Especially for the pool. I find this to be one of the worst issues to me personally." Anyway the pool is nice and it is a nice size." It would be nice to see the City either put stairs dn into the pool or a mobile stairwell that can easily be added so that seniors and those with severe handicaps and arm injuries due to strokes or falls would not have to rely upon a lift that may malfunction at any given time or ladders that are OLD n VERY OUT-DATED." THE RUNGS ON THE LADDER R NARROW AND NOT WIDE ENOUGH TO REST YOUR FEET PROPERLY THERBY INSURING GOOD SUPPORT AS WELL AS BALANCE AND SAFETY." Every time they hv done renovations on the st johns center I always pray they hv given the pool steps some much needed attention. But sad to say Im always VERY disappointed. DB

Membership fee is very affordable and be paid annually or semi annually. Sign up is very easy. Staff is friendly. There are a full program of activities that you can find the schedule online. There are different classes and pool times for free swim. I am here mainly for the swim but I have taken yoga class here and enjoyed it. There is a workout room, cardio machines, a dance studio and a gym. There are also music classes. Many activities for children and adults. The locker room is okay; it's at the basic level of clean. No frills, just bring everything that you need. I do wish there were more lap swim hours but outside of that I do not have complaints on the facility.

There are many hidden little secrets abound this gorgeous landscape, from secret views of the city to secret paths. This park is huge and has several parts . While we always go to the lower levels for playground/…read more basketball areas we decided to visit the upper level Ridgewood Reservoir area . It's an elevated area with views of Brooklyn and Queens . You came see the ait traffic towers at JFK and even The Rockaways from some points. To get up top there are staircases all around the park. If you enter on the side facing parking lot there is an accessible ramp that takes you to the top as well. Up top you can walk or bike ( shared pathway). Walk around to check out the views or hit the middle pathway for the reservoir views. Signage is good and there are lots of historical and informational checkpoints. We went sort of mid morning and it wasn't crowded. Other evening and weekends when we visited other parts of the park there's been a significant amount of people but not crowded. The parking lot however can get jam packed on weekends. Lots of park workers around cleaning and giving directions etc , It's a well kept park. The picnic areas are nice as well. One side of the Reservoir is very noise due to the Jackie Robinson highway running along that end , heavy traffic sounds. Other than that it was a peaceful walk and bird /nature sounds were quite audible. I nice place to get your steps in and enjoy views.

The park's grounds keepers keep the entire park area spotless. There's a fitness section with actual gym equipment for public use and of course there's a play area for the kiddies-with all of the standards like a sliding board, swings etc. Linden Park has a tennis court, bleachers and benches where you can sit and catch your breath, stretch or people watch. An added bonus is the Soca fitness class. It's a free workout given by a wonderful gentleman named Paul. He sets up his speaker, plays old school Soca tunes and holds classes every Mon-Sat. He begins at promptly 9am and each class is an hour long. It's all free of charge but donations are accepted and appreciated. Mr. Paul is only there when the weather is nice so be sure to come out before the chilly weather sets in. Linden Park is tops in my book.
