The first time I ordered wings, it was so juicy and delicious. I use to be a fan of this place, BUT then they took away the Wing Wednesday deal, however I still gave them the benefit of doubt and ordered recently, but I was just so disappointed, the wings were burnt, and I don't mean "crispy". I'll give it another shot in the future, but just want to let the people know.

My father for 40 years also here in Newark Owned multiple hot dog food trucks and myself worked them for years so If I'm eating "DIRTY WATER DOGS" I'm going to try the two long standing that I remember as I haven't had a hot dog off a truck in countless years. Parked on Corner of Branch Brook Park Lake Street & Park Ave in the Old 1st (NORTH) word of Newark sits Tony's. Today we keep it simple with Hot dogs, Hot onions others with Sauerkraut. Mind you almost all trucks here use same hot dog distributor so in theory the only thing different should be the onions. Today dogs were Hot, rolls fresh, onions good but now WOW sauerkraut hot and fresh not burnt as well. Lots of other toppings available but I am a traditionalist. Everything was good but didn't get the wow factor from the onions I remember. Still very solid after all these years even under new ownership.

It's a decent portion for nearly $25, but I think it makes more sense to order a medium pan to get more bang for your buck. The food itself... it's the fried rice AND green sauce for me!!! I'm really stumped trying to figure out how to explain the flavors. It's so incredible they make it hard for other Peruvian restaurants to compete. The mild to moderate spice of the green sauce and the fried rice and chicken blend together like a perfect marriage of flavors. The shrimp are also grilled in a way that you can absolutely tell it's intentional to taste a little bit of char. My only pushback is the tails still being on. Nevertheless, I'd come here again and again. The service is quick and efficient. It's usually not too long of a wait, even if it's busy. It's small inside but there are tables/chairs to dine-in. I prefer to pick up! Pro-tip, they do charge extra if you pay with a card smh

This place was pretty good, not the best one I've ever tried, but it definitely satisfied my cravings! The portion is generous, and it comes with papa and choclo, just like back home. The person who answered the phone and handed me the food was very nice and efficient. They have plenty of seating inside, and the place seemed very clean. Parking is difficult since it is on a regular street in Newark so you have to manage with street parking. Overall, if I'm ever craving Peruvian food as I leave my office, this is the place I'll be going to, as I'm excited to try the rest of their dishes!

The Mari trio was a delicious take on 3 Peruvian seafood classics (Jalea, Paella, and ceviche). I always have a hard time choosing if I want Jalea or Paella at restaurants and was so happy to not have to choose here. It is a good portion for $28 and enough for 2 people. Make sure to get this! So I'm struggling to give this place a 3 star review because despite the delicious seafood plate, our other plates were not great. We had lomo salteado, salteado mixto (chicken and beef), chaufa and chicharrones. All of these plates were HEAVY on the soy sauce and all the meats were super over cooked and dry. The chicharron was probably the worst flavor for me, I think maybe they use some type of brine that was not good and it wasn't fried crispy at all. The chaufa was decent but it came out at the VERY end and our party had basically finished most of meals. I don't know if it was a differnt chef that day or what, but not the type of Peruvian flair we are used to. So this seems to be a new place and it was clearly not prepared for 6 people to come at once. I am being empathetic, but our food took a SUPER long time (and there was only 1 other person in the restaurant when we arrived). Second, our server looked annoyed with us most of the time, maybe because I asked a few questions about the menu. Our food then came all out of order, which would be fine if they would've at least had the courtesy of telling us. At the end of our meal I think our server came around and started being a bit nicer, but I don't think I'll be coming back for a bit to dine in. I would absolutely get the Mari Trio to go though!
