This place isn't half bad if you get a decent server. The food is basic but basic is ok. You will wait a while for drive thru but my takeout food was good and the girl was friendly. on anther note they are open real late. I love the milkshakes as well! read more

Dont waste your time coming to this one. The staff here sucks the is one server thats knows what she is doing but thats it. They need to train their servers. Food is not that bad when it comes out in a timely fashion. They expect there host or hostess to clean off tables and to sit people and to ring out during rush hour. We went to this location as my wife had a baby appointment and my 5-year old Connor had to get shots for Kindergarten next year. Because he did so good with the shot experience, we went to lunch. My other review pretty much sums up this one. Service was good and the food decent. Again, the $3.99 menu options are our seller. I had a double bacon cheeseburger. It was good but dripping with grease. I guess its to be expected when you get a double but I ate it all anyway. It was topped with cheese, bacon, lettuce onions, ketchup, mustard and mayo. I finished it off with a mocha shake which was very good but it could have been blended a little better. Everyone was happy with their food. I must note that the mac and cheese my kids had was pretty much out of the box Kraft mac and cheese but their easy to please. We will continue to hit this place up for a fast and cheap lunch experience. read more

We will be taking this restaurant off our list of places to eat. Wait time for food was ridiculous. Food was good when we finally got it. Restaurant was dirty. Floors were sticky and the place was messy. The worst part for me was watching a waitress push the garbage in trash down with her hand didn't wash hands, then served food. Same waitress later changed the garbage bag and didn't wash her hands before serving food, yuck!!! read more

Very close to where I work. I have only ever gone into the store once and it took forever!! The drive thru is always quick and the service is great. The steak burgers are wonderful, but I wish they would change their fries. To small!! read more

Pass this one by folks. They served us two burgers with absolutely no condiments on them.

The food is decent, but they really need to address how slow they are here, especially at the drive thru. There have been times where I've waited over 25 minutes, which is unacceptable. If you're trying to swing by on a lunch break, and there is a car or two ahead of you, you'll almost certainly be late getting back to work. It's not uncommon for people to get fed up and just put their cars in park and shut off the engine because they've been waiting so long. Of course it doesn't help when you get that super picky customer ahead of you who has to special order the heck out of everything on the menu, in which case they should make them pull over to wait for their order instead of tying up the rest of the line for so long. read more

Unbelievably horrible customer service, especially from the management. An employee of mine went to get breakfast one morning through the drive thru, but wasn't able to complete the transaction due to a credit card issue they had. She came back and told me about the situation and how rude the manager was, but told me they're still making the food (they're slow there), however I would have to go pick it up ( they're right around the corner). I went to pick up the food inside and asked about the situation to the girl at the register only to get the manager to interrupt. She started saying all this stuff that I never heard of before til then and proceeded to berate her staff and saying how she's going to fire the entire night shift as she just walks away from me. Really? What manager does that? I came back to work and called customer service. I was told someone would call me, no-one did. Several days later I called back only for the same thing to happen, except it was supposed to be a higher up manager that was to call....never did. Several days later I called back again. The person told me someone tried reaching me but no-one answered....lie! I even gave them two different numbers to call. Even if they had, which they hadn't, they couldn't leave a message? Couldn't leave contact information? Couldn't try back again? This time the rep said they're going to escalate the situation to corporate to handle. That was on 9/20/16, today is 10/11/16. You think anyone called? Yeah right. This incident took place on 8/31/16 and to this day they don't even have the decency to extend a phone call, even from corporate, to an upset customer. This is not the first time something like this has happened with that place either, but it is the last. I could tell you stories, believe me. I own a business right around the corner and I would buy my employees and myself food there a few times a week, but haven't ate there since and won't after this experience. They obviously don't give a rat's ass about the customer. read more

Me and my family was traveling and stopped at Steak n Shake because it's one of my favorite restaurant when on the road. The lady at the cashier was completely rude as we were waiting for the rest of our party and continued to threaten to give our table away! Thankfully the asst manager stepped in and gave us a our table. Everyone else that served us were nice. read more

I rarely come to this steak and shake #1 for slow service and it takes forever for food even when its not busy and #2 no one is ever happy or smiling. I finally decided with my friends a milkshake for dessert sounded sooo good after a night of late night Christmas shopping and dinner. We go to go through the drive thru and an employees car is blocking it, at first we thought it was a joke, then we go to the window and it had a note on it. All we wanted was milkshakes so we were kind of upset but realized its holiday season so we could wait and go inside with no problem. We walk in and the host walks past us 3 times and never comes back for about 10 minutes to seat the people in front of us .. Also we never got aknowledged one time by ANY of the employees. We even sat down at the bar area next to the register and waited about 8 more minutes. A cook comes over and says "orders" directed towards us but as soon as we started saying we have a to go order he's goes "NO NO hold on" in a definite snappy voice putting his hand up because he thought we were the other to go order waiting on their food. So we waited.. Once again... For 5 more minutes with what seemed like the manager walking past us STILL without saying anything multiple times. Needless to say, I have a lot of patience all we wanted was a holiday milkshake but after 20 min of waiting for one... We were done and had our fill. read more

I have never seen such terrible service. The "servers" are a joke most of them standing around doing little to nothing while families wait for service. While waiting for a table tonight I went to the man at the counter whom seem to be some type of "manager" (not the word I would like to use) I explained to him that there were 4 empty tables and there were groups of us waiting. He had the nerve to tell me " well I'm busy right now so you will continue to wait " wanting to scream at him I bit my tongue and watched the teenie bopper " servers" do nothing. I've been here before and enjoyed it, so I was shocked at how bad tonight's visit was. My family arrived at 7pm. We expected that it would be busy since a Halloween event just ended in the plaza across the street. The parking lot was not packed and we had been there before when it was much busier so we decided to go for it. We walk in. One family of 6 was ahead of us, sitting in the waiting area. They had already been greeted and were waiting on a table. We were the only ones standing in line to be checked in. We stood there for 10 minutes before anyone bothered to acknowledge us. I should've know then and there that it was going to be a bad experience and just walked out. But we didn't. We only had to wait a few minutes for a table. We order pretty quickly. Our server was nice but completely clueless. We waited AN HOUR for our food to arrive. As I said we've been there when it was much busier and have never waited so long. I told my husband that if the food was not at the table in the next 5 mins we were walking out. About a minute later our food shows up. Brought by someone who was not our server (I'm guessing it was a manager who overheard me). I look and our order is completely wrong (even though the receipt had everything correct). So we have to wait until it is corrected. The food was good, as it always is, but not worth being there over 2 hours for a meal that should've taken less than 30 mins. I go to the register to pay and the cashier was ON HIS CELL PHONE. I'm very disappointed in this place. Reading over other people's reviews, it seems like we're not the only people unhappy with them. With so many places to eat in this area, I don't see Steak n Shake lasting much longer here without major changes. I know we'll be going elsewhere from now on. read more

Okay so I really like steak and shake for one thing, their taco salad! It is wonderful. However, the last time We went was dec 3, 2015 and we got bad service. When we arrived they were busy and it took about ten minutes for our server to come to the table. I'm a server myself so I am very understandable so I was not bothered. We ordered our food and told the waitress we would want shakes for desert . We got the food and my taco salad had less meat on it then I have ever gotten before. So i ordered extra and it was delicious. After we got our food she put our check down and we did not see her for 20 min just sitting and waiting. It was like our service was done as soon as we got our check even though we informed her we wanted shakes. So I had to get her attention to inform her again we had wanted them. After we ordered them we did not see our waitress again for 20 min.. People coming after us leaving before us.. Had to get the manager attention about our shakes since our waitress never returned.. Took the manager five min to get them and bring them to us. Still no sight of the waitress.. No apology no thank you have a good day.. So we went to pay our bill and told them what had happened and the cashier gave the snottiest attitude and told us we didn't have to pay our bill. Which in fact I did not mind paying cause they are so cheap. It was the fact I brought up the problem and was given more attitude by her slamming her drawer and saying if it wasn't good I'm not gonna have you pay. I was in such shock I wasn't even grateful for the free food. I was disappointed by such service from a great family oriented place. So me and my one year old son will most likely not return because I would rather go some where were I am treated better even if it means spending more money. read more
