Although it's taken me quite a while to write a review of this place after a rather lengthy history…read moreof gas fill-ups here, though I thought I could get around filling up at a Citgo with my current car at first, when I desperately needed gas on New Years Eve and saw the sun setting near Staples Plaza (near Burlington Coat Factory in the former Caldor parking lot), I knew I had to reach out and fill up here. First of all: I still can't believe that this place still calls themselves "Citgo Caldor Plaza". Caldor has been closed since well before 1997 yet their receipts still name themselves after this plaza. Caldor went bankrupt and this plaza turned into a combined Burling Coat Factory & Dollar Tree location. The biggest thing now near this plaza (and sitting closer to this Citgo) is the Staples and Jo-Ann Fabrics location which does even better business. When I came here on the close of the afternoon on New Years Eve, it was drawing upon negative temperature readings. I felt cold. I mean, I had a jacket and pair of gloves, but the whole experience just wasn't like something I would have wanted in a million years. I had my GasBuddy card on me, so paying for gas was quick and easy and even better, knowing I'd be saving money with the transaction always made for a plus on the experience. I'm just sorry I couldn't have pumped more gas than I could. The pump stopped at $18.50, and so did I. I almost ran off without grabbing my receipt, but that was to be expected seeing the temperatures over the last couple days after this fill-up (I knew I'd have a receipt in my GasBuddy Wallet account, but receipts with this are always a great reminder for what I'd need to remember about when it came time for GasBuddy to withdraw from my bank.) I see a fair amount of people pulling up to these pumps, filling and driving away. I sometimes come here, and although most-often I end up having to pay with cash inside, when I do come with GasBuddy card in hand, I know I'm better off using the "pay-at-the-pump" method, so I'm glad it was working that day. I even sometimes spot other rideshare drivers showing up from "parking" in this gas station at times, so I know I'm in line with most other drivers in this respect. I won't get into history that much, but I do remember when I was a kid years ago, this was the only place where kids would get tootsie-roll samples that they no longer hand out. Now I do wish they'd return when I sometimes need a "pick-me-up". But then again, find me elsewhere for saving purchases on gas prices nearby at such stations called Speedway and Shell which tend to impress me more.

I've liked most of the other Stewart's Shops, so when I was nearby this one and needed a muffin and some additional drinks and easy breakfast pastries, I decided Stewarts it was going to be and came in early last month (about a month ago). I didn't find any blueberry muffins (because my brother grabbed the last muffin to purchase for himself and my mother and didn't mention that he was the one until much later) and the chocolate chip muffins affected my stomach that day, the rest of the experience went without much issue or hassle. But at least when i looked for a root beer, i found a vanilla one I wanted to try instead. It's not that the shelves aren't stocked, it's just the options I'm given to choose from or the placement of the items to make for an easy route to the registers to pay. I know its a convenience store and I'm left waiting for something else decent to happen to this station that convinces me to shop here more often again. My brother's favorite bank is almost next door, and he seems to avoid this station if it isn't for our mention of stopping here on occasion when coming through on specific reasons.

Lots of red tobasco! - The sandwiches are decently packed and not miserly looking as sometimes is the case at a few NJ locations. Now I reviewed this particular chain before out in Middletown New York and it wasn't a very nice one, and unfortunately this one isn't that great either. My main concern/ complaint is the lack of windshield washer fluid at the pumps. I've even gotten a hold of corporate in the past and they said they were on top of it however I've been to this particular location two nights in a row now and since about a week and a half ago at least if there's no washer fluid.... Well actually no I stand corrected there is actually washer fluid in the reservoirs tonight, however there's only two squeegees to go around four different sets of pumps. I will attach a picture of one of the squeegees to this review as it is the most ugly, decrepid looking piece of equipment I've ever tried to use to wash my window. Not sure exactly what anyone thinks a person is supposed to do with this thing but yeah My other observation... Well actually let me go back to the coffee and cookies and once again say that they are phenomenal. I hate being all negative when there are positive aspects. But as I was just saying, my other observation is the garbage around the pump areas and the cigarette butts in the parking lot as you walk up to the door. Coincidentally I'm at the same gas pump tonight as I was last night and the same garbage /paper cups are in the same places that they were yesterday. Someone took the garbage out because they were overflowing yesterday but nobody picked up the trash around the pump. Nobody has swept cigarette butts and quite a while or at least I'm guessing because judging by the number on the ground either it's been a while or there was a group of about 45 people smoking cigarettes all at the same time. So anyway, I'm actually going to stop at a couple other locations later including the one in Middletown that I reviewed earlier just out of curiosity to see if their washer fluid situation has changed any. The corporate office said that they were on top of it however who knows maybe it takes a couple weeks for word to get down the corporate ladder to the managers of the stores to get stuff done.

Things were clean, though there were no other cars filling up alongside me. I can't even say it's a problem of mine, but I never did know that Citgo has their own gas-savings/rewards card out there. I saw an application to fill out for this card at the pumps, but I had my own form of gas-saving/rewards card with GasBuddy that I was dealing with. I just wish it wouldn't be geared towards those with insertable cards to start it off, as I bet my other brother has a card already and was hoping you'd have a way to enter a phone number or similar at the pumps to get the same discount. I'm thankful I don't have to go through all that rigmarole with GasBuddy at my side. I can't stand always saying what seems to be the same thing in all my gas reviews. But when you figure in all the possible places with only pay-at-the-pump conditions, you get the picture that I have few other choices to choose from in what to say. But it hasn't been just me that has stopped in. My brother also stops in on occasion - though his experiences are sparse and outdated, and besides they are his spot to get a short car-wash which is also present on site. (This experience I can't back up, as I myself have never used this location's wash, as I find better prices and services elsewhere that make this car wash unnecessary and pricey.)

Getting into and out of the place isn't always the easiest, but it's not too bad. As I said, sandwiches are pretty good here, the place is clean and gas prices are usually decent.

First of all: I'd hate to say that this place really isn't in "Woodstock" like the address says it…read moreis. It's just in the outer banks of Kingston - off Route 28. This address is just unclear and seems like it's further into Woodstock then it really is, upon initial inspection. I came into this gas station - after having a longer trip I wasn't expecting to have had to the outer banks of Mt. Tremper on Uber. I knew I was in need of gas - I can't let my gas go below a half tank or longer trips on Uber can run any car I run to go out of gas quickly, and not make my trip to the place very pleasant. However, I was at the quarter tank mark when I came past so in I came. Although the gas areas were filling quickly - not many other customers were moving quickly. There were a few lanes open, and not having a direct-in from 28 southbound is really discouraging to see. There are signs of no left turn - forcing those to take Zena Rd's one entrance into the gas station. However, when I got in there, the signs don't seem to be stopping people. I watched three cars turn left into the business - bypassing this sign; if I would have had my phone on me, I would've video-recorded it and showed it to the police. I did it right and turned off Zena Rd instead, so that's all that matters here. I got gas - as normal. It asked if I wanted a receipt (for a pay-at-the-pump transaction) after I pressed the button for "yes", I couldn't help but notice that the screen never "cleared" my selection after it sent my receipt out. Maybe it's just a delay in these pumps - I haven't had this problem on any other Stewarts pumps before, so not sure what happened. I responded to a few things, then upon exiting back out directly onto 28, was forced to hang a right and head northbound - when I clearly wanted to go southbound (and my car was facing clearly due north with no way to go south). I didn't think I could swing around and head back to Zena Rd, and with all the car traffic in their few parking spots and all the foot traffic in the "parking lot" didn't think I could make it around to get back to 28 south. Clearly, that area has to change. I shouldn't be forced to go miles out of my way the opposite directions of the clearest directions most people are coming just because some business feels it's not right to make certain turns. I could easily have fit the left turn into the business if there hadn't been the no-left turn sign. Not too sure of the left turn out, because there's not enough space to make the turn, and I shouldn't be forced to make a turn I was unwilling to make - to go miles out of my way back from where I came from - the next turn to turn around was 3 miles out of my beckon way.

Even with saying this place can…read moreuse my EBT card, I've found quite some things I hadn't known for this place to carry in the past hidden within your shelves, that every time I go in there, some things are always missed in the last transaction I intended to purchase but put back. I've been going in there mostly for quick items, but every time I go in there, I'd always carry peanuts and similar (after checking out), although not being able to find hard-boiled eggs here was a depression because I was buying for someone else who was traveling with me at the time. Also, not being able to find bakery goods, like muffins and hard roll sandwiches has been troubling because, with Speedway, it's always been they carry only the brand name goods that aren't baked in-store. I value (at least a peanut buttered roll) from a convenience store, though muffins are my backup, and neither one via store brand is ever found here - and I'm angry about it. However, I like that your store carries the ice cream in the fridge over the window. It's nice being able to buy ice cream cookie sandwiches in the same place as my favorite - Nestle Drumsticks - which not even I can find in most convenience stores near me. Although you don't exist on any of my delivery apps of choice for Dutchess County, I'm not expecting anything to come of this statement. Especially since your competitor is there and serving most of their goods to customers in Dutchess County, not seeing any Speedways is a downfall of the Speedway brand.
