He cleaned the firebox and did not remove the fan motor. That cost $239. He said it's a common fireplace and took the model number from it for a replacement fan. The man at the office called with the part number and said that it's an odd fireplace (Josh said it was common), he gave the part number and told me the cost for installing the part is $465. - $95 for a return trip, $150 for the fan - part number FP1908 (online it's $74.60.) plus a minimum charge of $200. Because the fan was not brought on the first trip, it will cost and additional $315. It appears their business model is to make two home visits instead of doing the job all at once.
