Long story short- great drinks, fun place, amazing staff. Go here. You may think that you know of the best bar or brewery in Denver. You might think that whatever place you're thinking of serves the best "whatever", you might think it has has the best staff, you might think it has the best event calendar etc... Unless the place you are thinking of is Stem Ciders then you are wrong. I can't say enough good things about this place. First, I'll speak to their ciders. They have the best ciders I have tasted. I'm normally a beer guy, but Stem is turning me into a cider guy. Stem does a great job at having a large variety of very different, complex and tasty beverages. They have some sweet ciders, but not the usual diabetes inducing angry orchard style sweet. But where they really shine is their subtle drier ciders. I would akin the taste closer to good white wine than cider. Everything they make is super good, my particular favorite is their recipe called le chene. Their calendar is awesome. Like every bar They do geeks who drink on Wednesdays, they'll do a lot of music on Thursdays I think. But my favorite night to go is on Tuesdays. Each Tuesday they do a unique cider pairing ranging from cheese to cupcakes. I think they even have a slider pairing sometimes. Now, I don't yelp unless a the place is terrible or goes above and beyond. The reason I decided to write a review is that their staff is amazing. This week my girlfriend accidentally dropped a $100 bill on the floor after signing her check. We completely missed it as we were leaving and freaked out a little the next day. I went in to talk to Arlene (who always treats us great) and she took down my name and number. The next day I got a call from her and she told me that the bartender (Triss?) found it and that it was sitting at the bar for us. They could have easily told me that they couldn't find it and kept the $100, but they didn't. I have no doubt in my mind that any one of their staff would have done the same thing too. That kind of kindness is rare now days. read more

I really don't love ciders, but this place has the best ciders! I liked almost everyone I tried. They have special nights for music, or cheese/cider pairings. I went to a pairing with a friend. It was only $20 for a flight and plate of cheese. The flights also had a good amount of cider in them. In a cool area too. Would recommend for those who like drier ciders! read more

Stem Ciders - Cider and cheese pairing - Bars Near Me - Denver, Colorado

Sleek modern space, where you can sit and enjoy cider (or a flight of them!) and hang out at a table for an extended period of time without feeling rushed. The flights are a great option to try a bunch of different flavored ciders - my favorite is hands down the pear cider. read more

A welcome diversion from the ubiquitous Denver breweries. Stem is a cool little place offering a surprising variety of hard ciders. Some are pretty straight cider, some more adventurous. That makes it easy for almost anyone to find one to their liking. The space is cool with reclaimed wood everywhere, and the servers are super friendly and accommodating. The outdoor patio is a wonderful place to pass the time as long as there aren't two knuckleheads letting their weimeraners sit on tabletops and run around unleashed, pillaging the place. Or some smoker that thinks that smoking two feet away is OK, as long as you're on the other side of the wooden fence. read more

My husband and I got two different flights of cider and we both loved all the ciders on the flights. They have games and a great ambiance. Definitely recommend if you like cider! read more

Stem is one of my favorite places to grab a drink in denver. I really enjoy breweries, but it's great to mix things up once in a while, and when that happens I come to Stem for their great, bone-dry ciders. Most of the fruit (or is it still all?) is sourced from Michigan, and the flavors really shine through these ciders. The Remedy is my favorite (though a recent batch seemed a little off), and I really like some of their single-variety (Winesap) and barrel-aged iterations. Trivia nights here are fun, and the atmosphere is pleasant. I'll keep coming back. One quick reminder though: bone-dry ciders. Strongbow it ain't. read more

Stem Ciders is great. Go there. They have a great outdoor patio that is dog friendly, and just outside that patio are some awesome food trucks. The ciders are really good too. If you are a cider fan then definitely check this place out. read more

Went for trivia night. Got 8th place out of 16 teams. Pretty sure 1st place was cheating so that kinda sucked. The question that messed us up was about the song Where Are U Now. We thought it was by Justin Bieber but turns out he's just featured on it. Anyways fun night just wish they served tacos :/ read more

What's that? A micro-[fermented beverage establishment] in River North that ISN'T pretentious? No way! This place rocks. The decor is modern and cozy in amongst dozens of barrels with a great patio set up for nice days. On this particular day I went they were jamming 90s hip hop classics like 'Gin n Juice' and 'hypnotize'...right up my alley! Oh and the large flat screen with final four basketball made for some nice entertainment in the background during conversation lulls. Much to my surprise, just because there was sports on TV didn't mean there were dude-bros crushing bud lights and asking where the nearest golden tee was - contrary to popular belief. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed - perfect for some cider drinking. All that aside, the cider is fantastic, several variations that included dry-hopped cider, bourbon barrel aged cider and wine barrel aged cider, they were all spot on. I love Colorado Cider Co. but they have some serious competition now. Will definitely be back, and the great winery next door makes for a great afternoon experience. Looking forward to seeing this place grow! read more

A bit off the beaten path, but worth it! The cider doesn't contain artificial sweeteners so don't expect any super sweet creations but they are delicious. The vibe is very chill and casual. They could stand to have more seating...we have come before and left due to no places to sit or even stand. But it's a testament to the tasty cider!! Gluten free!! read more

The ciders here are great! They have games for a lazy afternoon. With the addition of the Booze market across the way my boo can get something a little stronger. There's also food trucks here pretty often for munchies. read more

Cute cidery tucked away in its own lot with an amazing view for sunset. Since I've started having issues drinking beer, I've had to switch from my favorites of lagers and stouts to cider. I love the light, crisp and bubbly feel in my mouth. This cidery allows you to sample each before making a decision. They also have flights and you choose what you want to try too. I tried a few and finally made my decision on the Birch and Bramble. A rosé colored cider with a sweet taste. It wasn't as sweet as most and I was happy with that. Some ciders get too sweet and its sickly. The ciders here are different in flavor and easy going down. The outdoor patio is lined with picnic tables and at the end there is a food truck. Which was busting out some amazing smells and I'm sure the food tasted great too! Just a small place and a relaxed vibe. Enjoyed unwinding here with my friends after a long venture through Denver and the Jazz Festival. Definitely a nice variety and Thursday nights they have live bluegrass. read more

Love this place! They have board games and a nice outdoor seating area. The cider flights and frozen cider are amazing!

This place is the total package. Great cider, great ambiance. It's tucked away in the many warehouses the surround RiNo. I saw a poster that says they have some sort of trivia night so it would be fun to go back for that. I think the only food they have available is from the food truck that sits outside the patio. Pretty close to the Cherry Creek Trail, as I biked here from the REI. read more

I could appreciate ciders and it is great to have that option amongst so many other good breweries in the area. I found the ciders fine but nothing special. I liked that the ones I had were more tart than sweet and it is interesting on how they use different methods to create varieties of ciders. I could see how this place might be a good stop in the afternoon on a beautiful day as the patio is situated in a perfect spot for it. I found the atmosphere inside fine but nothing special. Maybe I need to check out a night with entertainment one day. read more

Cool patio to hang out in the summer but Colorado Cider taste better.

Wow best beer ever!!! Nicole was the Apple of our eye and I fell from the Apple tree for her- best flight I've ever taken ;) #catchflightsnotfeelings read more

This place has a nice location in the middle of nowhere Lafayette, Colorado. We spent $67.00 (20% tip included) on two TINY burgers and two pints of cider... their burgers used to almost be worth the $15 they charge. I asked the waiter if they changed their burgers and he said "yes, we have a new meat supplier". It is a nice atmosphere, but if you're charging that kind of $ for a burger, it better be delicious and filling, especially if you're located in bfe Lafayette. Shape up or you will soon be shipped out STEM! read more

For our third stop on a RiNo brewery hop, we decided to switch it up with some cider. The interior of Stem is cute and quaint, with a lot of scattered tables and a small bar with a beautiful salvaged wood backsplash. They have a big garage door for nice days, which was open when we arrived. We sampled a few of their ciders before deciding. I tried their basic dry cider, as well as the green apple and raspberry, before settling on the Red Zin barrel-aged Le Chene. Although embarrassed to admit it, my most favorite cider in the whole world is the Woodchuck barrel-aged winter seasonal, and because of my love for oaky, vanilla-y ciders, I really enjoyed the Le Chene. It had a bit more substance than a regular cider, and I loved the smoky vanilla flavor. My biggest gripe was that many of the ciders tasted very strongly of the same stainless-steel tanks they had been fermenting in, and I noted a very metallic taste that really threw me off in everything I tried other than the Le Chene. I don't know if I would go out my way to stop in again, but they do weekly pairings with chocolate, cheese, pie, and macarons that seem fun. And I would probably stop in again if i was in the area. read more

My first cider tasting room on my Denver trip, Stem Ciders was a nice ending to my trip since I was beer, beer, beer the first few days. The guy behind the bar set me up with a tasting tray of ciders for me to try. I think I liked their Le Chene cider the best as it was not as dry as the other offerings they had. I also got one of their guest ciders, Cherry Glider from the Colorado Cider Company. No food offered here but they do have a small parking lot that is shared with a furniture store next door. read more

I've been coming to Rino Stem Cider location for years and live in the neighborhood. I've never experienced such an unfriendly employee/bartender at Stem or at any of the Rino breweries as I did tonight. Many of the Rino breweries like Stem have seen an explosion in business at the national level. However none of them have seen a drop off in customer service like Stem has. Do yourself a favor and skip this taproom, try the 15 others that are within walking distance. If you are wanting Cider, there is C-squared Cider a few blocks away, at least they are friendly. read more

This is a fun location to sip on some fantastic ciders!! They only thing lacking is shade outside. The CO sun is so bright, we had to move inside just so we could see. But other than that, we had no complaints. The staff was so nice and incredibly knowledgeable about the ciders. They were quite descriptive and on point when describing the flavors. My favorite was the Remedy, described as having flavors close to a sour beer. The banjo was quite interesting, with strong vanilla flavors. I wasn't so much a fan of that one. But speaking of banjo, they have great background music and it looks like live Bluegrass!! I predict Stem Ciders being a frequent spot for us this summer! read more

We tried three of the flights, which was really fun! It's a great way to step out of your confort zone and try different types, without committing to a whole glass. The atmosphere of the place is really great (and dog friendly!) and when you pair that with the amazing cider, it can't be beat! read more

Super cool place and love the events they do like macarons and cider pairing. Love all the ciders they offer. This place has a great outdoor seating area too. read more

Stem Ciders - Bars Near Me - Denver, Colorado

I loved coming to Stem Ciders. It was a little smaller than Epic was, and was only about a block or so away. They had some outside seating (and a food truck) and some tables on the inside that were a little quieter. I really enjoyed all the ciders we had - we got 2 different flights so tried 8 different ciders and then picked our drink from there. Everyone seemed pretty nice and the ciders were good. I'll definitely be back. read more

We happened upon this place on a random Tuesday night. They were having a macaron and cider pairing that night, but there was only us and another couple in the whole place. It was a crappy weather night, so maybe that was why. The macaroons were SOOOO good!! The cider is really yummy too, and it's a great change from beer. The guy at the bar (owner...?) is super cool, and was really helpful. My husband and I had the pairing, and another glass and played Chinese checkers;) haven't played that game in quite some time, and I'm glad to say that I still got the skillz. I would definitely go back, and if be curious to check out the vibe when they actually have some people in there. FREE PARKING IN DOWNTOWN, who'd have thought?! read more

I don't frequent the RiNo (read: Five Points) district very often living up north in Westminster, but it's where I'll park for a Rockies game and consequently, where I go for a couple drinks before the game. I've never been much of a hard cider person. I'll have it on occasion but don't really understand the nuances and complexities of it, especially when it comes to craft ciders. I also am not a fan of fruity, sweet ciders, which admittedly I'm realizing applies to generic ciders. I stopped into Stem on a whim one day on my way to a Rockies game, and I came away very satisfied! Their taproom is off Walnut a little so it feels more secluded and peaceful, and features a really nice patio with long wooden benches, beer garden style. On nice days the taproom opens right onto the patio, which creates a very open feeling space. Stem's ciders are a little different than most of the stuff you'll find at the liquor store. Most are barrel aged and have hints of oak and in general taste a lot more robust than sweet. The Banjo is the biggest example of this, which is one of their most popular, but at this point is seasonal. They have some with fruit flavors, but they use real fruit which makes the taste tart, blending well with oaky and peaty flavors. The bartenders here are very friendly folks and if you're new-ish to ciders like me, they can recommend something you might enjoy based on the kind of flavors you go for. If you're in the 'hood or just looking for a unique taproom in Denver, look no further than Stem! read more

Stem Ciders in the heart of RiNO has got it together. They have a nice, large, welcoming space. There is even an additional room for private events. Large tables for groups are available here. I have been here multiple times and every time service has been super friendly. I am not typically a cider drinker (beer, wine, and whiskey for me), however Ciders are definitely a thing and have their place. Gluten free with lots of flavor options make this a great drink on hot summer days or any day really. My favorite is the raspberry, but they have different flight options depending on your tastes. They also have slushees in the summer! Who doesn't love a slush?! They have lots of fun events here from live music to trivia and food trucks. Definitely make your way here to check out the patio, or hang in the space. They open earlier than most spots so it's a good first stop. They also have cans to go of most things on their menu. read more

Visited here for the first time last night. The cider selection was fantastic! You can do flights which is really cool and they also have slushies? WHAT? Jess was the bartender, she was very helpful and even took care of one of our flights for our friends birthday. No food truck which was a bummer but you can order food from anywhere you want. We will definitely be back soon. read more

This place is so wonderful! The ciders are delicious and the staff are experts at listening to your likes, etc. and giving recommendations based on those. They've got board games you're welcome to use and they often host live music and special pairings with local makers. I was there last week for a cupcake collaboration with Long Island Pie and yes and please and thank you. read more

We are still not terribly well versed in the nuances of craft ciders, yet we thoroughly enjoyed tasting all that Stem Ciders had to offer. We stopped in on a slow night and shared great conversation with our bartender. I like the unique, experimental nature of their offerings and particularly enjoyed the crisp, fruity style of the Malice and the bourbon barrel aged Banjo. The aroma wafting from the Indian food truck outside was hunger inducing and tempting if not for previous plans. read more

I went to Stem last summer, and though I enjoyed the cider, I didnt love the experience. I went back with some friends this weekend and had a great time. I love the music they play (mostly Bluegrass and country), great service, they had games you can play, a food truck, and some great ciders. Try the raspberry cider. its delicious! read more

Stopped here on our brewery tour! My favorite was the cider slushees! Refreshing and delightful on a hot summer day !

Really good cider. I also appreciate that they have non-alcoholic options. The seating always feels a little weird to me and like it's hard to find a seat since there are so many big tables. I wish there was more of a bar to sit at. Overall, really cute and I'll continue to come here. read more

Not impressed. While the ciders were decent, the service was beyond poor. We went in the afternoon and the 2 bartenders didn't bother assisting us -- we ended up going to the bar and ordering 2 tasters. You get to try 4 for $8. The bartender had us repeat our order back 3 times and still managed to swap our ciders around and left us to figure it out. The dogs outside were barking - our favorite cider ended up being outsourced and not their own. The final kicker was our bill. We were excited to try out our Denver Passport book which said you get "any cider" for free. The bartender ended up saying that he couldn't process the Denver passport. If "any" doesn't mean "any" they should really edit the wording or at least do the right thing for a first time guest. We won't be back. read more

I've been here several times and have tried just about every cider they have to offer and have truly disliked them all. I live around here and was so excited for this to open but upon going I have been disappointed. I will never return here due to the drinks. They do tons of cool events like trivia and live music but that isn't enough to come back. The crab apple cider is just down right awful, I love sour things and this wasn't sour it almost tasted rotten. I would definitely say pass on coming here to any new comers. read more

I really like ciders: they are refreshing, tangy, and great on a burning hot summer day, or a freezing cold winter evening. I didn't even know there were cider houses/breweries, didn't know that was a thing in the states at all. Pleasantly surprised to see it during a brew tour with some friends, and stopped in. Ciders were tasty, nice and cold, and they hit the spot. They were a bit busy, and only had one employee on, which seemed a bit odd for a busy weekend afternoon. Might also seem petty and weird of me, but the furnishings were not very comfortable. We came to hang out and relax, and everyone in my group had the same remark. Comfy the place up a bit, and you have a winner! read more

I really enjoyed stopping by Stem Ciders for a flight. A flight gets you four 2.5 oz pours. I tried the hopped one, raspberry, crabby, and l'acier. All were quite yummy and none were overly sweet. The atmosphere is cool, a kind of industrial meets barn renovated space. Service friendly and informative. Their glasses are so cute & they played great music. Just FYI glasses of cider range between 6 to 8 dollars. A little pricey, I think. I was hopping to get to go to Colorado Cider Company to compare, but they are only opened a couple days a week and closed on Mondays. read more

We were visiting Denver from out of town and we stopped here on our way home from a busy day. We sampled 4 of the ciders ($8) and then since it was Monday where you pay $10 for a souvenir glass which includes a cider and a free refill. We loved every cider we tried - we don't like sweet ciders and these were so refreshing and delicious. The vibe inside is super cool and rustic. They have games available and we enjoyed a few rounds of Uno. They have a patio with lights where people enjoy some cider with their furry friends and there is a garage door that can be opened to bring the outside in. This was one of the favorite parts of our trip! read more
