Was in the area and recalled seeing a Tulsa World review about Steak & Bake, so decided to give it a try. We ordered the 12 inch Philly Steak sandwich and fries. I was thinking we'd receive a foot long sandwich that we would cut in half. Instead it was made in two 6 inch buns, which worked out well.. After a short wait, the sandwich and fries were served piping hot. Actually too hot to immediately bite into. There was plenty of meat in the sandwich, but it lacked some flavor. We were both adding salt & pepper and felt it still needed something more........perhaps more cheese and larger chunks of pepper/onion. The diced pepper & onions kind of disappeared and didnt offer much. While it was okay and the service was friendly, I wont be rushing back, but if in the area would consider stopping in again.

Great place and atmosphere and even better food The chicken sandwich was great and I asked for the Buffalo chicken and he told me it was grilled but he asked if I wanted it fried so nice people and the fries are great but just the best family owned restaurant.

Nice mom 'n pop operation. Menu is simple but cheesesteak, hamburger, and fries were satisfying. Prices were reasonable. Avoid ordering the chicken fingers. They were obviously frozen and lacked seasoning and flavor.

We love this place! We eat here on Friday nights as a tradition. Great Mediterranean food and really nice owners. They always take care of us.The Mediterranean feast, cabbage roll platter, gyros, and kids meals are all great. We have pretty high standards. The one thing I would say is that we stick to the Friday special. The american food on the menu is not anything special but we have no complaints.

Wonderful owners, the philly is big and juicy and the gyros are authentic. Cool little feel in the spot too.

Howdy Burger

Howdy Burger

(72 reviews)

Oklahoma seems to have a certain pride when it comes to burger joints that keep it simple. Tulsa…read morehas many chains, local restaurants and pop-ups that are familiar and filling. Encroaching on a seemingly crowded market can be tough but somehow Howdy feels like an already-established diner. While many newer burger places attempt to overwhelm the consumer, Howdy Burger's approach seems to be keeping things simple and delivering what the people want while staying true to the "burger joint" identity. I've had Howdy Burger 2 or 3 times through the years. My first visit was likely in/at Mother Road Market but a more recent visit was on October 29th (2025). In the midst of an economic stall (the federal government was shut down for 4 weeks at that point), eating out seemed like a luxury. I visited around 2pm for lunch. The weather was chilly and the staff was readily available. I was greeted and I browsed the menu for about 2mins before ordering. I ended up getting a single burger & rodeo fries. Afterwards, me & the lady cashier had a brief conversation about the state of the world as business was slower than usual. The restaurant isn't huge but it was well maintained. I sat near the West windows and the food came out shortly after. The highlight of the food was easily the burger itself. It was a decent size, the bread was soft, and the patty was just thick enough. Each bite was equally satisfying as they didn't hold back on the toppings. I will say that the fries are pretty standard, even with the extra toppings. I don't think the Rodeo Fries are worth wild but it didn't hurt to try. Lastly, I LOVE the variety of sauces they offer and the staff are happy to add them directly onto the sandwich or place them on the side. I've since returned to have the Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was just as good, if not better, than most famed chicken sandwich spots. I wasn't familiar with Howdy for a while and, as mentioned, there are many other places to get a cheeseburger, sandwich and/or fries. But what I like about Howdy is that they don't try too hard, they know what sells and they offer great service. Considering the price, consistency in their products and good people behind the counter, Howdy Burger is good enough to replace your favorite burger chain and/or fast food spot.

Smashed thin and came out crunchy on the edges. Enough toppings to keep you wanting more. Drive through attendant was very pleasant and quickly got us our food. Thumbs up!

District Burger - Oklahoma onion burger: locally sourced beef and buns

I think it is named after a local ranch so sorry if I butchered it. I asked what was on it... all I heard was grilled onions, jalapeños, and some sauce and I was all in!! The burger came on toast and is very similar to a patty melt if you like that style. Honestly it was a great burger. The wife and I shared some cheese and onion fries... I can't say enough about how delicious it was. My wife ended up getting the class burger which comes with cheese sauce to dip fries or your burger in....i wanted the cheese sauce on everything but I did my best to hold back. Service is always great accompanied with some local brews... honestly this is a great place to eat local beef and local brews!

It takes a LOT of reading before you can figure out what you want. I understand wanting to highlight farms that the beef is sourced from, but it shouldn't be the most prominent thing in the menu. It's super confusing. Last, the truffle fries need reworked badly. I got fries with some truffle-esque condiment squeezed randomly on top. Fries needed to be tossed in the sauce while hot, so it was a soggy mess. 1/5, wouldn't recommend those.
