Bayou Fries
Precious G.

Louisiana transplant here. Me and my fiancé just had to try this New Orleans inspired place. First I expected a wait but man we waited over 30 minutes. It's all good because cars were piling up so I said the hype must be good. First let me start off with the tacos ala rouge. I thought they would have a cajun twist for birria tacos to be here. They were greasy so much oil but well seasoned. I would not get these again- just go to a real Mexican spot (I won't name drop but there are some good birria in Tulsa...just not here) The bayou fries!! Whoaaa I mean the presentation was amazing. I was blown away by how delicious it looked. Now as far as taste... and I have to be completely honest here. The taste didn't live up to the presentation. I tasted soaked fries in what their version of gumbo was. The garnishment on top was what saves this review from a lower star. I would go back one day to try the poboys and see how it lives up to "tha boot", my version on New Orleans food from what I was raised in.

Food truck.

Service was outstanding again. Muffaletta was delicious. Pickle chicken was juicy and tender. Fries and pickles were perfect. Great lunch once again.

Crab & Catfish - FRIED CATFISH BASKET

Crab & Catfish

She explained the different menu boards to us, one is for seafood boils, one is for fried food and one was the lunch menu. We placed our orders, grabbed our drinks and sauces and took a seat at one of the large, loungey booths. The sauces are self serve with tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, ketchup and malt vinegar. Our crab bites came out quick with a side of creamy (not spicy) remoulade sauce. We quickly dove in and were greeted with flavorful little nuggets of crabby goodness. Our shrimp and catfish platters came out next. The batter on both the shrimp and the catfish was incredible! It was cornmeal based, super crispy and well seasoned. You could see the flavor in the breading it was so good. The waffle fries were also exceptional. They weren't just there for backup, they were part of the delicious crispy flavor trio. The portion size was generous. I ate about half and took the other half with while my parents split a platter. The inside of the restaurant is very spacious and clean with a bright, modern feel to the space. It would be good for small or large groups. Again, I just wish I had tried this place sooner! I will be back ASAP to try some of the other menu items. The seafood boils look interesting, served with different flavored butters. I fully recommend this place for locals or if you're just stopping through the area and craving delicious seafood.

Since it was my first time being able to get a daiquiri I took the chance and got a mango daiquiri. It had me spinning after a few sips but it was a perfect match with the food. The server was so polite and offered great alternatives if you wandered about mixing and matching menu items. My food ended up taking a while so they gave me an extra piece of fish and let's just say that I was certainly pleased with that gesture. I didn't eat it all In one setting, so I was able to take some home and actually have lunch the next day. The place was such a relaxed space and easy spot to consume your food. It wasn't too cold in there and it wasn't too noisy. I will surely return.

Fish Daddy's Grill House - The best stack of onion rings!

I hadn't been to Fish Daddy's for a number of years. Today after church my wife and I went for a…read moremid-afternoon lunch. Upon entering, there was already a waiting line to be seated and we were told it would be about a 10 minute wait. The restaurant was quite full, although we did see a few tables that were being cleared. It took us less than 10 minutes to be seated at a booth in the bar area. We had an excellent server who greeted us warmly, gave us a minute, at our request, before taking our drink order. We both ordered a Mexican martini which in my mind was essentially a margarita in a martini glass. This had an olive in the bottom and the drink had silver tequila, Cointreau, orange and fresh lime juice, handshaken or however you want it. The rim was salted. Quite yummy. For a starter, we decided to get onion rings. We were absolutely amazed at how large the portion of onion rings was. If you're an onion ring fan, I think you'll love these. They had a very light coating on them and they were cut fairly thin. Served with two different dipping sauces. They were scrumptious. I also have to say that the prices for literally everything on the menu were so reasonable. It's no secret that restaurant prices have been rising steadily the last couple years. I felt the prices here were several years behind the times. I'm not complaining about that. You get a lot of value when you go to Fish Daddy's. The portions are generous, and the prices are lower than you would think. We decided to split a FD's Combo. You choose three items from a list of seven and you also get to choose two sides. We ordered the cornmeal catfish, the chicken tenders and the fresh North Atlantic salmon. For the sides we choose green beans and a baked potato with sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese. By accident, the Kitchen sent out fried shrimp instead of the chicken tenders, but when I brought that to the attention of our server, he simply brought out chicken tenders and we sort of got the shrimp as a freebie. We had no complaints and were again amazed at the value and how good everything was. Even though the restaurant was quite busy, it was not loud at all. We had absolutely no problem conversing during our meal. Will definitely be a more frequent visitor now that we have reacquainted ourselves with Fish Daddy's Grill House.

The service was a little bit slow today, but they were quite busy. The waiter was very friendly and stayed on top of refilling my water which I appreciated because I drink a lot of water. The food was good quality as always. I enjoyed the different fries. I am sad that they no longer have fried pickles, but the guy said it's been like that for a little while so it tells me how long it's been since I've been here. I will always appreciate the prices and the good quality food that I get here.

We came for a date night: I have such mixed reviews of this place…read more I'll start by the atmosphere and the service were very good, the drinks were good so I cannot complain there. BUT- it was beyond overpriced for what it was. The steak was decent, ok, nothing stood out- very expensive for a filet. The al la carte sides we absolutely hated, they did not taste good and same issue, were way overpriced for what they were. I think we paid $12-13 for mashed potatoes on the side? A little insane to me for them to not even be that good. The dessert. We were so frustrated when they asked if we wanted a slice of cake for dessert, this being our first time we had no idea how large the portion was on the cake, it was almost comical. and then we were beyond upset when we saw the bill and realized the " slice" of cake was $30???? No one told us the portion size, the price, we were a little annoyed by that. Overall, I would come back here for drinks, I would go somewhere else for the food.

Can you say overpriced?!…read more Overpriced overpriced overpriced! Trying to be an upscale restaurant without the quality. New York prices in Tulsa! Everything à la cart and my "double cut" pork chop was overcooked and dry - AFTER I asked for medium rare! I thought " double cut " would mean two ribs or at least thick. Mine was lacking in volume. Girlfriend's ribeye just ok and a bit fatty. Waiter didn't know if it was grass fed, grass finished, grain fed, finished or much of anything else! Try spudders for a better steak at 60% of the bill!
