Scallops with sides red beans & rice and corn cob
    Jim S.

A friend kept pushing me to try this place. Took two years but here I am. Tried the broiled scallops and they were cooked perfectly with a hint of blackened seasoning. While the red beans and rice were not really to my liking, it was topped with more sausage than beans and rice... nice. The corn on the cob was some of the best I've had. The wait sraff were all very attentive and friendly. I'll be back!

A Tulsa institution, White River is the best seafood in town. Whether you're going for home cooking, high-quality, or shopping for ingredients, it's the must-stop-shop. Their menu covers a wide variety of fresh fish from orange roughy, to mahi mahj, and flounder. If you cannot a the fish that you like here, then it's a you-problem. The best part is the homestyle options...fried shrimp, fried catfish, hush puppies, stuffed crab. All magnificent! For the win: Cocktail appetizer and a cup of gumbo to start. Then the fried shrimp or grilled mahi mahi for your main with a side of cole slaw and fried okra. Finally, finish it off with a slice of French silk pie.

This was definitely not our first choice for lunch but I wish I lived in Tulsa! I would seriously make this a weekly event. Not knowing what to expect we walked in and I noticed you had to order at the counter. No worries because we came after the lunch rush. The menu board was up on the wall and was easy to read. Plenty of options to choose from but I quickly made my selection. I chose the Fried Perch with Cole Slaw & Fries. The service was very good and our meals were brought to our table fairly quickly. Overall it was a good selection, the perch was tasty and although I would get again there are several other options I would take before I take the perch again. The items I didn't particularly care for, the hush puppies! They were good just not hot enough. It seems as if they just sat under a heat lamp. I also chose the Cole Slaw which was fair, it just didn't have enough flavor for me. The fries I ordered crispy and they were perfect. My take, if you are a seafood person then this is a must try!

    1/4 pound fried clams

05-07-2024, 5:30 PM, my wife and I went to White River Fish Market & Restaurant - Broken Arrow. We started with a 1/4 pound of fried clams; came with cocktail sauce and lemon. The clams tasted like clams; not fried breading. I ordered their smoked salmon [for the first time], with green beans and onion rings. It was perfectly smoked, with subtle smoky tasting moist flaky meat. Onion rings are always good and green beans are cooked with onions. My wife had her favorite, grilled shrimp and scallops, with rice and salad. We both had iced tea that was refilled often. Service is always great and staff is friendly.

This location is just as good & every bit as busy as the original location. We came on a Friday for dinner. They were slammed but our food came out quickly and hot off the grill. The smoked rainbow trout had great flavor and the broiled flounder was massive and cooked to perfection. Fried okra was a hit and the coleslaw is the perfect side to lighten up a rich meal. The only thing I wasn't impressed with (again) were the onion rings. They look so impressive you have to get them but they're crunchy not crispy. Everything else is just deeelish!

Large servings of good tasting country style sides, accompanied unacceptable fried fish, served at a price that really makes you disappointed that you ate there. If you are a big eater, you will get full. If you are looking for really good fish you be will upset that you paid $45 + tip, for two meals. This is our second and last try of the Broken Arrow White River Fish market. Years ago I was fan of the Tulsa icon located on N. Sheridan. It was "THE fish restaurant " in Tulsa. We had dined at the Broken Arrow restaurant shortly after they opened, about five years ago. The experience was average. Not worth the time to write a review about the mediocre dining. Fried or broiled, nothing exciting. We had not returned until today. Today's disappointment was in their signature menu item, the fish. My wife's catfish was fair, three over cooked, filets with a thin cornmeal coating. My fried Orange Roughy was sad. No breading on the fish. Just deep fried, over cooked, which formed a leathery outer layer and allowed the fish to be dry inside. I had difficulty cutting it with a fork. I tore it apart with my hands and ate it that way. I'm done....

Once again never fails best seafood in town and always great service. This isn't your fancy sit down restaurant, this is a family style split a table if you need to and enjoy talking while eating the best seafood hands down... I highly suggest the salmon, fried jumbo shrimp, onion rings, coleslaw and on special nights lobster! Their hush puppies are heavenly and they have desert but I promise you won't have space left over to eat it... maybe take it to go for tomorrow night! Stop reading start eating!

My wife and I stopped at the White River Fish Market in Broken Arrow. We dined here once before several months ago and enjoyed the visit. I wish I could say the same about this visit but can't. We ordered onion rings and fried oysters for an appetizer. My wife ordered the shrimp dinner with fries and slaw. I ordered ocean perch with fries and slaw. Both dinners came with hush puppies. I really don't like to give bad reviews, but sometimes I feel the need. This is one of those where we've had previous good experience. And this time not so good. The slaw, fries and onion rings were the best part of our meals. First thing to arrive at our table was the fried oysters that was so burned they were crunchy when you tried to eat them. Next came the Onion rings that were good. Next came our meals and the shrimp, fish and hush puppies were all very overcooked. The portions were large and the service met our expectations. We will give White River with the two out of three chance in the future.

Cod was tough, onion rings were so overcooked they were inedible. Hush puppies were hard and bland. Poor meal for almost $50.

For those interested in cooking, they have many recipes on their websites which is unique. If you love the neatness and cleanliness of Reasor's then you are going to love The Fresh Market. The hush puppies were good but I prefer just plain regular old hush puppies. These tasted like they had maybe jalapeño in it. They went spicy just a little kick to them. The serving size is a big portion for the combos. It came with three fish fillets. The fish was fried good but it lacked seasoning. The shrimp was good! We all actually liked the shrimp. The fries were good too there was just a lot. My son loved the onion rings. My husband ordered the jumbo shrimp combo and he loved his shrimp. They were fried perfectly. He also got a side of corn which was good. I saw this place on TikTok and that's what brought me here. Like I said it was good and I love the fact that it is made fresh right there, but it lacked seasoning. Oh and I also loved that it wasn't fishy, if that makes sense.

She explained the different menu boards to us, one is for seafood boils, one is for fried food and one was the lunch menu. Our crab bites came out quick with a side of creamy (not spicy) remoulade sauce. We quickly dove in and were greeted with flavorful little nuggets of crabby goodness. Our shrimp and catfish platters came out next. The batter on both the shrimp and the catfish was incredible! It was cornmeal based, super crispy and well seasoned. You could see the flavor in the breading it was so good. The waffle fries were also exceptional. They weren't just there for backup, they were part of the delicious crispy flavor trio.
