I've been going to charm city dental nearly 15 years...ever since my previous dentist stopped taking insurance. today took only an hour and 10 minutes from the moment I walked in, including an x-ray, getting anesthesia, and them doing the filling procedure, and then me chatting with Sadé in the office for a few minutes afterward. She said my mouth would be sore and tender for a while, but it's only been 2 hours and I can barely feel it.

When you get there, they always seem not to be expecting you. Then once they get started, it seems they are rushing to do 5 things at once. Like how can I make the next appointment while your hands are still in my mouth, and the assistant is handing me the spit cup? Why don't you already know what I had done last time? I can tell you but not while there are 4 hands and all kinds of tools in my mouth, and someone handing me things. Slow down and understand that patients are not pros at this. We get dental work done once in a while and it's kind of difficult for us. We shouldn't be asked to multitask while under duress and while paying top dollar, just so you don't have to spend one extra minute with us. I'd cancel my next appointment but I bought a membership on the strength of the first visit (prompt response to a painful need) so I'm just stuck I guess. I will speak my truth over and over again. After all was said and done I had a horrible dental abscess that caused the most excruciating pain that I have ever experienced in my life, and I blame this dental practice. Dr. Murphy spoke with me over the phone while I was in debilitating pain and had the nerve to suggest that he would "fit me in tomorrow for a trigger point injection". I blame this practice for being a poor representation of the dental community and whole-heartedly blame them for making me unnecessarily suffer because they have lost their way in patient care.

I immediately called my insurance company, and they confirmed that according to their records, I had nothing to pay. I returned to the office about 20 minutes later after speaking with my insurance, but they refused to provide my scheduled service and told me I would have to reschedule. I explained that I had arrived for my 9:40 appointment and that the only reason for the delay was trying to resolve the unexpected $87 charge. What made the situation even worse was that the young lady at the front desk started raising her voice at me. At that point, I decided it was best to simply leave rather than continue the argument. I will never come back to this dental office. I expected professional and respectful customer service, especially when I was simply trying to understand a charge that my insurance company says I do not owe. Extremely frustrating experience.
