Went here for Mother's Day, and although it was very crowded due to the day, the experience was great overall. I've been to Fogo many times, and this was the first time checking out Texas de Brazil, and I have to say, I think I like Texas De Brazil better! The meat service at the start of the dinner was admittedly slow for what looked like the entire restaurant, there was a solid 10-min where no meat was coming except for a chicken sausage. I think that is because they were cooking the meats, because soon after, a bunch of meat started coming out of the kitchen all at once. The quality of the meat was great! The salad bar I think is better than Fogo: I felt the veggies and salads tasted fresher and the area around the salad bar was cleaner. The cheese bread and plantains were amazing as well, much better than Fogo for sure. Overall, I really enjoyed this place and if I am craving Brazilian BBQ again, I'll head over here. read more

We drove up from San Diego for a friend's 50th birthday party. Her husband created the event and had been in contact with the manager to ensure it was fantastic. Unfortunately, they didn't even try. We were placed on the outdoor patio; there were 18 of us. First issue, they didn't set the tables for the correct number of people. Second issue, we had to beg and plead to have the gauchos serve us. They would come to the door, say who would like XXX, and if someone didn't immediately raise their hand, they would go back inside. Even if one of us raised our hand, they would not go around the entire table asking people if they would like to be served that meat. Third issue, my husband and I were served undercooked pork. They removed them from our plates immediately, and we never saw pork again. Fourth issue, if we requested a specific item, we would have to ask several times until someone served us our food. Fifth issue, they never brought out the accompanying items that are automatically served on the table, ie, cheese bread, mashed potatoes, bananas, etc. We would have to wait until our server came out to the patio and then request the items. They would NOT ask if anyone else at the table would care for anything. Sixth issue, they acted as if we were in drought conditions, asking for water was torture. We finally got up and brought over our own pitchers to the table. The seventh issue was that the busboys kept trying to take our plates away. Several times, one of us would have to grab our plate back. EIGHTH issue, when it was time for the cake, they brought us a steak knife to cut the cake, NO serving utensil, and saucers from coffee cups as our dessert plates. I asked for larger plates, and they brought us 11 HOT dinner plates. Just a reminder, there were 18 of us seated. You do the math; they certainly couldn't. I love Brazilian steakhouses, this one is almost the worst one I have been to, it comes in at a very close second. I would never return to this location. I felt sorry for the birthday girl. The tables here are very close together. It's feels a bit claustrophobic. My experience also felt very rushed. Didn't really have time to enjoy the variety as someone was constantly approaching the table to offer more meat. I mean that's not the worst problem to have but we couldn't just sit and savor. So we came here on a evening outing since we hadn't tried it yet. Now I will say this, the style of people coming here ranges wildly from business casual to shorts and t-shirts which I thought was funny. We couldn't tell if this was supposed to be a classy upscale or low key family joint. The "Open Table" reservation system, table settings, full bar, and lighting scream moderately upscale but the salad bar/buffet style says bring your kids. The salad bar itself was fairly cramped space wise trying to maneuver around other people plus if you're tall, like me, you're going to be running your head into the hanging plants directly over the salad bar which is weird. The salad bar was decently stocked with options from salads to quinoa and green beans. The hot options ranged from jasmine rice, potatoes au gratin, and lobster bisque. For the main pieces, servers walked around with meats on a skewer serving them as requested. These included chickens, lamb, and beef various ways. Now overall, the food had good flavor and was cooked well. The price for the meal, $62 per person, wasn't too outrageous given all you get, considering they just keep coming with meat until you flip your table card to red. There's plenty of parking, and we came back for the third year in a row for our Valentine's dinner -- it's basically a tradition at this point. Pro tip: book at least 3 weeks ahead, and if you want to save yourself from the Valentine's chaos, go the day before or after. The crowd wasn't too wild tonight, but the restaurant was still PACKED (because everyone knows it's good). The ambience is always a win -- super open, lively, and the whole place just feels fun and inviting with so much food everywhere you look. Now, first-timers... listen closely: do NOT let the fries, mashed potatoes, cheese bread, and other "fillers" trick you. They are delicious, but they will absolutely take you out before the main event. Pace yourself!! They brought around 6-7 different cuts of meat, including picanha, filet steak, chicken parmesan, BBQ drumsticks, sausage, and more. Everything was flavorful and juicy, but we honestly got full way too fast thanks to the salad bar. And that salad bar? So many options -- fresh salads, sides, little goodies... it's dangerously easy to overdo it. We went to the Rancho location, which is cheaper than Irvine, and I actually prefer this one more. My family has eaten at several Texas de Brazil locations, but the RC location was one we haven't been to yet. I made and received a confirmed reservation via my OpenTable app for a 1730 time slot on a Saturday night. I also responded affirmatively that we were celebrating an event. I allowed plenty of time to arrive here, yet the traffic in and around this restaurant is an absolute cluster, especially on Foothill Blvd: one might consider entering this shopping center parking lot from a different direction using other surface streets. Parking anywhere near this restaurant adds yet another several minutes of finding a parking space, even when you distance yourself farther away. Once parked, the wait to check in was short. I was greeted by a friendly hostess who confirmed my reservation and party size and again asked if we were here for a celebratory event. I replied affirmatively and told her we were celebrating our youngest son's graduation from a nearby Technical school. Our reservation name was soon called, and we were escorted to our table. The first observation I made was how cramped this restaurant felt as we walked between already occupied diners sitting at their tables. The tables are so close to each other that a gentleman kept shoving his chair into our table every time he got up from his table; his wife finally caught on by my wife's evil look at her and grabbed his chair to prevent this. After we were seated, a very personable and efficient young gentleman introduced himself to our table as "Curtis". He asked the standard questions regarding our dining experience(s) at Texas de Brazil and took our drink orders. Once that was done, he let us loose to check out the buffet area. I understand that 1730 is in the realm of the prime dinner hour. However, I was not expecting what was presented to us and fellow diners at this location. 1. It seems that because this Texas de Brazil is scaled down in size overall, the buffet area is much smaller than other locations we've eaten at. 2. The smallness of the buffet creates a swarm of hungry folks dodging in and around the buffet offerings, because it seems the staff was not keeping up to ensure there was not any offering completely missing (like the Prosciutto). Folks kept cutting in front of me as soon as they brought out a fresh plate. 3. The hot offerings when we looked were all empty or left with sadly only a couple of servings left. I mean, how do you not have enough plain rice, rice and beans, and all the other hot offerings staged in the kitchen area area ready to deploy on the depleted buffet line during the busy dinner hour rush????? As always, the parade of meats arrived from the kitchen to be offered to our table. As always, the meats we chose were absolutely delicious, juicy, and seasoned properly. I did notice there is a subtle way they get you to finish dinner: the meat parade slows down. In fact, I was observing the entire room of diners: they started asking us what meat or meats you would like more of, specifically sent from the kitchen. Throughout our dining experience at this Texas de Brazil, our server, Curtis made it a truly enjoyable celebratory dinner for us. He was there on cue to bring more bottled water, refilling our goblets as needed, making sure what meat selections we liked were bought out again, and suggested a meat (Spicy Sirloin) to try whiuch our son and I really liked. It has a nice heat element to it, so be aware. The one negative that occurred here was that both my wife and I, a couple of hours after eating, suffered minor G.I issues. It took several minutes to compare what we all ate, but the only common item that both of us ate, and our son didn't, was the whipped goat cheese spread. While we really enjoyed our dinner at this location, this restaurant's physical size, closeness of the dining tables, and inability to keep the buffet food items adequately stocked during the dinner hour rush are shortcomings that will probably be the deciding factor to drive further to the Irvine location for future Texas de Brazil meals. read more

Celebrated Mother's Day early at Texas de Brazil with my son, and overall we still had a nice experience. The salad bar alone is one of the best restaurant salad bars I've ever had. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and the chimichurri is honestly the best I've had outside of homemade. I also personally think the meats here taste better than at Fogo de Chão. This visit wasn't as strong as previous ones though. The meats were not seasoned as well this time, and there weren't many well-done options available. Some medium well cuts were coming out bloody and a little tough, and a few meats weren't as hot as they should've been. The biggest issue was consistency with the meat service. We were sitting near the bar area (not at the bar), and it took a long time for meats to come around. We kept requesting certain cuts and they either took forever or never came until much later. This has actually happened to me before here too. That said, our waitress R.H gave some of the BEST customer service I've had in a very long time. She was AMAZING. From start to finis. She should be head trainer! Lol She kept checking on us, putting requests in, and really trying her best to make sure we got what we asked for even when the meats still weren't coming out quickly. Some of the churrasco servers were also really good about making sure we eventually got certain meats. Texas de Brazil has always been my favorite Brazilian Steakhouse, ive been to their other locations and always left happy, it was my first time here and we were a party of 4 with reservations on a busy Saturday night, we got seated right away our server took our drinks order and we headed straight to the salad bar, everything was fresh and delicious and we couldnt wait for the meats, 20 mins later the first meat arrived, another 15 for the second and another 15 for the 3rd, then stopped then another 15-20 for the 4th which was the first type of meat that was served then stop again, the rest of the different type of meats didn't arrive till an hour later and we heard the tables all around us complaining as well to the server and he did say that the kitchen was backed up, I know its not the servers fault but come on, the rest of the meat came out after an hour and 20 mins at that time we were full asked for the check, we were not happy. Me and my mother went today to Texas de Brazil for lunch around 12:35 pm, April 24, at the Rancho Cucamonga. We were seated, ordered drinks, and went to the buffet. When we came back, they started bringing the meat. A few minutes later, a busser dropped plates and glasses from the table next to us, and everything shattered on the floor right beside us. The broken glass was at our feet and in between us. It was an overwhelming situation, and no one immediately stepped in to properly handle it. No one helped us or checked on us right away, so we had to get up and move ourselves to another table. At that point, we still hadn't even received our drinks. We asked the manager, Roberto, for assistance, but we kept waiting. The service after that was just as bad. We had to ask multiple times for our drinks, and refills never came unless we kept insisting. At one point, I had to drink from my mom's cup because mine was never refilled. The server barely checked on us and was more attentive to tables seated after us. I also had to keep asking repeatedly for meat service. On top of that, we had to ask for the check, and even after waiting, no one came to take our payment. I ended up having to go to the register and pay with other servers because no one came back to our table. When we got home, we realized my mom had actually cut her leg from the broken glass. The purpose of this review is to inform about the lack of service, poor management response, and absence of proper quality and safety checks. Situations like plates and glasses falling near customers should require immediate and thorough attention, but instead, no one took responsibility and we were left to handle it ourselves. The dining experience is a single price. An open salad and sides bar is self-service, as skewers of meat are brought to your table and sliced to your liking onto your plate. Proteins are mainly focused on beef cuts, but sausages, chicken, and lamb may be available. Picanha is the main showpiece. A beef sirloin cut with the fat cap still intact, giving this cut an unmistakable flavor and texture. Tri-tip is also a favorite and is often served along with skirt steak. From a first experience, the service level seemed to be a hit or miss. At the start, the skewers seemed to come often as our empty bellies were filling up with anticipation. The atmosphere was lively, but the cuts were thin, prompting us to ask for a couple of slices for those in our party who had bigger appetites. For a busy Saturday evening, the only skewers that came around were Picanha, Tri-Tip, Skirt Steak, Parmesan Chicken, and Sausages. We asked for revisits several times to our servers, but the skewers never returned. By the time our evening was drawing to a close, those of us who were asking for more Tri-tip became annoyed. At the end of our dining experience, we witnessed other types of meat being served at other tables. Bacon-wrapped chicken and Beef Ribs were items we missed, and I was wondering why they wouldn't be available for our party. We understand if something wasn't available that evening, but the timing was certainly discerning. The salad and sides bar is modestly stocked. You have cold salad items, Charcuterie items, green beans, asparagus, potato salad, and a nice Gratin. Rice and Beans was delicious for a nice hot item. Mashed potatoes and plantains are served directly at your table. Oddly, the plantains just tasted and looked like pan-fried bananas with no caramelization. The choice of salads and vegetables are more than pleasing. The restaurant is very clean and neat and the ambience is excellent. My only complaint is some of the flowers/plants that are hanging over the salads Will hit you in the head. The cheese bread was a little hard and it could've been softer, but other than that everything else is good. Except for one more thing, I don't remember what cut of meat it was, but it was a little bit tough that was the only disappointment. The reason for the 4 stars is the first ones that came were the best meats and I did not ask for too much as I knew more meat was coming. I really enjoyed one of the first beefs and I kept asking for beef but never got the one I liked at the beginning. If i went back I would enjoy the meats that came out first and I would know the names of the meat so I could request the meat. I felt the beef that came later was not as good as the first beef they served. Very cool experience. I would give it a 4.5. This was our fist visit here, and when you check in with your reservation they ask you. If this is your first visit. I feel this was a missed opportunity for the hostess to sit us near the buffet. An opportunity to impress us by putting us close to the action for our first time. I mean the lighting was different and more welcoming closer to the buffet, Instead they sat us in a corner next to a register where it was darker. Now our waiter Jeff, he was so welcoming and willing to explain the process to us as it was our first time . We walked over to an amazing selection of cold options, my favorite being the shrimp salad with sliced jalepenos. The pickled garlic and green beans were crunchy with roasted almonds. The hot items brought to our table were also good, the mashed potato's were creamy and the fries came out crispy and hot. The lobster bisque is a must have, so creamy and packed with so much flavor. Now to the beef, the house special pichano was amazing the char on the outside was outstanding, rare and just perfect. The fat just melted in my mouth. The garlic filet cut and the flank steak, so tender and again cooked perfectly. All the other proteins did get the same care. The bacon wrapped chicken breast was dry and the Parmesan crusted pork loin over cooked. The sausages were juicy and had a great smoky flavor. The spicy filet was over cooked but had great flavor. Another downside was the lack of a bus boy to remove the empty glasses. Now if we had a bigger table it would not be a problem, but since it was a small table, we had no room for our server to carve meat for us. We ordered drinks, an Arnold palmer but my husband did not care for his. So he switched it to a coke. Little did we know that we would be charged for both. That was a little disappointing. To start off with it all - while it looked very nice inside - my party of 3 (celebrating a birthday) had a reservation at 8, though disappointing enough, we still had to wait around 30 minutes...it seemed crowded during this time and their indoor waiting place is quite small, so many people had to wait outside. (In fact as I'm writing this...party of 2 that just entered immediately was taken to their table.) the ambiance itself in the building is loud and crowded - and maybe because it was a Saturday, a day before the Super Bowl game - people were just excited. Now food wise - it smells great. More so I was able to smell the different meats and seeing the waiters(?)- not sure what they're called - bring the meat and cut slices for you. One of the servers was funny and had nice conversation with us. As for the buffet, I absolutely love the potato scallops dish and the salad. My party and I got full pretty quickly after two plates from the buffets and around 5 rounds of different meats. Basically, you grab a plate and you get your own cold veggies (olives, pineapple slices, mushrooms, potato salad, garlic pieces, onions, salad) and warm sides (white rice, shrimp scampi and lobster bisque soup) Think salad bar. Then you sit and wait for the serves to come around with their gigantic meat skewer when they carve the meat off for you. Your server then brings you some warm cheese bread, mashed potatoes and plantains. Speaking of server, our server Jackie was fantastic. Jackie was the most attentive server I've had in a long time. She was lively and very courteous. She also had a great sense of humor! The seating was a little bit tight and it was a packed house on a Friday night. It was also very very cold so I would recommend bringing a jacket if you're having dinner there. The bathrooms were clean and the ambiance was very alive and loud. I found the model dessert tray kinda funny because people were trying to grab the dessert off of it, not knowing that they're just models for the waiter to bring around. So you can pick which dessert you want when you're done with all your meats and veggies. I can see how that can be misconstrued at your first time here. I love visiting my extended family in Rancho Cucamonga because it means I get to eat at Texas De Brazil. The service is amazing and so is the food! I enjoy all the fresh food at the salad bar. The meats are absolutely delicious. This is a definite favorite of ours. read more

Everything could've been better tbh. I came in with my party of 4 more, so 5 and the whole time the whole table was complaining. It seemed like everything had to be asked for twice before it came out. My parents really wanted A1 and hot sauce and it took 10 mins til it came out. And for most of the duration they just kept coming around to our table with the basic stuff: all the unwanted variations of chicken and the cheap cuts of meat. We had to ask for the lamb leg twice until it came around. And when they did finally come around with the filet: it was cooked medium well: it was too tough to eat and just wasn't hitting for us. We complained once again, stating that it was too well cooked, and when they brought it around again for a third time... it was raw. I had a gift card for this place and me and my wife were actually excited to go as many friends had talked about this restaurant. The restaurant was very nice, I was amazed at how beautiful it looked. The waiters were really kind and professional. The food was decent, I was fairly disappointed. Was seriously craving some picanha but didn't feel like driving all the way to OC or LA, so I decided to give Texas de Brazil a try. Made a Friday lunch reservation and got seated right away since it wasn't too busy. Our server was super friendly and patient explaining how everything works -- especially since it was my nephew's first churrasco experience. Salad bar? So good. Fresh ingredients, great variety, and even chimichurri and sauces to go with the meats. The picanha was exactly what I was hoping for -- nice char on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. Melt-in-your-mouth good. Everything was going smooth until the lamb and beans came out super salty (my BP said "no thanks"), and the rice was a little too hard. Bummer since everything else was solid. Finished with their grilled pineapple for dessert -- caramelized perfectly with that burnt sugar edge. Almost asked for some cream to drizzle on it . $220 dollars later... Sitting at the patio on a Saturday night. Not one person asked if we wanted meat. They kept passing us, I had to stop the guys and speak Spanish to them because they would not serve us. For the first time, as a Latino, I have never felt more discriminated against than this. To-go order thru Uber Eats. I got Churassco Plate with Leg of Lamb and Garlic Picanha (medium-well). The lamb was fine tender enough and flavorful, but the garlic picanha was a huge disappointment. The two pieces I received were incredibly tough, dry, and impossible to chew. The texture was more like rubber than steak, and it was way too salty on top of that. Despite being called "garlic picanha," there was no garlic flavor at all. I'm not new to Brazilian BBQ and I know what good picanha should taste like juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Unfortunately, this was the complete opposite. The sautéed mushrooms were also so salty they were inedible. The only good parts of the meal were the garlic mashed potatoes, which were smooth and tasty, and the cheese bread, which was fresh and delicious. read more

We came here to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday and we were actually trying to go to their future competitor across the street but unfortunately they are not opened until next month. We are thankful we still tried this place out as it was actually really really good minus some of the service at the beginning. The service started out really bad where I felt like we regretted our decision at the beginning, but they quickly redeemed themselves after we told our server that we have not had any meat offered to our table for about 10-15 minutes since being seated. The gauchos went to all the other tables next to us except us for some reason, but after our server went and told the kitchen they came to us and the party began. The food was pretty amazing. All the meats were delicious and tender, and once the meat started coming, it kept coming one after another. Like any other experience I've had at a Brazilian steakhouse, I feel I do get judged for being a smaller sized woman in my party and usually get served a much smaller piece compared to the guys in my party who get automatically served huge pieces. Not a big deal as I understand food waste but trust me no food was wasted from this hungry girl! Plus they don't hesitate to serve you another piece if you ask. I did really appreciate that towards the end of our meal. They came to ask us if there were any specific requests of meat that we wanted to try again and they made sure we got it. The salad bar was pretty standard with your various cuts of charcuterie, meats, and pickled veggies along with their hot bar, which I really enjoyed their coconut stewed shrimp. I also really loved the pao de queso and the fried plantains they bring to your table and the endless chimichurri from the salad bar you serve yourself. We also decided to order two desserts. The cheesecake was pretty good, but the chocolate cake was a bit too sweet to our liking. They also decorated a plate to say happy birthday and saying with us sold the night was pretty much redeemed overall highly recommend and would definitely return. Please avoid eating here I HIGHLY recommend the Fogo de Chao in Brea. The service was good, but the food and environment were lacking. Way too overpriced for the quality of meat! A lot of pieces were mainly fatty and super unseasoned Fogo de Chao has better meat, they have beautiful natural lighting, and their presentation of the various options are extremely appealing! YES, YES, and YES! Made an online reservation to celebrate recent birthdays, and upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and shown to our table. Not only was the service great, the food was exceptional. Now, keep in mind, this like many Brazilian steakhouses offer salad bar, sides, and various meats, Texas De Brazil is on another level with the quality. Everything is fresh, hot (or cold), and tasty. We didn't try any desserts, but they have several to choose from. Please note: dinner here can be pretty pricey at $60/person, but it's well worth it. read more
