I visited with friends during happy hour which I highly recommend especially if you're a fan of oysters. They offer solid specials on martinis, beer, and wine. If oysters aren't your thing there are a few comfort food options like chicken tenders, burgers, fish sandwiches, and fries. The menu is small and leans seafood-heavy, so it might not be ideal for picky eaters. During our visit they seemed a bit understaffed but our server did a good job managing, and we weren't in a rush. One thing to keep in mind which may be expected given the location the parking is mostly street or valet which can be a hassle. Overall if I'm in the area and looking for a quality happy hour, Royale Room is definitely on my list to revisit.

We did have a little service hiccup when our server left us waiting for quite a while. I also understand that things happen and sometimes a busy restaurant gets hectic, so I don't want to judge the entire experience based on that. What impressed me was how Khloe, the manager, stepped in and handled it. She was incredibly helpful and made sure we were taken care of, which really changed the experience for the better. The atmosphere is a lot of fun. Good music, sports playing on the TVs, bottomless mimosas, and games for anyone who wants to make a day of it. There's something for pretty much everyone in the group. Next time I'll definitely be trying some of the games. Between the food, drinks, music, sports, and overall vibe, this is pretty much the definition of a Sunday Funday spot. I'll definitely be back!

The menu offered caviar, and the various flavors that emerged from the other dishes complemented the taste of each dish. The drinks were also well-done. We got reservations, and I looked up their parking offerings. Their website said parking would be validated with reservations, but when I called to get details about that, they said parking would be validated for anyone who dined here, we just had to mention it. Sunday morning it was grey and rainy. Fall had suddenly arrived. I drove downtown, and found plenty of free street parking by the gate before I found the parking garage. I hadn't needed to worry about that! When I got inside, it was obvious I hadn't needed to worry about a reservation either. It was almost empty! I guess not many people are going to a pool themed spot the first weekend of fall, when it's also rainy and ACL is happening. It was so empty that the emptiness created a bond with those of us who happened to be there, and I chatted with a few people and the one server who was around. I looked around and took some pictures. There is a functioning outdoor pool, and an indoor pool that has been converted to more dining space. However, due to a leak in the roof, the indoor pool dining space was closed. A small pool was filled with pink beach balls as a photo op. My friend arrived, and we picked a table by the indoor pool. We looked over the menu and wanted to try everything but settled on the shrimp quesadillas and chopped salad. I was glad we weren't limited to the brunch menu during brunch time! While we waited for our food, we took pictures in the ball pit pool and looked around. They put a lot of attention into making the place look retro, a bit like a Barbie play set, and a bit like a Wes Anderson film. Our food arrived, and everything was cooked and seasoned well. Our server refilled our water regularly. We really enjoyed the meal itself! I'd love to come back on a sunny busy day to get the full experience, but it was cool to see the potential in this spot, and try a new brunch!
