Mead flight- Cranberry, Avril, Blackberry, and Cherry

The food was good and the drinks were even better. I personally had never had mead, and the staff helped me find what my taste preference was, and they were on point. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The fact you could feed the animals on the farm was awesome for the kiddos.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved the laid back vide of the place, it's quite except the animals, but that's a given.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It makes you want to disconnect from your phone and just be present.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Cute off-the-beaten-path stop on our way to Austin! The staff is very friendly and super helpful! They were very patient and spent a lot of time recommending and helping us choose meads, beer as well as food. The pizza was OK - but we adjusted our expectation that this is not a pizzeria. Mead selection was good. The grounds was amazing! I highly recommend making a stop here if you're looking for time yo slow down and be relaxed.

I absolutely love this place. Any time I am in the area I stop in to stock up on my favorite, their cranberry mead. I always like to sample what ever new meads and beers they have on tap though because you can't go wrong. They have a great outdoor sitting area with plenty of shade.

A great destination for those who want to get out of the city and enjoy some tasty meads. When one of my best buddies from business school flew into Houston, we decided to meet somewhere in the middle to catch up and we ended up here. When I arrived, a woman was outside playing some mellow songs on guitar that really set the mood. Due the location of this place, there are quite a few critters roaming around and it is not unusual to have a chicken or two join you at the tables outside. As a mead enthusiast myself, I was really curious what sort of offerings this place had. In my experience, it is often hard to find a place that makes meads that are balanced just right: too often the meads are either too cloyingly sweet or bone dry with no taste. However, all the drinks offered here were spot on. I particularly enjoyed some of the more unique meads, like the pear lavender melomel or the orange spice mead (which I believe is also a melomel). Again, with more unique meads it's easy to go overboard with adding spices and such, and this place delivered on making something that was balanced just right. We also ordered some of these bread poppers, which I don't remember the name of, that were very good--along with a tasty pizza. Definitely a great off-the-beaten-path place to check out, especially if you like mead!

I had the chance to visit the Rohan Meadery the other day, and I enjoyed myself (with a caveat). Finding the place isn't too bad so long as you are paying attention to signs on the side of the road. There is a good sign on TX-159 pointing out which farm road to take, and really the sign by their location isn't bad, but somehow I missed it the first time I drove by. I think I may have been distracted by something else (a Bugatti drove by at one point along there, moving at quite a clip, and it may have been right when I was passing the farm). One turn-around later and I found it without any problems. The meadery is on a farm that grows grapes, various fruit trees, and has an apiary for the honey. There is a large covered area for outdoor events or just a chance to sit and have a nice drink, as well as the main building that holds the various tanks and instruments necessary for making wine and mead. Inside there is a bar to order the various drinks they have on tap, as well as cheese boards that they have available. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable, and were able to answer my questions without issue. I went with a tasting menu, because I am always in search of a good mead and I tend to be picky. Most meads have a tendency to be on the dry side because of the wine industry, whereas I prefer my meads sweet, perhaps too sweet. They also offer their products bottled or in growlers, which is where I run into my caveat: the one mead I really found to be enjoyable was only available on tap, and they did not have any bottled. I'm sorry, but a place that makes and sells wine and mead, offers it all on tap, but then does not have any of that product being offered on tap and in a tasting by the bottle so that you can take some home with you to enjoy at your leisure is not thinking well in the business sense. The local area has a solid tourist flow, and those tourists want to bring things home with them and cannot simply return in a week when they (might) have some product bottled. I could understand if it were just one item on the board that was not available in bottles at the time, but it turned out it was actually a good percentage of the items I sampled were not available. I did enjoy my time there, and if you are going there to sit in what amounts to a beer garden that specializes in mead and wine, then it is certainly a good place to go.

It was our wedding anniversary and we had operated out of Covid caution all year. We had to find something that felt safe yet special. We're so glad we found this spot. Excellent service, amazing ambiance, fun tastings of honey wine called mead, and a charcuterie board bite to enjoy. Highly recommend as a friends' group, family or couples activity. They have an adorable playground for the kids too.

It's in the middle of nowhere but it's a nice facility. The cheese and meat tray was great. Tasty selections and varieties. The wine flight we had and tastings were of some pretty good wines. Our favorites were their specialities made with honey/mead. There is a large outside area with a stage (I assume for live music). The staff is informative and friendly. We will return.

Great food. Service was excellent. Ambiance was great. Quiet and secluded place to stop and have a drink and some good. Enjoyed our surprise stop!

My boyfriend and I found ourselves rolling into the Rohan Meadery on a chilly Sunday afternoon, after an overnight in Bryan. We did three tastings and fell in love with the cranberry, cherry and blackberry mead. We had a toasty pizza with it to round out our sweet lunch stop . Wendy and the staff were so friendly, helpful and quick to take care of us. We highly recommend this spot if you're able to spend the time. We took a growler of the Cranberry Mead home with us. It was a wonderful memory

Even though it was busy, service moved pretty quick and everyone was still friendly, which I always appreciate. And the food? So good. It was hot out and stores were staring to close, so we came here for some drinks and food to escape the heat. Of the several times that we've been to Round Top, we had never been to Round Top Brewing and were pleasantly surprised...by everything. The spot is cute and cozy--nothing fancy and plenty of charm that isn't too forced. We ordered food and drinks at the bar and then sat in their indoor patio area (no A/C but tolerable circulation with the fans). They make their own beer, and we both enjoyed the kolsch that we stuck with for the evening. As far as food, we shared a giant pretzel and our daughter got a plain pizza. The pizza is that cardboardesque version, but it was edible. The pretzel was decent, but definitely a frozen-to-oven situation. What we *do* want to shout out is the mustard it came with. It was SO good. We asked if it was homemade, and it allegedly was: so spicy and nasal-clearing and tasty. The mustard alone is what is pushing up from 3 stars to four! Bottom line: nothing crazy special, but a good place with friendly folks working and decent food and drink. Prices are consistent with the area, and it's certainly better than Mandito's and it beats the chaos of Royer's. We won't be back, but we're glad we tried it.

It's built inside a historic garage, and you can still see the brewing equipment from the taproom, which gives the place a cool industrial feel. No complaints about the food at all. The beer was delicious too. They had a wide variety of lagers, IPAs, sours, and even a barrel-aged stout, so there was something for just about everyone.
