Ever since I reached the point where I had to make a dental switch, I have been very happy with the dental team at McDonogh Dental. The staff is friendly and really makes an effort to have all their patients feel comfortable. They take appropriate COVID measures and everything from arrival to departure is positive. This place like to delete all the negative google comments or hide it. Run Run Run from this place. The turn over rate is very high for their employees and the ratio is 50 patients to 1 dentist or hygienist. Have broken computers and outdated equipment. Their medical assistants and people who work there will tell a person what going on behind the scenes if you know them well. Since the founder of the company retire it's falling a path slowly and soon will be shut down. Please start looking elsewhere before it's too late. read more

A dentist I saw there screwed up a basic cavity filling. As a result, I had a massive infection that leached into the jaw, causing weeks of pain and resulting in multiple very expensive surgery. Oh, and they held the $714 I had paid for a crown I never received hostage from March until November, until I asked for it back. As if that wasn't enough, they screwed up billing, never called me back when they said they would, and are currently trying to bill me for twice the amount I actually owe because they messed up with the insurance. This saga isn't yet over but I would encourage you to run, not walk, away from this place. They have one or two decent dentists but their inability to take responsibility for their mess ups, and their attempts to cheat patients, are beyond the pale. read more

The office is incompetent bordering on extortionist - while they made a mistake by not getting pre approval from insurance for procedure requested by patient, they then proceeded to bully patient by sending to collections and affecting credit score. Be very careful trusting anything usually expected of ethical practice. read more

I had a cleaning last week and anytime I go there Is different hygienist. The hygienist was a Lil late which I don't mind but she apologize. My wife and I have different dentists cause our insurance is not the same. Anytime I go to hygienist for a cleaning they will open up to me I guess because of my calm nature. She told me the company making lots of money and don't want to pay them well with great benefits so that's why former hygienists are not staying. She told me since Dr Charles retire the place got worst and she will not be able to give me a goodie bag cause they low in stock and I told her that's ok. I even ask her if they need donations cause I can ask the company I work for to donate cause they do lots of charity events. She say she don't know but it's not her business. I tell her a hygienist told my wife this place is not good and a dentist mess up her teeth but out of greatness she still see that dentist cause she rather a dentist who now come out of school than the ones in practice years. She told me I will advice you and your wife to do the same it's getting worst and they squeeze in many patients as possible and don't give good quality care. She was like see I have to see you in seven months for a next cleaning cause they not paying us well and I may not be there.Good luck but my advice you and your wife run from this place it not good and it have to many dentist around that area cause it's a saturated field to be coming in a bad place like this. read more

I have been a patient since 2019 when i got my braces. I was referred to them by my orthodontist and it had been a great experience each time. I am a patient of Dr Tosky, he is truly awesome. I was always afraid of the dentist because it can be frightening. I had some issues when I came to Dr Tosky and he made me feel comfortable from the first meeting. I had to once get a tooth extracted and it was out before i had the chance to cry. I will NEVER switch from Dr Tosky, no matter where i live, I will fly to see him. I am very serious though, he is a great at what he does and he ALWAYS will make you laugh even when you're not afraid. read more

This place is absolutely AMAZINGGGG!!!! I was traumatized as a teen after a horrifying dental experience. My anxiety is so bad that I have to take a sedative just to accompany my own teenagers to the dentist office. My oldest child (22 years old) picked this dentist for me as she felt comfortable and well cared for as a new patient there herself. I went to this office and was truly amazed by the care here. No dentist has ever gotten X rays of my back teeth due to anxiety and gag reflex. The hygienist did an amazing job. I could tell she was experienced and worked with me to get X-rays done and a good cleaning. 41 years old and this was the first time I could get X-rays of my back teeth. You will not be disappointed!!! read more

I was very impressed with McDonogh dental. Multiple sources had recommended different Drs. at the practice. They are an excellent practice. I had the privilege of seeing Dr. Tosky for my first evaluation and cleaning visit. I really like that they do the evaluation together with the cleaning at the first visit from the dentist. It's a chance for the Dr. and patient to not only get to know each other, but to get to know my teeth in a deep way. The hygienist Santana was excellent and very interested in doing things well. Dr. Tosky took his time and did a fabulous job. Also, answered my questions and sent me off after a thorough evaluation and some very clean teeth. I look forward to my next visit. The staff including Jennifer and company were very friendly inviting and warm. I am delighted to wholeheartedly recommend them. read more

I've been to the same dentist since I was a child. As an adult, and going through some more significant dental work, I realized how terrible this dentist was. That came to a head with a botched "crown" after a root canal. After 2 years (almost to the day), the pain got so bad, that I had to finally scramble one late late night in bed looking for a local dentist in my network. Enter: McDonogh Dental. I called that night and left a voicemail asking to set up an appointment. They called back the next morning and I was in a chair with Dr. Stein that day for an initial consultation and cleaning. She sent me to an endodontist for a multi-stage/visit root canal. I just finished that root canal procedure (a re-do of that aforementioned procedure). There were a few cavities on that root-canal'd tooth (under the crown). I have no complaints so far. Everything about McDonogh Dental has been the COMPLETE opposite of my previous dental experience: more than 1 dentist, professional office staff, technology, digital x-rays, 3D scans of my mouth to create the "crown", clean offices, willingness and knowledge to explain what's going on, answering my persistent questions. I will say, the billing aspect is a little new to me. With my previous dentist, I never paid for anything until it went through insurance (and rarely paid for anything period) - but I'm pretty sure now that he was scamming insurance, too. With McDonogh, they want some form of payment at time of service - which is based on an educated guess of what it might cost based on what insurance may cover. This did lead to some confusion with my procedure - that did get worked out. read more

I have been going to this practice for more than 10 years to see Dr. Lever, who is a truly wonderful dentist. Recently, I started seeing Dr. Shenk, as she is the Invisalign specialist in the office. I didn't know how I would feel about seeing another dentist, but I like the convenience of this office, how they call to remind you of your appointments, the calming waiting room with decent reading material, and that they are usually running (relatively) on time, and didn't feel any reason to research another option. I've enjoyed all the techs and hygienists who have worked on me, too, and sometimes, they can be even more important than the dentist. To my happy surprise, Dr. Shenk is wonderful too, but her best quality is that she is incredibly meticulous. That's what you want when someone is moving your teeth. My favorite part of the Invisalign planning process was when I got to watch a CAD animation of how my teeth would eventually end up moving. The worst part of the Invisalign process so far was the impressions. I am just not good at keeping my mouth open that long and was drooling like a fool, but Dr. Shenk did have a lovely calming candle burning. I will post an update when I see my new teeth! I recommend this practice all around. read more

I recently transferred my son from another pediatric dentist to here and he had a really positive experience. Dr. Sugarmann is very kid friendly. All I can say is WOW!!!! This practice has the nicest front office staff and the most amazing dentists! Plus the office is beautiful and high tech...usually you get one or the other so I feel like I've hit the jackpot!!! My 2 yo daughter went there recently for her first checkup and saw Dr. Tracy Stein. From the moment Dr. Stein and her assistant came into the room they spoke to my daughter with love, care, and respect even though she is only 2. They walked her through the whole process, explaining along the way, and showing her each tool they were going to use. This made my daughter super relaxed and it also made it fun for her. She especially liked the chair ride and TV in her private room playing some Penguin show. I never felt rushed and Dr. Stein took her time and treated my daughter like she was her own. I couldn't appreciate this Dr. and the service they provide any more than I do now!!! We already have our appointment for next year! read more

I found out why the reviews appear good. They sent me an email to review them, and because it was not good, they would not post it. I didn't realize it until months later that it wasn't posted. So then I went to yelp. They do not care if you have an awful experience because they do not contact you or try to make anything right. My first appointment I saw a dentist that seemed nice; I think he was one of the newer dentists. Their website says they are high tech, but there was none of the new evaluative tools that have become common place now. However, because the dentist seemed friendly and was at least trying, I called to make a follow up appointment when the pain increased, and also because my oral surgeon told me it was very important to see my general dentist to make a full plan as to how to proceed after a extraction. So I called and right away the receptionist got really nasty with me, and started arguing that the Dentist I asked for an appointment with was not the one I originally saw. Why did she have to be so rude and condescending? I know which dentist I saw; I tried to explain it but instead of double checking her records, she just got nastier. I was really being polite and understanding because she seemed really, really young. Then she told me I had already been referred to a specialist so she couldn't give me an appointment. Not true. The dentist there told me to let him know if the pain got worse so he could re-evaluate and recommend someone else if necessary. The receptionist seemed totally confused and transferred me to the office manager or some other girl, which didn't seem necessary to me but I though I could get it straightened out. However, when the office manager picked up the phone, she just started screaming at me before I said a word. I really never got a chance to speak or explain because she was screaming over me. I am 60 years old and I have never encountered in any type of company anyone so unprofessional and downright hateful, either in person or on the phone, in any line of business, especially in one that is supposed to help people with health issues. Needless to say I never got a follow up evaluation, I never got an appointment, I never got a dental plan for how to proceed after my tooth extraction, and I never even got a referral to a specialist. After ripping me up and down, the office manager or whoever she was, put me on terminal hold, and never picked up after so long I gave up, probably for the better considering what kind of people they are -- unable to act human. Please remember, for every good posting you see, there are many more that never make it to posting because this practice intercepts them. On the face of things, the reviews look good, but upon further inspection, there is only 1 review in the last 20 months. If each of 4 dentists sees only 5 patients a day, and works 20 days per month, after 20 months that is 8000 patients. What about the other 7,999 patient appointments? read more
