My mother had a tooth with a crown, and the crown broke off yesterday. I was able to get an emergency appointment for her - for this morning - with Dr. Allen. I spoke to Dr. Allen afterwards and she was *very* friendly & patient, plus I spoke to the receptionist a few times and she was very friendly & helpful. L was truly blessed and impressed with the warm, friendly, comforting and professional care on my first visit to Baltimore Dental today. From the start Rose and her polite, welcoming and cheerful spirit took away some of my anxiety. When Jeanne came to bring me back the welcoming, comforting and professionalism continued. Dr. Allen truly a down to earth and caring professional answered all of my questions in a kind soft spoken, understanding and informative manner. Dr. Allen shared the history of Baltimore Dental as well as some of her history and background which by this time I had decided this would be my home for all of my Dental care and needs. Today I had my preventive checkup at Baltimore Dental. As usual, Rivky did an outstanding job cleaning my teeth and they now do a 360 digital photo of all my teeth. Impressive! Then my dentist, Dr. Shirkin, checked my teeth and recommended a mouth guard at night because of the years of grinding my teeth. She and her entire staff are awesome! read more

First of all, all my previous experiences were excellent which mitigated my fear of dental care.. But sadly, my visit yesterday was horrible. My dental hygienic provider was new to me, her cleaning was rough and especially I told her, she hurt me. Her response was pretty much. I have to clean that area, you have plague buildup.." I asked you if you brush twice a day and floss" paraphrasing. I said no. You don't have to if I said no. Can we do the other part first..she then offered numbing. She finished the rest, went back to same area with out numbing.. I politely informed her that I felt she showed more emphatic and discussed plan of care later... She left me on the table. ..thought she was coming back ..but no!!! 5mins later, The Dentist showed up. I didn't even get rinse or flossing. My teeth did look great according to the dentist..she need me back for gum evaluation. I went for routine cleaning with no issues . This place was truly great but this experience is gonna set me back #DentistPhobiaPatirlent. read more

Doctor Yelena Shirkin, dental hygienists and front end staff were all friendly, professional and very competent. The staff may change from time to time but the services and professionality doesn't change. Anytime I needed a recommendation for other dental service providers for orthodontist and surgeons they have never disappointed me. I would definitely recommend this practice. read more

All of my experiences with this office have been very positive with the exception of my appointment yesterday for my biannual cleaning. It was nothing but a sales pitch for Invisalign! Both the hygienist and my dentist spent 90% of the appointment time discussing why I might be interested in their Spring Invisalign Special instead of cleaning and examining my teeth. I have no need for Invisalign, as my orthodontist for 10 years of my youth and my parents who spent thousands of dollars forty years ago to make my smile about as good as it can get agree. Any dental issues I may have are not due to aliment or crocked teeth! Disappointing! Baltimore is full of dentist; I wish I could find one with some integrity! read more

Baltimore Dental has gotten shady. I've been a patient of this practice for many years and was completely satisfied until recently. They've clearly made some deal with Invisalign, and that's turned them into salespeople first and dentists second. It looks like the practice singles out patients of a certain age to receive an elaborate scan of their teeth--probably with some machine Invisalign provided--during a regular check-up. They then scare you by pointing out all the areas of recession the scan has revealed, and push, push, PUSH Invisalign as the solution to the problem. They also add another pressure component by mentioning that the "spring sale" on Invisalign is expiring in a few days, after which you'll pay a few thousand more. (Invisalign does NOT help gum recession. If anything, it worsens it. Patients with receding gums should see a periodontist.) It's really upsetting to see how the practice has changed like this, and it's uncomfortable to be on the receiving end of sales pressure when you go for your six-month cleaning. It's bad vibes all around. I'm not hesitating to switch to a different dentist. read more

Dr. Shinkin tried to impress at first but do it her way only. When I said I want to do ABC she will say: "Yes, but now is a new method we doing it by XYZ". If you agree, she will proceed. She made the gap between the teeth bigger so the food is falling through now hurting the gam. She responded that she didn't make the gap bigger and insisted of offering a "cleaning sticks". I said to her twice that before she increased the gaps everything was fine but she was ignoring that. Appearing her main approach is to cut it off the material of your tooth saying to you: "Teeth carry the functional need to chew on the food, nobody will look into your mouth". The problem is human teeth don't re-grow like sharks teeth do. She will try to find any excuse on a question if can she make the tooth to be as it was before. Her will to redo her mistakes is completely "0". She will sit down and make excuses that she can't do anything about. Her approach is apparently to spend a 30" of her time on you per visit and make $$. read more

Have been a patient here for many many years. They use the latest technology. Had two crowns done by Dr. Feinsod with porcelain instead of metal and they look perfect. They were molded using a really cool machine. Had a cleaning with Val and she used an ultrasonic cleaner that left my teeth sparkling taking out all the staining I had. read more

HORRIBLE PLACE. These people have been rude off and on to me for too many years; today was the LAST time! As a parent, I was trying to communicate to the rude dental hygienist something in regards to my child prior to an x-ray. SHE NEVER LET ME FINISH MY SENTENCE! She just kept cutting me off saying: "It's ok, I got it, thank you" riddled with egotistical sarcasm. Nasty vibes and seriously disrespectful! What professional repeatedly cuts off the minor's parent whilst speaking before service? DISGUSTING, WIERD, and UNPROFESSIONAL! Then, as I leave, the two women at the front desk have something smart to say behind my back as I'm leaving. Wow - shady and immature much? Prior incident before this, the dentist repeatedly MISGENDERED my child and did not care if the hygienist (a different one) corrected her. Lastly, another time one of them were trying to FORCE me to take out my child's new ear piercings when I already said I couldn't.... for an X-ray that could've waited. These so called women are egotistical, rude, impatient, immature and UNPROFESSIONAL. Proceed at your own risk! read more
