Chef Swepston's cuisine blends modern Cajun and creole influences, with a menu that evolves to highlight seasonal specials. During my visit, the featured dish was rabbit, showcasing the restaurant's creativity and range. Bodean's aesthetic is a perfect blend of elegance, modernity, romance, and intimacy. The dark walls, painted in shades of black and gray, are accented by touches of blown glass and soft creams, creating a striking yet inviting atmosphere. Its layout, is reminiscent of a luxurious ocean liner. passionate and enthusiastic about Bodean. Overall, excellent service. Our water glasses were full, silverware and plating was swapped between courses. Chef's Selection of Cheese & Charcuterie Arguably, Chef Swepston crafts the best charcuterie board in Tulsa--perhaps even all of Oklahoma. This is the penultimate Cheese & Charcuterie board, with an absolutely perfect balance of selections. His expertly curated array of meats and cheeses balances floral, salty, sweet, and tangy notes. Highlights included the Negroni Italian Blue, with its sweet vermouth and tangy blue cheese notes. Escargot Vol-au-vent This dish opens with bold notes of boozy red wine and garlic, transitioning into slightly bitter middle notes of escargot and herbs, and finishing with the rich flavors of puff pastry and butter. The balance of salty, sweet, and bitter is an good appetizer. Fried Calamari The calamari featured a well-executed breading and a unique spin on traditional sweet chili sauce, which was the standout element of the dish. Only the body of the squid was used, cut into rings without tentacles. The fry was expertly done, achieving a tender texture without being overly chewy. It is a good dish not at the same level or caliber as the previous offerings. Rabbit Confit with oyster mushrooms, kale, calabrese peppers, fig, and rabbit consommé The rabbit leg is cooked to perfection, tender enough to fall off the bone. Its delicate flavor is elevated by the rich, salty, nutty butter it was poached in for hours. The addition of fig brings a beautiful sweetness that perfectly balances the savory rabbit, while the Calabrese peppers add a tangy acidity to each bite. Seared Jumbo Sea Scallops with pomegranate, fried yucca, pickled fresno, butter toasted pecan, en nogada sauce Chef Swepston knocks on the door of borderline transcendent. The dish is a masterclass of exploration and flavors. The scallops were cooked to perfection, their delicate flavor never overwhelmed by the dish's other elements. Sweet, sour, nutty, salty, and buttery notes were expertly explored. A borderline pièce de résistance dish. Stone Crab Stroganoff with house made egg noodles, duxelles, cream, sour cream, and parmesan cheese. Our final savory course continues to knock on the door of pièce de résistance. The rich duxelle and cream sauce delivered an earthy depth, with tangy sour cream notes rounding out each bite. The stone crab claw meat provided the perfect protein, offering a robust sweetness that harmonized beautifully with the sauce's slightly sour, slightly salty, and decadently rich profile.A dish on the high end of excellent. Chocolate Dome A Bodean classic, this dessert is visually stunning. It showcases a delightful contrast of textures, from the light and airy chocolate mousse to the crunchy, slightly sweet-and-salty chocolate cookie crust. Summary: Bodean continues to be the quintessential fine dining destination in Tulsa. Its offerings are sophisticated without being pretentious, its atmosphere upscale yet inviting, and its seafood remains unquestionably the best in the city. When Chef Swepston lets his creativity run wild with dishes like the scallops, rabbit, and charcuterie, the heart and soul of a "raging Cajun" are on full display, and all of Tulsa is the better for it.

Just enjoyed a lovely evening at Bodean. Our server, Michelle, was outstanding. She provided great explanations about fish I was not familiar with and how it would be prepared. All of the food was delicious. We started with the shrimp & lobster bisque, which had plenty of meat along with an amazing, creamy soup. Entrees of king crab stroganoff and New Zealand Groper were excellent. I substituted the blue crab risotto for the mashed potatoes that came with the groper. The dining room is perfect for table conversation.

Talk about a great place! We went early one evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was wonderful! The staff was great at making suggestions, super kind, and even brought us a special menu they wrote on for us to keep. The food was delicious and fresh!

I got treated to a birthday dinner at Bodean's tonight. It was my first time and will definitely not be the last. The food and service were impeccable. We started off with Prince Edward Island oysters. My mom is obsessed with malpeque oysters and now I might be too. The flavor was the perfect sweet and salty, unlike other oysters I've tried. Other delicious appetizers we ordered: yellowfin tuna tartare, clam chowder, gumbo. My husband was slightly disappointed with the gumbo. Our waitress said there was chicken and andouille sausage but he didn't see any chicken. It's not a big deal but I guess he was looking forward to the chicken. For our entrees, I ordered a surf & turf - 8oz wagyu ribeye and 2 scallops. It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus along with a Demi glaze on the side. I believe the glaze normally comes on top of the ribeye but our waitress decided it was best on the side. Good choice! I wasn't very fond of the Demi glaze. My husband and mom both ordered the sea bass. They really enjoyed the vegetable medley and fried leeks that came with the dish. At the end of our dinner, I was given a dessert to go because my goodness, I was so full! Still am, actually! We were also given complimentary coffee cakes. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you for a great night!

One word: AMAZING Stopped by after work at 7 PM and the place was packed. Luckily, if you have a party of 2 or less, you can sit at the bar without making reservation. The food here is delicious but portion size is rather small so don't expect to be full, maybe with the bread. I was told the popular items are oysters and Chilean sea bass so I ordered these naturally. The oysters are supposedly shipped from 3 different places: LA, British Columbia, and Prince Edward Island. Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference as they all taste the same to me. I would say get the biggest ones because one of them is so small but all I could taste is the sauce. The Chilean seabass is the best I've eaten. Being seared is why I really like it. The inside is moist and sweet yet still has a strong texture to the meat. It's not too soft which is perfect to me. Everything else goes really well with it, particularly the fried leeks, amazing. The server asked me how the food was at the end. I told him "Delicious but I am still hungry and I can't afford any more money." He just laughed and didn't say anything in response. Honestly, you could skip the alcohol or wine to save money. You could get these at a lower price elsewhere. I plan to comeback and try the tuna.

Always a treat to go to this hidden gem. Easy to forget about this place because it's kind of hidden away and they don't need to advertise. I also almost always eat the Chef'Special presuming that the fish is fresh. I was delicious and the service is on point. Bonus sister, stop by the market and get some fresh fish to go.

Bodean's has been a long-time establishment in Tulsa. I hadn't been in years so for date night my husband and I chose to come here. We started with drinks, then ordered the escargot appetizer. Although it's not the typical escargot with the warm butter, it was still very tasty. Our entrees were salmon and grouper. The salmon was fabulous!! The grouper was great as well, but if I return I'm definitely ordering the salmon. For a fine dining restaurant, the service was good not great. I think it was honestly just the personable demeanor that was lacking. But she did answer our questions about menu items and returned promptly with drink/food items. We will be back to Bodean's again!

There is plenty of parking for the restaurant as it is part of a larger plaza. You walk into the restaurant and are greeted by a medium sized fish tank. We had reservations for date night and were seated right away. The interior has dimmed lights and several booths with tables in the middle, a perfect date night setting. Our waitress was lovely and mindful when we mentioned different food allergies. The Caesar salad had a great dressing, one of my favorites creamy and the right amount of flavor. The gumbo was delicious, hearty and flavorful with 4 different meats. We both enjoyed our entrees. I had the salmon and the Brussel sprouts were excellent. It was an interesting pairing with the navy beans but I liked it. I had flowers in my Brussel sprouts which made my plate very colorful. My husband enjoyed the trout, artichokes and fingerling potatoes. During dinner we discussed when we would try on our next visit.

I actually ate here many years ago while visiting my best friend in Tulsa. I've been here twice, once we sat next to the kitchen and another was in the back room. We knew a fishmonger at the fish market, so that's how we knew to try this place. It is pricey, but very fair for the amazing seafood you get. On par with any seafood in Dallas, etc. Each time we like to splurge and get three courses each! Salmon, cod, halibut, seafood pasta, oysters, calamari, crepe brûlée, their specialty chocolate dome thing. All amazing. Can't wait to return!

First--this place is STUNNING. It's in the old Palace Café and they've done such a good job updating it while keeping that vintage charm. The dishes, the vibe, the whole aesthetic? Nailed it. Now let's talk logistics because this matters: Getting a reservation was... a journey. Couldn't reach anyone for months. Finally did, booked a few weeks out, called to confirm the day before--nothing. BUT it worked out because apparently they only really accommodate larger groups in their upstairs private room anyway... which is exactly where we ended up. And honestly? Perfect. We showed up a little early and everything was ready. Our waiter Elliot was there and super kind and attentive... just... slooooow. Like we were there for 2.5 hours slow. We were always waiting on something. Food & drinks: - Chouchou (most of us got it): delicious... but it's basically a giant ice cube with a little cocktail. Not mad, just... noting the value. - Funeral rolls (yes, THOSE funeral rolls): best I've ever had. No notes. - Pastry basket: get it. So good for the table. - Fries with garlic aioli + homemade ketchup: you have to ask, but DO IT. That garlic aioli?? I'd order a pint and drink it like soup. - "Freezer Door" martini: I knew what I signed up for ordering a martini... but this was STRAIGHT gin. Could not do it. Bonus moment: we used their side bar area to do build-your-own flower bouquets and it was the cutest little setup. Overall? Beautiful space Great food Fun group vibe Service is slow--plan for it Would I go back? Yes. Would I plan ahead and block off half my day? Also yes.

I ordered snow crab legs with garlic butter seasoning and boiled eggs, no spice. My friend ordered the same but hers was extra spicy. Our food comes out, I take one bite, and suddenly I'm coughing and choking like I just lost a fight with a seasoning packet. It was the same as her order -- definitely not what I asked for. I send it back, and the server returns suspiciously fast. I dig in again and immediately notice the crab legs are waterlogged, still a little spicy... and then I see them: my half-eaten boiled eggs from round one. That's when I realized--they didn't remake anything. They just rinsed it off added a different sauce and said, "Voilà!" My friend asked the server if they just rinsed it and recooked it and he actually said yes. I was disappointed, annoyed, and honestly confused--like, who does that? They didn't even try to hide the fact that they did that by refreshing the plate. My friend asked for it to be made fresh (which they finally did), but seriously... rinsing off someone's food and reserving it is wild. I was not prepared for that level of creativity.
