Took my puppy to his first dog park. He had such a great time and there weren't any issues with other dogs. The view is great and wasn't packed when I went. No issues with cleanliness. Wish it was bigger but overall I would recommend

Beautiful views all day, the foliage, peaceful space and lots of visual appeal. The city comes alive at night especially.

Happy Friday! Nothing beats great weather to enjoy the beauty of Dominos Park. One of the many best part of Brooklyn to visit. After a nice needed workout grateful to be soaking on some sun and warm breeze. During the early afternoon and weekdays Domino Park is not crowded at all. You are able to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Incredible view of Manhattan. Great park to relax and just pass the time. Dog friendly also food trucks nearby if you want to grab a bite.

If you find the High Line too congested to traverse, here's a great alternative space right across the East River since it was designed by the same firm over the course of six years. Just opened in 2018, it's at the Domino Sugar Refinery site on a five-acre patch next to the waterfront. They've done an excellent job integrating salvaged factory equipment into the design and even incorporated the sugar production process into the playground layout. The waterfront walk is only a quarter-mile long with the views of Manhattan quite grand. I had no idea how many light aircraft landed on the East River. What's more, there were water jets for the kiddies and a taqueria just 'cuz. We didn't partake because hell, we just ate. Here's a suggestion: Jamie W. and I made an excursion of it by having lunch in the Lower East Side, walking the Williamsburg Bridge, and relaxing here before heading to Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg. Been years since I've made my way over here and it's feels and looks radically different. Situated right by the east river with views of the FDR, Brooklyn Bridge, and Manhattan in the background, this strip has been upgraded with playgrounds, sandy pits for sports, greenery, benches and more. It's a spot where everything and anything can happen from picnics to exercises, to a family fun day, and of course evening events (pop ups, salsa nights, live music etc). You slowly see the place being gentrified but it still has its charm which is perfect. This place is a vibe for sure.

The Refinery - former Domino Sugar refinery. Beautiful!

I love it when old things are repurposed instead of obliterated. This is the case for the site of the former Domino Sugar refinery located on the Brooklyn waterfront on River Street. The former refinery has been repurposed as "The Refinery", a multistory set of beautiful co-work spaces. The exterior brick facade was preserved, and a glass and steel structure looks as thought it was slid inside it. I absolutely LOVE this building! The former tank stacks have been preserved and placed in the park where refining outbuilding once stood. The park contains loads of a green space, with lots of grass for casual lounging as many locals were doing this afternoon and evening. There were skaters, bikers, joggers, walkers, and just people like me....chillin'. No hurry and no particular destination, just chillin' (LOL). There was even a "beach volleyball" sand area. As the sun set, the views of the Williamsburg bridge and the shadows it cast on the park were beautiful. I took pictures, but nothing compared to what I actually saw. I can't wait to come back in the spring! I bet this area will be teaming with people doing what I was doing today....chillin'. Come join me at Domino Park. I'll be the guy wearing a cool scarf, eating ice cream and you got it....chillin'.

Very pretty park next to the Williamsburg Bridge and the river. Tons of seating, both in the sun and in the shade. There are fountains and water features. Grassy spots to picnic or stretch out and read. The domino sugar factory is being restored and turned into a multi-use space. It's still under construction, but I've seen photos of the inside, and it looks beautiful, ripe for photo ops. They've also incorporated factory equipment into the site, which is a fun touch. There is a playground and a volleyball court. I plan to go back to see the factory when it opens up, as well as see the bridge and lights at night. In a very walkable part of Williamsburg, near galleries, shops, and restaurants.

Beautiful park right along the river. The views of the city are awesome. The old Domino Sugar building is cool to see especially how they preserved it for the residential property. Worth checking out for the scenery alone.

Great for photo opportunities any season, I will keep coming back to this park, looking forward to see what types of business the Domino Refinery will bring into the neighborhood also, not to be missed on your Brooklyn & NYC trip .

Beautiful park but be careful in the cold as the waterfront will amplify it. We came in the thick of December at night to show my friend around after going to the 7th Street burger event. The place looks great with a beautiful view but it was very cold. I can imagine it being extremely nice in the summer or warmer temperatures. We climbed the rampway and got a nice elevated view.

Domino Park is a 5-acre public park that opened in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York in June 2018. It spans approximately a quarter mile along the East River at the old Domino Sugar Refinery site. Completed in 1882, the refinery was operated by the Havemeyer family's American Sugar Refining Company (which produced Domino brand sugar) until it closed in 2004. The building was redeveloped into an office space and residential towers. Plans were then put into place to develop the grounds into a public park. The park was designed by James Corner Field Operations, who also designed the High Line in Manhattan. I visited Domino Park this past summer while I was cycling around NYC. I was trying out a number of Brooklyn breweries and pizzerias and was planning on stopping at the Domino Park locations of Roberta's Pizza and Other Half Brewing Company. I had assumed that 'Domino Park' was a fancy name for a Brooklyn neighborhood and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived and saw that it was actually a beautiful park. The park features a beautiful children's playground, a dog run, a volleyball court, a bocce court, a playing field, and a dancing fountain. The playground is even designed to resemble the sugar refining process. Most of the structures in the park were made using reclaimed materials from the old refinery. In addition to the aforementioned pizzeria and brewery, the park also features a seasonal taco stand named Tacocina. The most notable feature of the park is the old gantry cranes situated on the waterfront. They now house gardens with roughly a hundred species of plants. I had a really nice visit to Domino Park and I look forward to returning in the future.

Williamsburg bridge and tank artifacts from when it was an industrial site.

This park is beautifully designed, making great use of the limited space. The park was the old site of the Domino Sugar plant and they kept a number of artifacts from the plant in the park, which is a really nice touch and very interesting. I was there around Christmas time so they had wrapped the giant screws and other artifacts in Christmas lights which kind of made them look silly, but that's just my opinion. The best things about this park are the views of the bridge and Manhattan, the factory inspired playground, the elevated industrial walkway, and all the artifacts.

As a visitor to the city, finding parking on a weekday afternoon was near impossible, until it became possible after what felt like 25 minutes of searching for a spot. The park is truly sprawling and there are many places to explore, including pavilions, bridges, falls, a pond, a creek, and endless paved trails. We also couldn't help but notice that the park overall may not have been maintained consistently, based on the extensive weeds in fountains, for instance. We saw at least two cafes that had pastries, sandwiches, and beverages on their menu that looked good enough to make us think we'd definitely go there if we lived locally. All in all, I'm grateful for this space being available for locals and visitors to enjoy, and hope it is maintained and stays open for many more years.

Lots of families, etc. Still, it can be an enjoyable time. I do prefer weekday visits myself. The walking/bike paths are a great way to see the park in its entirety. It's really a wonderful way to spend a day in Brooklyn, getting away from it all.
