For our last day in Round Top, we stopped in at the Stone Cellar for a quick bite to eat. The venue is actually split into two places, the Stone Cellar and Jon Perez Lounge. The Stone Cellar is to the left and from there you can just order the food from the counter, whereas the lounge you will get table service. Given that this place also hosts live music, trying it out during the day when there wasn't a band (or crowds) made for an enjoyable lunch outing. I would say the menu has pub/bar fare and given that we were both craving pizza and a hamburger, we decided to order one of each to split. The staff also mentioned the Fried Gouda Bites are popular, so we opted for those as well. Let's start with the latter - the Fried Gouda bites were amazing, everything you could expect from freshly deep-fried cheese, decadent and tasty, these are a must order. For the burger, we ordered The Standard, and as the name suggests, their standard burger (I call these "diner-style") and my brother and I both agreed - this is damn near the perfect burger and the best one I've had in quite some time. It was just the perfect amalgamation meat, condiments, and sauce, with a delicious bun holding it all in together. Finally, the margarita pesto pizza was also great - crispy thin crust and just the right amount of cheese and sauce. So, don't overlook the Stone Cellar as a place to go see some live music, it has some amazingly delicious food as well. We will be back next year. read more

Staying nearby for a mother daughter weekend and we chose stone cellar for our first dinner. It was only Thursday, so there was no live music, but the place was spacious in a big cool barn type building with awesome wall decor, a huge counter where you order and lots of tables on the outside patio. Greeted with a smile and took our order, paid and got a number to take to our table. I had the fish taco special and it was cooked perfectly. We also had the cowgirl junky thin pizza which hit the spot. Each of us got the lavender ranch water which was refreshing and flavorful. Can't wait to explore more and maybe hear some music this weekend. read more

Round Top is kind of a hidden gem and I always enjoy my visits here, but during our last visit, I got to experience the dining scene as well when we were treated to lunch here by a prominent resident and the food was excellent. The menu is pretty eclectic from Pizza to burgers to chicken fried steak to salads and apparently all of them are good. I was told that the Pizza that had been ordered the previous night was delicious and the people who had the burger and chicken fried steak in our table also said it was one of the best they ever had. I had the salad and it was good too though you should probably order something more decadent - I only got the salad because I had a couple of Buc-ee's brisket burritos for breakfast and was going to get more brisket on the way back ;) read more

I had not eaten onion rings and a cheeseburger in quite a while. When I bit into the Slim cheeseburger, I was pleasantly surprised at the crispness of the smash patty. The meat was seasoned perfectly and paired well with the hand breaded onion rings. Very delicious! Service was friendly and fast, too. read more

Definitely do not miss the Jon Perez lounge next to the Stonecellar. Their chicken fried steak is excellent, but the real hit is the crispy skin salmon on mushroom wild rice. One of the best dishes I've ever had! Very good service. Ryan, our sever, was excellent. We like the ambience at the bar too and they have great cocktails. read more

It's primarily a nighttime establishment it seems. We ate here for an early evening supper on a Sunday. We enjoyed the burger- but I understand why there is only one option for a single patty now, as the patties are like 1/2 a centimeter thick. It was good though. The pizza......... was pretty terrible. But drunk hungry people probably like it. I do wish they would use tallow to fry with instead of palm or vegetable oil disgusting-ness. Heavy sigh. Stopped here on the way home from Houston during a non- antique Sunday afternoon. There were a few people in the dance hall/bar area and on the sunny porch. The pizza with the thin crust and the Parmesan salad were excellent. read more

We were recommended to try this place from a friend, also excited to try it. I preface this by saying - I never leave reviews. Ever. But this needs to be addressed. Service was way less than par. No friendly bar tender here. Drinks were made quick - but menu knowledge was non existent. Food was brought to the table - but not what was on the menu. And when asked about it - we got an eye roll from the server. read more

I didn't have any food but I drank plenty beer. Ryaan was a fantastic bartender so make sure and ask for her. The music, Lightening Ben was terrific. The only reason it got 4 stars and not 5 is because it so freaking cold in the there. Bring a jacket if it's cold out. Other than that, solid place. read more
