I don't understand how this place doesn't have five stars. We've been coming here for YEARS and it never disappoints. We have taken friends from out of town or different cities here and when they come back to visit, they always request Monaco's. When my father in law was in the hospital getting chemo, he said the first thing he wanted to eat when he was able to, was Monaco's. If that doesn't say something about how yummy this place is, I don't know what will. We always have excellent service, and Joey is always our favorite. I came here because it's the closest pizza parlor to my house, and everyone I've spoken to seems to rave about it. My experience was devastatingly awful!... 2 medium pizzas and a salad for NINETY FIVE (95) DOLLARS!!! Everything completely lacked flavor and was so gross, including that the meat tasted super rotten! I couldn't even eat it because I knew that it would give food poisoning. I would have spent less getting yummy all you can eat sushi for 2 people, that's the crazy part. Probably one of the worst eating out experiences I've had in quite a while. This place has really good food, I had no complaints. Everything tasted really good. You got a lot of food. The service was great. They had a great selection of wines. I've lived in the area for almost 15 years and recently stopped in for lunch with a friend of mine. We had one of their lunch specials and I really enjoyed it. I had a personal pizza and salad and a fountain drink. This location is situated in a plaza that has ample parking and good shopping close by. It's a small but tastefully decorated place, with great service, I'll definitely return. read more

I placed a pickup order and got lasagna and pizza for the kids. The lasagna, costing basically $18 pre-tax, has ZERO sauce. So while the flavor was good, the lasagna was dry as a bone. I called in an order and provided my credit card number and expiration date. Before I had the opportunity to give my authorization code, I asked to add three canned Cokes to the order. At that point, the employee informed me that the payment had already been processed and that she would need to create a separate order for the drinks. I was surprised, as I had not yet provided my authorization code, and asked how the payment could have been processed without it. I then inquired whether the Cokes could be offered as a courtesy given the inconvenience. She consulted with someone I believe was a manager or assistant manager, although he did not identify himself. When I attempted to explain my concern, he repeatedly interrupted me and spoke over me, stating, "I can't just give Cokes away for free." I clarified that I was willing to pay for the drinks; however, due to the dismissive and disrespectful manner in which I was treated--particularly being interrupted multiple times--I requested that the order be canceled... He then hung up on me. As a frequent customer, I was genuinely surprised and disappointed by the overall lack of customer service. This includes the premature processing of my payment without authorization and the lack of any effort from management to resolve the situation professionally. read more

I was a little nervous coming here because of the reviews but our friends recommended it. There were 12 in our group and between us all there was lasagna, chicken parm, eggplant parm, antipasto salad, cavatelli, and pizza. I got the chicken parm. The salad it comes with was huge and had olives, cheese, tomatoes, and a peperoncino. The chicken parm itself was delicious. Hot, good breading, and cooked well. I also got it with linguine and meat sauce, which was a lil eh. But after throwing some salt and Parmesan cheese on it, it was better. My husband got the eggplant parm which was amazing. It's a huge portion and is cooked to perfection. A lil crispy on the bottom so it wasn't soggy. Service was good but slow. Maybe just because our group was big. But when we did ask for things or she came to check on us it eventually got taken care of just a lil long. Great food, great price and even better service. I placed a to go order with their Thursday night special and picked it up then hurried back to my family. Upon arriving home I realized the wings didn't have sauce on them. I called to make Monacos aware of the mistake, not only did they offer to replace the wings but they delivered them to my doorstep so I didn't have to leave the comfort of my home. The service of this place has really gone down hill. Now I know why it only has 3 stars. Waited almost an hour to be seated with staff attending to other guests not noticing who was there first. Several couples left the line because of this. When we finally got seated, the waiter took about 15 mins before they even got our drinks, 15 minutes later with our drinks and got to place our orders. 10 mins after taking our orders, they came out and told us they didn't have any clams for my linguine vongole order. By this time I was almost two hours into this place. Mind this was around 2pm in the afternoon. The restaurant seems to be short staffed and servers with an attitude. Our Family used to go there until recently. The pizza has become more thin and burnt on several occasions. Even after taking it back after a pickup order, they said it was a perfectly made pizza, even though the crust was hard and burnt. I told the manager that my wife ate it and spit it out. My gosh I had one of the worst dining experiences of my life here at Monaco's. Not only was our server terrible at service, my food was disgusting and my pasta was literally falling apart and all mushy. It was the consistency of mashed potatoes but was supposed to be penne pasta. The cherry on top of the awful experience was that our bill finally came and we were over charged for 2 out of 4 of the items. Our lunch special was supposed to be $10.99 but we were charged $15.99. Also when I had to go track down the server and asked her to come to our table to go over the incorrect bill she avoided our table and finally after waiting we just pad the incorrect bill and left. This was the first time coming here with my lady ! Things started out good until they weren't ! It was very clean space looked nice , so we ordered the bruschetta and zucchini fries ...maybe 10min passed and the waitress came back saying they ran out of the bread for the bruschetta so okay no big deal , we received the soup and salad , soup tasted like Campbells and they just tweaked it a bit and added little meat balls ... the salad was fresh and lettuce was nice and crispy but they just LOADED the salad with cheese I mean a handful forsure ...then we waited like 40min to receive our entrees I got the lasagne and it truly was nothing special the sauce tasted store bought and man they added like a BLANKET on cheese right on top I legit pulled all the cheese off just to eat the lasagne .... The food is excellent, the servers are very kind but the place is always understaffed. Always. We've been coming since 2006 and it's always the same. Their management is just poor. We came today for my son's birthday and we waiting for about 15-20 minutes to be seated and another 20 or so minutes seated before we just walked out. No one came to take our order or offer us drinks. Or at least give us some allusion to being helped soon. It's too bad because we do love this place but if you come expect a wait even if it's a weekday and it isn't very busy. The food is good but it's not worth the long wait. read more
