needs. Trader Joe's offers quite a few items that Wego's doesn't have. I try to come here at least once or twice a month to pick up cookie butter or other yummy snacks. They also have a very awesome selection of juices. I really like how they offer samples of their products as well. Now, I have to be completely upfront and mention that their prices are a wee bit high. They are not ripping anyone off by any stretch of the imagination, but you will spend a tad more than your average grocery store. One more thing I truly appreciate, is they have a great return policy for their products. They will alway take their returned products if you aren't satisfied. read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Trader Joe's on Erie Blvd. I live 45 minutes away from the store but I would travel two hours if I had to. This is the nicest, cleanest, friendliest store I have ever shopped in. The customer service people are of the highest caliber. They go above and beyond to help you. Last year when I was shopping there, I happened to have gotten some bad news from my doctor and I was feeling very depressed. I was asked by the cashier if I was okay and he could tell something was wrong. He asked one of the other employees to go a grab me a bouquet of flowers. When he gave them to me, he said "here ma'am, these are for you. I hope it makes you feel better." I was so surprised by this gesture that I started to cry. Everyone knows how amazing Trader Joe's is, so I'll refrain from reiterating it (note:If you haven't tried the cookie butter, you should. My husband moons over that shit). But I wanted to talk about the service there. My son has severe eczema and we've been trying every brand of laundry detergent that sells a "free & clear" style. All of them are far too harsh on his very sensitive skin. The cashier realized that we were buying detergent and remarked how great it was. I mentioned all of the half used bottles I have from trying so many and she told us that if we didn't like it to bring it back with the receipt and they would give us a full refund (side note:this is actually the cheapest detergent we've tried yet). I was shocked and even more excited to try it. I can't tell you if the refund worked or not because the detergent is AMAZING! It cleans and smells amazing, and our clothes come out so soft without having to use fabric softener. Thank you for being such a great company. We'll be back to try more products soon! read more

I try to get to TJ's every few weeks to stock up on some things that I love, but I do my main grocery shopping each week elsewhere. I think it's a difficult place to come as a one stop shop for all your grocery needs, especially if you are trying to be even semi-cost conscious. That said, I love TJ's and was very happy to see one open here in Syracuse. Having spent about 12 years out West, it isn't the best TJ's I've been to and the selection compared to others is not quite as good, most especially their bakery. And, every time I come here I look for my favorite TJ's salad dressings, but they don't seem to carry the ones I like. It is a great place to come for various types of international cuisines, as you can find lots of good Italian, Chinese, Thai, Mexican, and Greek foods, mostly in the frozen section. This is one of the big reasons I like coming here, as other chain grocery stores in the area are severely lacking in that. I particularly like their bottled curry sauces - very tasty! TJ's hummus is my favorite, and they do have a good selection of different types of hummus and other dips. The cheese selection is pretty good, too. It is a bummer that NY doesn't allow liquor and wine sales in grocery stores, as most TJ's I've been to have a great selection of both, much of which is very reasonably priced. So, if you ever visit one in another state, look for that. The employees are very nice, the store is super clean, and once you've been here a couple of times it is very easy to find things, as the store layout is great. It's worth checking out just to see what they have, as it is a pretty unique grocery store and has some great types of products that you can't find elsewhere in the area. read more

This was the first Trader Joe's I have ever been to. I have heard how awesome it was and was looking forward to going. It is a cool little grocery store with a very nice staff. The reason I gave it only 3 stars and I will not be back is because after I left here I had to go to Wegmans to get the other half of stuff on my grocery list. I know it is not fair to compare Wegmans in Dewitt to this place but Wegmans has everything I want and Joe's does not. You should check this place out though; it might be for you. read more

During my journey across Syracuse I pulled into "Trader Joe's" to stock up on provisions to see the family through these long winter months. Joe is apparently not the proprietor of this establishment, nor are they interested in trading salt or squirrel pelts for their inventory stock. Love this place. It is a foodie paradise. My only issue is that most of what they sell is processed food. The best processed food you can buy for the money. The store is small, but they change the items seasonally, so there are always new items. Great prices on things like coffee beans and nuts. I just read the review from a guy that got a chocolate bar (William F.) that was super salty, causing him to write a terrible review. I just want to say, sorry, you must have gotten a botched batch, BUT Trader's will take anything back, even without a receipt, very kindly and apologetically, for your full refund. They shouldn't have gotten and received such a bad review on the basis of one messed up item. Things happen, just take it back. This store is the best in all regards. If you are afraid to try something new, or even check on a different batch, they will gladly open it and sample it out for you. This is akin to giving a bad review on an item because the package came damaged, not helping people understand how the actual item performs.
