As a first time visitor, I really like this park and its modern design. This park was not built when I was exiled to LA over a decade ago! Oh wells. Other than that, I'm shocked to see nice bathrooms a block away from the park for Domino Park guests! The bathrooms were really nice and modern! Each bathroom had dimmed lighting with a baby diaper changing station. One of the bathrooms was dirty with pee on the floor so I had to go to another one. Did not expect these nice bathrooms to get dirty like that! There were more bathrooms downstairs besides the ones on the first floor. The door to the bathrooms was very nice too! What a great job they did to this park. I cannot believe the Domino sugar factory still exists or is standing because I used to take the train and they be doing construction for many years for I don't know what reason. Looked like they turn downstairs into this nice modern park. So I went to the park to go to a Target pop up and got some nice freebies. There was enough space for pop ups and large crowds. Need to check out the rest of the park next time I'm here. Too bad there is no subway or trains going to this park and you need to resort to buses that take forever to arrive.

It was a lovely way to spend an evening. The park is lush and well designed, with lots of green space and flowers in bloom. Its waterfront esplanade is a pretty place for a walk, especially as the sun starts to set over the Manhattan skyline. I wandered up the raised slope at the street side of the park, which provides fantastic views across the East River. The elevated area where the jazz performance took place sits right on the water and made for a special setting to enjoy live music. A lot is packed into this section of the park. There's a large soccer field, public restrooms, water bottle filling stations, and a children's play area with shade and water features. I enjoyed seeing the small sandy beach, and BIP connects directly with Marsha P. Johnson Park, so there's even more to see as you walk and enjoy even waterfront green space. I also appreciated researching the site's transformation from an industrial area into a public park with restored natural features. It feels like a space that is actively working to improve and serve the neighborhood, and is well worth a visit. Let's hope monster development projects don't stop the park's promise from expanding even further.

I learned that this waterfront space was once the site of a radio tower. Because it was early morning, the park was quiet and empty. A few people were walking their dogs on the pier, which overlooks the Manhattan skyline. What caught my eye even more than the city waking up, however, was the large mural against a red brick wall. It shows a woman lying down, plucking dandelion petals. It was whimsical, especially once I noticed the frog beside her. I appreciated discovering this small pocket of the city and enjoyed the moment of peace before my day kicked into high gear.

It's actually not all that nice so I don't get the 4 and 5 star reviews but to each their own. This area was once a ferry landing that served the citizens of Williamsburg before it became part of Brooklyn. it was called the 19th century Grand Street Ferry. It transported goods and passengers across the East River to Manhattan. There is a relic of an old smokestack from a long gone molasses plant that used to be here anchoring the park.

It's utterly gorgeous and it's also located next to Industry and old stuff and it's beautiful. They have rejuvenated the area like crazy, and it is the very definition of gentrification you could say. It's next to the Domino Sugar Factory, and the skyline is dominated by that, and you can also look across to the beautiful Lower Manhattan vista. And of course like others said, get splashed by the toxic (not in a hipster way) East River whenever a boat goes by. I love it and it's one of the best to use but there are so many good ones.
