We were in the neighborhood and went in for one item, we weren't certain if we could find anywhere else. We found it and a few other things we didn't expect. The shelves are well stocked, and has more than one or two brands on the shelf of the different items that that company may carry. Not just during Lent, they will cook seafood to order for you. Although, during Lent they were are specials in the seafood department. In the meat department you're not obligated to buy a whole side of beef; you can pick up a couple of spare ribs or maybe two of something. The store is clean and well organized. The aisles are wide enough for two carts to pass, without a problem. There's more than enough free parking outside. read more

Just some koozies that I thought were fun and I bought but anyway. After 10 years living in the Hudson valley area and shipping at this store on and off I have to say that... the only thing that brings me back is the sour dough bread and the plain bagels. They should promote and give that man who makes and bakes these things an award. I will go as far as to say that the sour dough and the plain bagels are the best in Dutchess county. I tried bagels and sour dough bread from Adam, bagels from the bagel stores and so on... the Price chopper one remain the best ones. Also their sea food department is nice, even though I don't eat seafood in general, I do eat fish and I love the fact that they can fry the haddock for you. That's something not even Adam's does. I stopped shopping here regularly because their produce is not great. Most of the time is mushy and goes bad in a few days. I'm guessing they can't help it if the people don't buy it in time. So they still get my business because I always come and shop there when I need bagels and sour dough. read more

I love this store! I usually shop at Stop and Shop because it's on the opposite side of the street near the stores I often frequent. But I've always been curious about the store so I took a walk over. I LOVE it. The prices are reasonable, the fish counter seems to offer fresh seafood, the store is well-organized and everyone was pleasant. I'm fairly new to the area and I don't drive so my choices are slightly limited. I'll be shopping at Price Chopper much more frequently than in the past, and an added bonus: the bus stops right in front of it! read more

I don't regularly shop at Price Chopper. But when I worked nearby, I shopped here from time to time. It is in a convenient location, and it is open 24 hours a day. This was my first visit here in quite some time, so the most recent renovations were new to me. I think they're a definite improvement and bring this store up to what I consider "typical" for a Price Chopper. That includes a good bagel station and dining area, a good seafood selection, and loss-leaders and sales which are usually competitive. But it also means that many of the regularly priced items that I usually buy are actually cheaper at Hannaford and Shop Rite. Their self-checkouts are a bit more user-friendly than the ones I've seen at other grocery stores. But today only 3 of the 4 were working. This is someplace I would visit to get items on sale or items I generally liked, but not someplace which would be one-stop shopping for me. read more

FIVE stars for Price Chopper, ZERO stars for INSTACART I shop at Price Chopper every week. I have no problem with Price Chopper. This weekend, however, I was sick, so I used their delivery service, run by INSTACART - a separate business. INSTACART charged my checking account for more than my total bill. When I contacted INSTACART, they insisted that the bill was correct, and tried to blame substitutions that THEY made as the cause of the price difference. Their math didn't add up. After informing them that I would be speaking to the NYS Attorney General's office and then hanging up, I checked my checking account online. SURPRISE! Within 20 minutes my overcharge was GONE. Not adjusted - the entire withdrawal post was GONE. I went to my account on their web page, and guess what - price total adjusted down by almost $40.00. I will continue to shop Price Chopper, but if I am ever in need of delivery, I'll pay a friend to do my shopping. read more

Ordered a cake for my mom birthday, took 30 mins to get someone bake to the bakery , someone from the front of the store came back and helped , girl at the bakery cane back to work with her boyfriend who looked like he didnt work there.m. The came had a huge crack in the middle asked her to fix it said she could not i told her different way to fix it she said no and returned to talk to her boyfriend i went to guest services they saw the cracks called and the girl in bakery said if she did it anythjng it would change the cake .. not sure how gave them 2 stars cus i got a discount but her bad attitude escalated and info is sent to corporate hope she finds a new job with her easy bake oven. read more

Let me start off by saying that I am BIG ON CUSTOMER SERVICE. Without customer service your business will never succeed. On my way home from work at the hospital I stopped here to pick up one item. Of course due to covid and social distance the lines are longer than normal. I respectfully waited in line. I wasn't in a rush. However they had lines going down Isles. When it was finally my turn the cashier literally yelled me and told me to go wait in line and it's back there. I told her no, I waited in line and I was in the line/row/isle that the last 4 people ahead of me where in. So she almost refused to assist me until The man behind me said ma'am he was there before any of us we just didn't know how the line was forming. She then told me to put my stuff on the belt. She didn't ask me for my advantage card, ask how I was doing, she didn't tell me my total,didn't offer to put a store card for me so that I could have possibly saved 50 cents, she didn't say thank you. I probably wouldn't care to much about all of the above but the person before me and the person after me she did all of the above. It wasn't my fault that she assumed and made an even bigger a** out of her self. I don't know if she was new because she was in regular clothes and not the stores partial attire. But it's people like her that make me not mind going across the street to Stop And Shop and paying a few extra dollars. This cashier acted like a damn pit bull. I wasn't trying to cut the line or be rude. I was however very disappointed in the way she treated me vs. the other customers. I don't need to go any further. And if the store cares to look further into this all the info will be below. Corporate will have it also. I have no tolerance for bad customer service. Supermarkets are hard to review but we had a great experience today that needs noting. This is a big store and we have lived nearby for many many years. Today was the first time we had visited it. We were looking for coffee that we had purchased at a PriceChopper in Lee, MA. We found the coffee but it was so expensive that we passed. We then decided to look for their Organic Vegetable section. We found it but we were looking for Driscoll Organic Strawberries and could not find any. I very tall young man asked if he could help us. We asked for the Strawberries. He said to follow him. On his way to where we were going this nice man bent over and picked up a small piece of garbage that was on the floor. We were impressed. We got to the strawberries area and there were none. He said "Let me look in the back." He trotted away and came back with a fresh case of them and showed us to choose before he put them on display. We are now obliged to take at least one. We asked how much the large box was. It had no markings. He said he would look it up and left. He came back and said $3.99...a great price by our standards. We took another big box and thanked the young man and said "great job." On our way to the car we looked at each other and said, "That young man created a great experience for us. We now have another Organic produce supplier that we did not have before. We will be back!! read more

I've been in some Price Choppers before but nothing would have prepared me for my first shopping trip into this location today when I was (out of my element) and down in Poughkeepsie earlier today as an Instacart Shopper. But it all started with the fact that the carts here are coin-operated (you insert a coin to retrieve a cart, and you get your coin back once you return it) but I didn't know that, and having all my money in a digital form, was unprepared with no coins. I ended up taking a handbasket but I shouldn't have had to, especially with 10 items I needed to find - 1 of which was large (Clorox bathroom brush). It's funny that I ended up there as part of my first Poughkeepsie Instacart transaction because I stopped in yesterday but never got a real look around until today's monstrosity. I mean, I like the store overall (good layout and somewhat good organizational upkeep) but when it came to prices I still have to reconsider the options. I mean I had to pass on two items I couldn't find including a pumice stone (in personal care) as well as some guacamole (but because no employee was looking around the store helping customers) I had to mark as not found and you lost that sale (I do believe I was able to get everything else). I think I'll remember to bring my quarters with me for next time. read more

I hesitate a bit giving this place 3 stars but it is indeed average..very old signage and feel... if you remember the old Shoprite wayy back in the 90s when it was where Borders was....which is where Aldis is now, Price Chopper looks like it has the same interior decorator. That old feeling reflects on the produce dept., which is not usually in the best form or very fresh. Prices are higher than average. The deli meats are of below average quality, and they are the only ones in the area with very questionable meats and cheeses for a couple bucks a pound to be sliced (mystery meats for sure). The bakery is a saving grace, and although the fish and meat dept. Is a good quality, It's almost always overpriced compared to other stores in the area. I think it's an OK venue, but it's really not a place I would purposely stop at. It's not worth it, even for gas points. read more

This Price Chopper is a great location on Rt 9 and is pretty spacious as well. However, the interior could use some remodeling and definitely some cleaning. When compared to the other supermarkets in the immediate area (like the Stop N Shop right across the street), I'm a bit surprised how it stays in business. Granted it does have a RedBox in front (can never beat renting a movie for $1), but still, that isn't enough. The prices are a bit lower than the competitors, so I feel like it's an example of 'you get what you pay for'. read more

I went to Price Chopper on South Road in Poughkeepsie last winter when I went there to purchase angel food cake that was: buy one get one free. I got me two cakes and once I went to the register and the cashier rang up the purchase, the ring up did not register a discount. I told the cashier it was Buy one get one free, and she was like: "Its not ringing up so you are gonna have to pay $2.99 a piece." I told her: "there is a sign right on the display it says 'Buy one get one free', She was like: "Really." and I said. 'YES! could you please go and look." She refused. and said, "You're gonna have to pay..." Flustered, I said, 'Could I speak to your manager." She then obliged. The manager came and was very nice to me when I told her my problem, She was polite and said: "I'll go back and look." And she did. She soon came back and told me I was right, 'The cakes are buy one get one free." So, of course I got my discount, but I am still annoyed.... Why such trouble over a simple purchase??? I even like Price Chopper fish fry. But can the attitudes! read more

This review is for the Price Chopper Pharmacy In Poughkeepsie. It is for one associate in particular, her name is Peggy. She is the Pharmacist at this store. Peggy went above and beyond anything I've ever seen from any associate. I was in terrible pain after my surgery and was having difficulty reaching my doctor. We kept playing phone tag. Peggy would not give up. She paged the on call doctor twice, and he got back to her as she was walking out the door after a very long and busy holiday shift. Peggy called me several times during the day to update me on what was going on. She called me this morning to let me know my prescription was ready for pickup. Remarkable! She never even met me before, yet she looked at me as a person, as a patient in need, not just a number. I can't thank Peggy enough for all she did for me. Thank you Price Chopper for hiring such a caring individual. Please remember to treat her as kindly as she treated me! P.S. This is one of the first times I have ever written a review- that's how strongly I felt about this experience! read more

OK people Price Chopper is not a 24 hour market. It closes at 1 a. m. I got friendly service and it has a Red Box right outside. The store is kept clean with indoor bathrooms. That's all I will say for now since it's really late or should I say early. My cat will be happy for breakfast. read more

This store isn't the best but I think that the prices here are pretty solid. My main issue is how dirty the store is, it just doesn't look clean. The employees here are usually pretty helpful, but what confuses me the most how the store is organized - it just doesn't seem to make any sense. Asked an employee where if they had a specific frozen item in the back and she responded in a rudely fashion to ask the manager located in the bread section. When i got to the manager and asked about the specific item he replied ugh ugh ugh whatevers out there is out there. How unprofessional can you be ? PROS: They are open 24 hours. They have a good selection in pretty much all departments. The pharmacy is nicer to deal with than across the road. Large parking lot. CONS: Most departments have never heard of customer service. The pharmacy and food court seem to be the best. The deli is bad and the bakery is worse. Never ask them for anything that's behind the glass, save yourself some trouble and just choose from what is on open shelves. read more

The only good thing about this store is Trish the manager. Store is very dirty and a lot of the staff is incompetent. Ordered a cold cut platter for pick up. Was no trace of our order, even after we had the woman who took the order read it back to us. There was another customer who placed her order online and she too had to wait because there was no trace of her order Frank the produce manager needs customer service training. He walked away from me mid sentence and proceeded to go in the back grab his lunch and sit down in the café area to eat it. Thank you for your help Trish! I hate the makeover, this market 38 or whatever it is ,is probably one of the worst choices they've ever made. They've taken out a third of the product, they put in these little mini van shopping carts that are gigantic, it is not an easy adventure to go shopping there. And I'd like to go in to a supermarket get what I want and leave. I don't want to be stuck in a traffic jam in the aisle. And I do not want to make my shopping express A day trip. I'm not sure what clientele they were aiming for. But clearly not someone that values their time, their money, and their choices. Because they are not cheap. So you pay top dollar and have to settle on a product because they've taken out all your choices. read more
