The ambiance has not changed since my 20 years of going to this location. It looks exactly like how I remembered it except they have screens instead of servers. I recall the food here being decent for the price. I don't even recall how the food got to our table but it wasn't that quick. The steak burger was decent but not really memorable besides it being smaller than I recall. Maybe my hands got bigger. I doubt it. It was salty enough for me to enjoy it but not distinctive enough compared to any other fast food burger. The fries were lukewarm and crispy. My wife is crispy-thin-fries gal and I'm more of a chunky I want-my-fries-to-actually-taste-like-potatoes kind of guy. The milkshake was too sweet. Maybe my palate has changed for the past decade or so but I've always thought as American milkshakes as too sweet. I recenly read that we eat 5x more sugar than the average Japanese. Would I come here again? Probably. The prices were reasonable. They give out a free shake for your birthday. That's the only reason I come here once a year. read more

Steak 'n Shake was one of the best fast food I've ever eaten. The shakes are delicious and made with real ice cream, not that slimy crap you would find at other restaurants. The food is made of higher quality, better than McDonald's. And the fries, they're healthier than the competition. Steak 'n Shake rules at quality. I am partial to steak and shake... great burgers, the most awesome fries when they are cooked fresh, and the shakes can be outstanding! This particular one can be great or it can be good... but it is always tasty. The service at the drive through is mostly good but we have had a few mishaps as well. The inside could use a bit more cleaning.. but again most of the time is it brett good. In the world of fast food Steak and Shake gets my vote for a top 3 burger for sure! read more

This place is the latest to fully abandon human interaction at the counter; in exchange, there are digital kiosks that we found to have very easy UI/UX. I went to try the new beef tallow fries. They were fresh fried and very good. The drive-thru was quick. I got my burger and fries in a couple minutes. The health score was posted on the window and it showed "100." As good as the fries were, the burger is the best part. People complaining on here probably don't realize that they make every burger fresh, so it takes longer than going to McD's or Burger King. read more

We try to stay away from fast food burgers but when it's really inevitable (lol) we drive to Steak's Shake (Alpharetta) and we are all always satisfied. Everything is just fine, the shakes, the burgers, the fries, and even the price. That's not easy! At other fast food places you always end up liking one thing but not the other. Isn't it? We normally get the Double Steakburger with cheese meal and we share the huge vanilla shake. Food was good and hot. I had an issue with having to have a barcode to scan to get soda. Took 4 times to read the barcode to engage the fountain. Profit on soda is like 90 to 95 percent why be so cheap here with drinks. You would not have this problem if you had staff in the seating area like when you had table service. I went to the drive through and placed my order. The employee who took my order was very courteous and professional. Once I got to the window to pay he told me he couldn't take nothing larger than a 50. We I said "That's all I had " He kept repeating himself. Rather than letting me pay with the 100 dollar bill I had for a $30 dollar order, They decided to turn me away and waste the food that was already prepared. During COVID-19, most Steak-n-Shake locations are having a free fries promotion. Upon request, you will receive one free fries for every person in your car in the drive-thru. Make sure you get Frisco sauce to dip your fries in, it's the best! This is a great Steak n Shake location, which is very prompt. Our order was ready right when we got to the window. If I could give zero stars I would. Took like 10 minutes to get to cheeseburgers and two orders of fries. I had a cold slab of cheese straight out of the refrigerator on my cheeseburger. Who doesn't melt cheese on a cheeseburger? The bread was dry and stale and the fries had a weird flavor to them. When I asked the girl for ketchup, she looked at me with a deer in the headlights look and closed the window; not nodding, not saying yes, no, go to hell...nothing. Funny, I tried it years ago and my daughter really wanted a cheeseburger so we tried it again and I know why I haven't been back in three years. I don't even know how this location is still open. Hopefully it closes soon and they get some thing in there that's good with people who care about the food they are serving. Sooo...hmmm. Let me start with the pros. Kids eat "free" on the weekends which means with every adult who has a meal that higher than 9 dollars which is actually misleading and pretty difficult to accomplish here. And kids eat free is only the food with ends up being 2.99 at most and not the drink which is another 2.99 if you want a shake. But seeing how my family of four at for $18 on a Sunday I really am not complaining that much about the cost of the meal! So as far as the food I'm a huge Steak 'n Shake fan! I had the garlic burger and it didn't disappoint especially after adding the grilled onions yum! I love the fries but many people complain about the size of the fries and that they are not all that big or filling. Think of a smaller Mc Donald's fries. I didn't have one today but the shakes are so good too I've been a fan for years of the burgers and shakes and they are so cheap and so many choices of burger and shakes like at least 20 kinds of each to choose from. So for someone who likes variety it's great!! Our waitress today was great too very attentive and brought plenty of activities for the kids to do which was a life saver for us so thank you! Didn't catch her name though but she was very sweet! Ok now the cons apply to this particular location: It's not the cleanest location so they definitely need to work on that aspect. You don't want to eat anywhere that is dirty and it really needed a full cleaning and mop down on a Sunday afternoon. Especially with being open 24 hours cleanliness is a must! One star lost for that. 2nd star lost is a weird reason. As my family was leaving there was literally a prostitute and a pimp (or her customer) smoking outside of the building. The lady literally had on a see through leotard and nothing else but a shawl! It was like 3 in the afternoon like WTF?!!! I was going to get a shake at Chick-fil-A by the North Point Mall, but the drive-thru line was too long. I drove around the corner and found the Steak 'n Shake tucked behind. The positive is that they have a Happy Hour. From 2 to 5 PM, their beverages are 50% off. So, it only cost me around $1.60 for a milkshake. The negative is the thickness of the shake. The milkshake was cold and refreshing, but it was so thick that I could barely get it through the straw. You'd probably have to let the milkshake melt a little before you can drink it through a straw. read more

He racially profiled me and told he would not replace my order after they put onion on my burger. I explained to him that I was allergic and he demanded for me to leave. If I could give negative stars, I would. If you were to order 2 small milkshakes, while there are no other cars in front of you at the drive thru how long would you expect to wait? 2 maybe 3 minutes? Try 40. The girl at the window apologized for them being "short-staffed". So why did I see at least 4 other workers standing around twiddling their thumbs and talking to each other? At one point while we were waiting, a guy inside made eye contact with me through the window and started laughing. Not to mention we were initially charged for someone else's meal which was about triple the cost of our two milkshakes, and we had to correct the worker to give us a refund and recharge us. I am not a fan of these types of food joints, but I was craving a milk shake and so I thought I'd wander to Steak 'n Shake since they have their 1/2 Price Happy Hour on shakes and drinks. The drive-thru service was fairly quick and okay. What I didn't like was the mediocre food preparation process. I clearly saw the associate wipe my milk shake, and my thought was, "Oh boy, this is going to be sticky." Well... Although she did wipe the darn thing down, the lid was still loose and my shake was drippy when she handed it to me. ??? Do you seriously think some napkins wrapped around my shake will hide the fact that you are a sloppy associate? Other than this fiasco, there was nothing wrong with my salted caramel shake and fries. I visited Steak N Shake 2355 North Point Ct, Alpharetta, GA 30022 today and was not happy with my visit. I rarely eat fast food, very rarely. But, like I said only thing open and my husband was craving burgers. Walking in smelled like grease. The location looked filthy and this was just eye balling it. Headed in to the restrooms and not happy with what I saw. Nothing related to the uneducated customer can be but the actual bathroom in itself is not kept clean. Back outside the booths, the table, walls, menus, and even the disposable paper placemats were just disgusting. I had to use a napkin to grab the menu. Server was extremely nice, they were understaffed so he was outstanding at keeping everything under control. As for me, it was very hard to make a choice because again I am not fond of fast food restaurants. I decided to go with the Chili Mac. When it arrived I immediately lost my appetite and I was starving. There was basically no chili, it was a plate over flowing with spaghetti and 3 tablespoons of I guess "chili" thrown on top. The one star is honestly just for the food because the entire store is far from any standards, and because of that it ruined the whole experience for me. I have never been inside a steak n' shake before and I had only gone through once in their drive thru and the food was really good. I didn't know that there were servers here, but it took awhile to get our orders in. Our server was really nice but it was really gross on the tables, the chairs, the floors, the walls, the menus, the silverware, the condiments. I don't really know how long that establishment has been there but it looked like it hadn't been clean since it opened. Their were hand prints on the glass. Everything looked stained. The menus had smeered chocolate on them. There were ants on the table. Just really awful. It's a real shame because the food tastes good but if the inside looks like that I would hate to see how the kitchen looks. And it kind of bothers me that there are servers because I do make sure I tip but when the store is somewhat empTy and the employees are on their phones and everything is disgusting it mad me somewhat angry at the whole experience.
