Saturday the Fourteenth of February after Six O'clock to be exact. I came in with a family member looking for something but what we found was a bad attitude and really bad customer service. I'm not one to write one star reviews but this is one I can't let go. The employee or should I say the girl running the shop looked really unhappy when we walked in and that we just ruined her night. She did get off her chair to go through the motions of helping us but sat back down looking miserable. I did try to joke with her but she wasn't having it. We couldn't find what we were looking for and we were leaving and that's when she became helpful. Yeah, because we were leaving, not cool. So to the manager or supervisor, if you think I'm making this up? Look at the cameras inside the shop. Zoom in on her demeanor and her body language. Again I'm not one for giving one star reviews but as you know when you mess with a family member and you're there to witness it? There's no way you can let it go. I like the location in Claremont because of how friendly and helpful they are and I think this shop Needs that really bad. Laughing Buddha was definitely the right choice for me. You can tell that they take pride in being a well-maintained and hygienic practice. It's brightly lit, spacious, and clean inside and they take the time to explain how they extensively sterilize their equipment. The prices were very fair. I paid $150 for 3 ear piercings. Cartilage and lobe piercings are roughly the same price, about $30 not including jewelry. Picking out jewelry wasn't my favorite part. The costs are not displayed so if you're trying to stick to a budget you have to ask for prices repeatedly. I felt a little pressured to just say yes when one sounded cheaper. Prices also don't include the backings which were about $10. I learned afterwards that you actually need to buy multiple backings for getting the piercings resized as they heal. I would have liked to know that upfront. The procedures themselves went well. They're done in doctors office looking exam rooms. Unfortunately you have to go in yourself so if you're nervous that might be something to consider. It might be industry standard, I don't know, but I wasn't expecting to go in myself so it was a bit nerve wracking. They let in someone to observe so there's definitely room for a guest to come in. My piercer, Airick, was a really friendly and experienced guy. They do take walk ins but I really don't recommend it. They seem pretty booked so definitely make an appointment or at least call ahead and see what times are available that day. Even with an appointment, it took a little longer than I expected to be serviced.

She took her time going over pricing and all the jewelry options I was considering and never made me feel rushed. I was pretty nervous, and I had my husband and two boys with me -- the staff was so warm and welcoming to my kids, which meant so much to me. SYDNEY WAS AMAZING!!! She did my conch piercing and stretched one of my old industrial piercings, and I truly couldn't have asked for a better experience. She was professional, thorough, calming, and so incredibly kind. I told her how nervous I was, and she made me feel completely at ease. She walked me through every single step, which helped so much. My conch piercing was super quick and way less painful than I expected -- maybe a 5/10 at the peak, and then it faded fast. Honestly, right after it felt like 0/10 pain! Stretching my old piercing was a little more "spicy" but still totally manageable. Sydney's technique was top tier. Pricing is slightly on the higher side, but absolutely worth it for the quality, professionalism, and overall experience. Within 3 months one of the pair of earrings broke. I got the replacement last week and without even wearing it one single time one earring broke already just seems fishy that the same model of earring broke within 6 days when I refused to pay an additional $15 for a second warranty. I've never had earrings break this easily ever. I will say they did offer to let me buy another warranty to replace it and extend it to another year but I don't think that it's fair. ( if I had the earrings longer and worn them I would understand). Just fyi you're better off buying earrings somewhere else.
