We couldn't finish the food as they all tasted awful.

such a disappointment, how can you named yourself steam cafe if you can't make soup dumplings right? I wonder if they made gluten-free soup dumplings, no way you can pick them up without breaking the wrapper, and there's no flavor at all, we left hungry.

This establishment cater to fast and common dishes. The volume is reasonable, taste is good, and service is excellent. Need a seat down quick meal, you will not be disappointed. Located behind Carrollton 99 super market.

Food is great l. The dumpling are hand made and the filling is huge. Their steam meal come with 9'e dish plus soup veggies and side dishes it's enough for two people. We also order the milk fish soup it taste amazing. The service is great! They were very at tentative. The place is a little hard to find cause the entrance is small but when you get inside there is a ton of seatings

The waiting time for food was unbelievable long. The waitress explained the bun is fresher made and cooked, and that's why it's taking so long. Well I used to go to Din Tai Fung all the time when I was living in LA. The waiting time was never long. Anyways, the kaofu was not cooked properly, and was still partially cold. The waitress took it off the bill. The vinegar for bun had a sweet soda taste in it. I don't know how the hell that could happen. The total bill is $50.83, not cheap but for this type quality of food is just not worth at all.

As we were waiting, we noticed that 4-5 tables were done eating and paid their bills. All got up and left, the staff quickly cleaned the tables. The cleaned tables were empty for another 15 minutes. The lady that took our names down took a while to call the next customers. Seems like we were waiting just to wait...she sat one party down and waited another 10 minute to sit the next group... anyways, after we waited for a good 40 minutes, we were finally called to be seated. Sat down and was immediately served with water and took our order down. Time for the food review: Chicken popcorn - nice crisp and texture, but lacking flavor. Felt like it needed a dipping sauce. Pork lard rice - disappointing, bland Pork intestine with green mustard - this dish was okay.. Crispy garlic salted fish - fish was nicely fried and flavor was good. Probably the best dish so far Crispy pork chop - this is the reason why we came here.. we wanted to find a dish like May Ice cream. Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment. The pork chop was extremely salted. From the skin to the pork itself. Walnut shrimp - this dish was foul. Who puts sprinkles on the side?! Tasted like I was eating an ice cream shop. The shrimp was also dry. Overall, not worth going and waiting. Food was lacking.

But the reviews were suspiciously glowing, so curiosity (and hunger) won. We pulled up and I took one look at the building: older, unremarkable, zero curb appeal. Classic "meh." Inside, several large round tables with lazy Susans, red tablecloths, and Chinese lanterns. They first sat us in a booth but I requested later on to be moved to a large round table since we ordered A LOT. But back to when we first sat in the booth - As a Chinese woman, the second I spotted the older seats with ripped upholstery, it hit me like a culinary prophecy: this place was going to serve me some incredible, authentic Chinese food. I don't know what it is, but there's an inverse law of Chinese restaurants: the less fancy the exterior (and the more the booth looks like it's survived several natural disasters), the better the food. Apparently they skip Instagram-worthy renovations and put the budget where it belongs--on the plate! This is now hands down in my top 3 favorite Chinese restaurant in North Dallas - I can even say it's on the very top. I haven't forgotten about the staff. They deserve 10 stars. Super nice!

We ate egg rolls, crab Rangoon, and soup, followed up by orange beef and beef fried rice. The crab Rangoon could have used more stuffings, but what was there was good. I thoroughly enjoyed the orange beef. The tenderness of the beef and the taste of the sauce was on point. Definitely don't pass on this one if you are craving Chinese food. Note: they do serve peanuts before the meal, so watch for that with allergies!

The service is quick and friendly. You simply fill out the boxes next to what items you want and they come and bring the food. Ambiance is fun! Very authentic. My favorite was the lamb as I love the seasoning and flavor of lamb skewers, no matter what restaurant cooks them. It's a self service restaurant, but enough tables to also sit down and eat. The staff was really kind and helped me throughout the entire night, guiding me through the process. It's similar to other malatang places, where you pick your own ingredients. The only thing is any meats you'd want is already in a smaller bag on the side, with a fixed weight. I'm assuming it's for sanitary reasons. The per pound price is a bit higher, but it's justified- the flavor of the stir fry was really flavorful, all the ingredients are very fresh. They also give you a loyalty card where you can get free items if you order X amount of times.
