Others cry like little kids about how good their pizza is, but it always comes down to comparing themselves to New York, and they always lose. Chicago serves you a blumpkin in an oily pan and calls it pizza. It's a casserole. The Bears suck, too. Anyway, stopped by here on the way home from Philthadelphia. Their cheese pie was just ok. Like 6/10 ok. North of a supermarket pizza. But the veggie pie? 10/10 my friends. As good a veggie pie as anyone. Crisp, fresh, cheesy, thin crust....all the things that make a pizza a pizza. Not some deep dish nonsense. I only had 2 slices, so I can not fairly critique a place, but from my experience? I'd get that veg pizza any day. And I'm not some weird vegan or whatnot- they have issues- it was just flat out good pizza.

But the yellow stuff they put on for cheese I am not sure about it. We ordered the fries with the cheese on the side. Here where it get a little weird the fatty yellow stuff they call cheese does not melt if you reheat that stuff making me think it is really not cheese. Just use cheese whiz the real number one cheese. I would love to send whatever they call that stuff to a lab to be checked out. It can not be healthy for you?

Mind you, I USUALLY do NOT like Sicilian pie. But, what do you do when that's all that's offered? YOU EAT IT! This Sicilian is THE BEST I've ever had! The bottom crust isn't greasy or nasty like I'm used to. I couldn't believe it! I'm curious to try their other menu items; however, I love pizza so much that I'd be hard pressed to try anything else!

So much of what I regularly crave can be found on the Montesini menu. I've yet to be anything less than thoroughly rocked by the food. The tomato pie is to die for, even three days later. Montesini's eggplant Parmigiana is the first example of the dish I've ever tried, and I was addicted after my first hesitant nibble. They even have cannoli on the menu, and I have spent YEARS looking for a place that both delivers and features my favorite dessert -- there's nothing better than sweets delivered right to my door. And the burgers are as good as the pasta, which is just as good as the Italian hoagies (and Montesini deigns to make my hoagies just as deliciously drippy as I like 'em). This is one of the few places where I'm trying to sample everything on the menu, instead of my typical M.O. of getting hooked on one item and ordering it over and over and over again. I still can't pick a favorite dish. And when they say a delivery will be there in half an hour? it's a generous estimate, as we've never had to wait the full 30 minutes for a delivery guy to present us with a box full of food that'll keep us happily fed for days.

I got the chicken parm dinner that came with soup or salad, their pizza bread, and choice of pasta. Sauce was very tasty and the chicken was nice and thin while still having some meat to it. We did order the buffalo chicken bites that we thought would be more like a mini panzarotti but they were just boneless wings. Tasty but not how the website described them.
