French fries (cold)
Friday B.

I'm so sad to write this review because this Steak N' Shake used to be one of my favorite places to eat. Family trips to Branson or Silver Dollar City weren't complete without a stop at this location. There used to be a whole host of friendly people working here and the food was absolutely amazing, the best SNS location I'd ever been to! All this has changed in recent years. I've been here twice in the last 6 months and been severely disappointed both times. For starters, the food is just disgusting now. They've seemingly changed from Redi-Whip/whipped cream to some kind of Cool Whip. I was super disappointed in the shake. Bad topping and no flavor in it whatsoever. Also, the burgers! The fries! Yuck! The burgers are underdone and so bland that it turns back around to nasty. The fries were already cold when we got them and also in teeny tiny bits, inedible without a fork. Not to mention the fact that they completely forgot one out of our three meals that we ordered and then acted like we were lying about having ordered it in the first place? Overall, just a really baffling, sad, horrible experience. I really wish I had a better review for this place because I used to love it so much, but we won't be coming back.

Not sure why this place has a low rating. We found it to be excellent. Food was delicious and come out quickly, server was awesome and the shakes were really nice. Would definitely go back again.

This was 3 star experience, food and service was good. Place was very busy and they seem to be in need of more staff to cover the volume of people. The food portion size seemed to be small comparatively to other sit down restaurants. Flavor was still good all around. Love that they allow kids to eat free on the weekends here with other purchases. Shakes are always good, I mean it is in the name.

Granted it's fast food burgers and fries, but it's a good burger and fries plus they make some of the best milkshakes you'll find. The only issue I have is the drive thru can be a little slow since food is cooked to order. They have shoestring fries, which are one of my favorites.

We settled on a fried pork tenderloin and a single burger. The food was excellent, freshly prepared, and piping hot upon arrival. The staff was very helpful and attentive. You order at the counter and take your number to the table and the kitchen delivers it in a very reasonable time. The drinks are self-serve but members of the staff asked if I'd like a refill and did the running for me. They even brought me a "to-go" cup when we finished our meal. It was very comfortable and quiet during our visit but with a full dining room it has the potential to be a bit noisier. With a live band, it could be more than a bit louder. Tips: Head to the back and browse the vendor booths on the way. Expect to make some compromise decisions. You can't eat everything at one visit. On the way out buy something and support a local vendor. The building's purpose to give local vendors a place to sell. No vendors will cause the grill's rent to skyrocket.

Inside, we were handed a pager and told we may have a 20-minute wait. A very kind and pleasant young Black man readily offered up his seat to older patrons, spoke kindly, and did so at least twice. The wait was short. A kind, smiling young waitress took our initial order, and soon hot food began to arrive, even though the place was packed. A nice touch was the live solo country musician performing. I ordered fried green tomatoes, and my wife had the catfish basket. As I looked around, the helpings were large. No way I could eat all that! I noticed on Yelp that one could order the fish half size. Water and lemonade round out the entree. The fried green tomatoes were battered, flaky, and cooked well. But after eating a few, it was too oily. The catfish was done well but was too salty, as were the hush puppies. I've never drunk toilet water, but if I had, it surely would taste like the water I drank. No thanks. The water tasted bad even with the lemon. The restaurant didn't make the water. However, it desperately needs a filter--cudos to the kitchen and servers for plating and serving the food nice and hot. Now the bill. I noticed a 3.5% surcharge if you used a card. I was also shocked to find an additional charge of 1.99 because, according to the receipt, I was over 12 years old ordering a kids' meal. Wait, what! Less food, but an upcharge? Then another upcharge for substituting onion rings for fries. Now my final takeaway. I always ask myself, would I return for more? No, I would not. I try to judge the food first because there are "hole-in-the-wall" places that serve great food. Was the food seasoned? The food was, but when the salt is the main thing that stands out, it's just too salty. If so, what are you trying to hide? Last, they didn't even question whether we wanted dessert from the menu: just a smile and a goodbye from the waitress. I left a nice tip for the service and went on my way.

We were a group of 15, including several kids, and even the little ones got to join in the fun with flaming non-alcoholic margaritas. Their excitement was just as contagious! I ordered the grilled salmon and got to sample several other dishes as well. I loved almost everything I tried! The food, the fun presentation, and the overall experience made it a memorable evening for our group. It's a bit on the pricey side, but if you're visiting the area and looking for something fun and different, it's definitely worth experiencing at least once!

Flaming Margaritas at the Landing (3015 W 76 Country Blvd, Branson, MO 65616)…read more There's plenty of parking near the Landing if you don't feel like walking. No reservations here, so it's first come, first served. Our waitress, Madison, was awesome from start to finish with drinks, menu help, and just great, relatable conversation! My guy started with a dragonfruit, peach, and mango margarita that she recommended, while I got a blackberry one. I didn't realize all the margaritas came out flaming, so it was cool that even my single-flavor one, with edible flowers, was on fire! The booze-to-ice ratio was perfect. We went on the hottest weekend ever, so a nice, cold, huge cocktail was super refreshing! For food, I got the BLACKENED GRILLED SALMON (Atlantic salmon filet, blackened and served with jalapeño creamy corn and asparagus). This was probably the best blackened salmon I've had all year. The lighter-colored asparagus threw me off a bit, but it was really good, and that jalapeño creamy corn? I'm totally making that at home because it was so good! My guy had the prime ribeye with caramelized onions and bacon jam. The steak was the star of his order. So good! The manager also stopped by our table to see how we were doing and was so kind to offer us a dessert coupon for their location on 76. I hope we can go back when it's not summer so we can sit outside on their beautiful patio!
