Steer N Stein in Rancho Cucamonga has that classic old school steakhouse vibe that instantly feels comforting. The atmosphere is nostalgic in a way that makes you want to slow down and actually enjoy your meal. The food was delicious and hearty, exactly what you hope for when you walk into a place like this. The service was friendly in that genuine, old fashioned way that feels increasingly rare. It's the kind of spot that reminds you why longtime local favorites stick around.

Always pass by this establishment but never really appeal to me. Today decided to give it a go. Food: 7 oz sirloin & baby back ribs with grilled shrimp. Grilled patty melt and pepper steak with veggies. Con's: steak was ok not much seasoning but tender the ribs not really good dry and hard a little to much BBQ sauce shrimp could use more time on the grill Pepper Steak not much seasoning just ok. Patty melt good. Other than the Rib Eye most steaks are sirloin. Service: real good and attentive Ambiance: just an old steak house nothing fancy which is ok. Unless someone in my family wants to go back I will but not a place I pick to many steak places better for the price

I have been going to variations of this restaurant with different names but the same menu for years since I was a little boy and I'm gonna be 62 in June the food is always good. The service is always good. The atmosphere is great. I've never had a bad meal there and will continue to go back until I can no longer chew a steak ha ha ha.

It has been years since I've been to a steer n stein. As a kid my parents would go at least once a week so I have so many good memories there . My grandpa lives near this location and my mom was in town so I made the long trek up to Rancho to eat lunch with my mom and I had missed my favorite, the fried zucchini. Walking in took me back to early 90s like I had been transported me right back to my childhood . I will say I failed as an elite because I was so busy catching up with my mom I literally took only one picture :( The zucchini and ranch were just as i remembered it, so good ! Everyone I was with got steaks , I got a hamburger . The steaks were decent , but for the price just go to a different steakhouse . Hamburger I'm pretty sure was just a frozen piece of meat that comes from a box or something cheap. It was poor quality but of course I still ate it . For a bill of 200$ for 5 people this place should have been much better . It felt like low budget food but set at an insane price . Even the zucchini was 16$. I'll probably never come here again , unless it's just for the zucchini but even then I probably won't.

Worth the wait. A crowded restaurant on a weeknight is a good sign of a good meal. Eventually was seated in a booth in the dining room. Pink lemonade tastes freshly made and was tasty. Zucchini fries are a highlight, dipped in tempura batter light and easy to eat. Steak and burger were nothing special but good nonetheless.

We love the zucchini and was looking forward to the fish & chip since they use the same batter as the zucchini. Was very disappointing. Fish was only two small pieces for the price. Service by Stephine was great. She's friendly & been there 30 years. We've been coming her for 20 years.

Went here for dinner recently, and still dreaming about their zucchini appetizer. It was crispy and delicious even without ranch dressing to dip! They also had loaded baked potato skins and fried onion ring tower, but my favorite was the fried zucchini. They also had a large sized strawberry lemonade which was standard. I got their grilled cod lightly seasoned with no butter with veggies and side salad. Each plate came with buttery, cheesy, garlic toast, which was good but I think had too much butter in there. Butter lovers would rejoice though. My husband got their marbled rib eye steak with the same sided and thought it was good. He's had better, but overall it was sweet and juicy, and not too chewy. Overall, not too shabby for a first time visit. Wish they had more options for non-meat eaters, but I was still content with the selection provided.

The service is great, seated quickly for an early saturday dinner. Staff is pretty attentive. Place has some LED lights now, so it's a tad bit brighter; it's ok for steak places to be bright, doesn't impact the food. We had a mixtures of things, the steak sandwich was good as was the mash side. The burger tasted like it was actually ground in the back and not from frozen patty pantry the 1 piece of bacon on it was pretty good, bulky and seasoned as was the beef; the pickles paired with the beef to offset the richness; all in all a good burger The side chili beans was a good pick; actual meat in the beans; no hint of just adding bbq sauce; some time was put into the recipe on this one; give it a shot. The steak was hit and miss various consistencies in the cook; and the side potato was eaten without complaint. The homemade slaw surpassed other places pre bought in bag options. Parking is a little tough due no fault to the restaurant of course. Price a little high for a burger at $15 base, steak sand at $17 and steak at $20; I suggest drop the burger price a bit to compete with your across the street full in n out at $8 for a meal.

If you're looking for cheap steak on a budget, Steer 'n Stein gets the job done--you get what you pay for. The meat cuts are low quality, the veggies come out soggy and steamed, but the baked potato is solid (hard to mess that one up). What really disappointed me, though, was the $16 charge for sautéed mushrooms and onions. The menu listed mushrooms as an extra for $4, so I asked if they could sauté them with onions. They said "sure"--never mentioned it would cost another $4 for the onions, and even added a second charge for the same toppings on both steaks. When I questioned it, the response from the waitress was careless: "That's just what it is," and she walked away. No explanation, no accountability. Steak's cheap, but communication and transparency? Even cheaper.

Walked in with a party of 11 with no reservation, waited around 35 minutes for a table to open up. In the end they offered us two separate booths which meant the whole party could not sit together. This was fine with us since we were hungry and wanted to just eat. Server was friendly and quick with our drink refills, and also brought out the food in a timely manner. I ordered the steak and ribs combo with the chili bean soup as my opener. The soup was surprisingly flavorful and opened my appetite for more food. The steak itself was tasty, but not the best I have had. The mashed potatoes were very soft, but a little bland on its on. The gravy helps a little, but I don't think I would order that side again. Kinda wish I got a baked potato instead. The ribs were the best part of my dish. Fall off the bone tender and sweet tangy bbq sauce to go with it. I would come back just for the plate of baby back ribs.

Since nineteen sixty seven or over fifty years they've been grilling it up for the locals. So we just had to find out why this place is popular and why they were voted Best steak ten years in a row in the Inland Empire. The place has that old west type of feel with the sticky floors and dark lit atmosphere. The service is super friendly all around and that's one thing I know the locals love. The first time around I ordered the Specialty Steak which was a seven ounce sirloin. It actually reminded me of home grilled carne asada which was alright with me. So the second time around I had the Rib Eye that was supposed to be well marbled and the juiciest of them all but it wasn't. Hey, everyone has an off day or maybe it's the Tariffs man but you get what you pay for. The prices are fair and that's compared to the others and that right there is probably why it's popular plus some people just like things the way they are and they are use to it. And that's my take, Peace...

Specialty steak was very tasty and cooked to perfection

Service was good, but the ribeye was sub par and under seasoned. I had to add a lot of salt and pepper just to make it edible.

    Indoor seating and no reservations.

Are you guys still in business? Because the phone number doesn't ring (sound like non existing number dialing)

I've been to Fogo many times, and this was the first time checking out Texas de Brazil, and I have to say, I think I like Texas De Brazil better! The meat service at the start of the dinner was admittedly slow for what looked like the entire restaurant, there was a solid 10-min where no meat was coming except for a chicken sausage. I think that is because they were cooking the meats, because soon after, a bunch of meat started coming out of the kitchen all at once. The quality of the meat was great! The salad bar I think is better than Fogo: I felt the veggies and salads tasted fresher and the area around the salad bar was cleaner. The cheese bread and plantains were amazing as well, much better than Fogo for sure. Overall, I really enjoyed this place and if I am craving Brazilian BBQ again, I'll head over here.

Everything was fresh, flavorful, and the chimichurri is honestly the best I've had outside of homemade. I also personally think the meats here taste better than at Fogo de Chão. This visit wasn't as strong as previous ones though. The meats were not seasoned as well this time, and there weren't many well-done options available. Some medium well cuts were coming out bloody and a little tough, and a few meats weren't as hot as they should've been. The biggest issue was consistency with the meat service. We were sitting near the bar area (not at the bar), and it took a long time for meats to come around. We kept requesting certain cuts and they either took forever or never came until much later. This has actually happened to me before here too. That said, our waitress R.H gave some of the BEST customer service I've had in a very long time. She was AMAZING. From start to finis. She should be head trainer! Lol She kept checking on us, putting requests in, and really trying her best to make sure we got what we asked for even when the meats still weren't coming out quickly. Some of the churrasco servers were also really good about making sure we eventually got certain meats. Overall, it was still a nice Mother's Day experience and I definitely left full and happy spending time with my son. I just wish the meat service was faster and more consistent because this place really does have amazing flavor potential. One thing I noticed there was a guy walking around our entire visit with a CIA demeanor. I believe he could have been a GM. Blue shirt on. Walking around just looking and never once greeted, smile or asked if anyone was doing ok. They should have a friendly person who likes being around ppl & understand customer service. & knows how to really be in charge the correct way handle that position. Restaurant is nice & clean. Dim lighting.

I had the BIEST PESTO and it was super flavorful. The ricotta drizzled with the spicy sauce was amazing. The broccolini was probably my favorite part. Also, we were planning on going to Monaco's, but forgot it's Thursday...big deals on big pizza on Thursdays at Monaco's means big crowds. But it set our tastebuds into overdrive for savory Italian food. We should have guessed when we drove up and got a parking spot in front of an empty restaurant at 6 pm that it was going to be subpar, but we forged ahead anyway. We were greeting by a young man who kept referring to us, the two middle-aged women, as "you guys." Then asked if we had reservations...to an otherwise empty restaurant. The place was well decorated and light, though it was drafty and cold. And loud. Very loud for no one being there. The music, though a good playlist, was way too loud for such an echo chamber with nothing but hard surfaces to bounce off of. We weren't quite sure who our server was, but the young lady that took our order again referred to the two middle-aged women as "you guys." Ugh. Decent focaccia bread with dip arrived. It was OK, but cold. The food arrived in a decent timeframe, but the undercooked, starchy spaghetti was not quite warm enough. After asking three times for silverware, we finally got utensils, adding to the cooler temp of the food. So now that primary reason for a so-so review: The food was just OK. Not only was it not warm enough, but it was bland and lacked any presentation. Chicken Marsala had onions but no garlic, so it lacked depth. The Pomodoro was served with their standard marinara sauce, not pomodoro at all. Pomodoro should be a light and bright sauce with chunks of chrushed tomato, not bland marinara sauce that you would serve a seven year-old. The orchiete pasta were also undercooked...not quite al dente, not quite cooked. Lastly, there was some sort of photographer there. Part of the reason our food was cold is because he had to take multiple photos or our food from multiple angles. I could see the steam rising from it when it was being photographed, but the heat was dissipated by the time it arrived on our table. Without silverware. Then I noticed the photographer taking short videos while we were eating and we were part of the background. I prefer not to be photographed, especially by strangers. So this felt intrusive. Biest has potential, but it has a long way to go. Three things could help: 1. Train the staff not to refer to guests as "you guys." 2. Work on the preparation and presentation of the food. 3. Decrease the volume of the music. All it does is make people have to talk louder which adds to the cacophony. Oh, and don't make it look like you're photographing guests without their consent
