I came to Sara's Boutique as soon as they opened at 10am and Kasandra started collecting dresses that would work for the occasion and my petite frame. I am not trendy. ;-) On Wednesday, my mom and I went to lunch and a walkabout and of course had to stop in Sara's. We hadn't been inside in a year or so. I loved walking in and seeing the treasure trove of pieces that caught my immediate attention. The prices on everything are moderate. They haven't raised their prices much over the years which is amazing. I couldn't help myself, Kassandra, Sara's daughter, was assisting us and the other patrons in the shop. She was lovely! She somehow knew without me saying or mentioning or even touching that I am a pantsuit girl. She brought me two and I was sold...hook, line, and sinker! I tried on both that she brought to me and they fit like a glove. The styles and patterns were different between the two and not something I've seen in any other store which is one of the many things that makes Sara's such a gem. She has glasses and streaks in her hair - I forgot her name, but if I remember it I will gladly share it. My boys are children - sometimes they are a little noisy, but nothing unusual. On one occasion, they were simply standing in line and talking a bit, and she immediately told them to be quiet. I honestly didn't understand - is this a hospital or a clothing store? On another visit, she literally followed us around the store. No matter what my children did, she kept finding reasons to comment and correct them, to the point that they started feeling uncomfortable and even afraid of her. No customer or child should feel that way while shopping. It doesn't matter how good the merchandise or prices are - this is not how you treat customers. The store is large and often messy, yet instead of managing staff or organizing the store, she seemed focused only on my children. When I asked for her name, she loudly said my name back to me and told me I was welcome to file a complaint, as if this is something she's used to hearing. I have been shopping at Kiko + Sven for the past several years. It was one of the first stores I…read morelearned about when I went to the very first Adams Avenue Spirit Stroll, which is a local, annual sip and shop event. I then went back to do a little holiday shopping, and have been back many times since. I am also happy that the shop continues to host a spirt stop on the stroll. Kiko + Sven is a tiny shop with a lot of cute items. Some appear handmade and other are just cute or unique. They probably have more jewelry than anything. It is mostly dainty gold and silver, some with long beads and some made from clay. They have a back wall that is full of greeting cards, and a section of toddler and baby items. There are usually quite a few candles and soaps, and a small amount of cocktail/cooking supplies. All of it calls out to me... and makes me want to spend money. They also have a rack of clothing in the shop, and usually a sale rack outside. I have bought a couple of tops and a cute shawl there in the past, but since the selection is so small, I often don't find any clothing that either is my size or style. I think it is a great shop to browse and find something unecspected. As it is very small, the times I went looking for something more specific for gifts, it has been a bit hit or miss. Their stock varies over time and you may or may not luck out. All in all, if you are shopping or eating on Adams, go check it out. It's really fun to browse and you may find something you like. Also, they will make you an account so you can put your phone number in for discounts without any coupons or solicitaitons.

Macy's is closing, but you'd never know it with how dedicated she's and hard she's working. The dressing room is packed and people just leaving piles of clothes everywhere. She's running everything here. I thought she was a manger because of how on top of everything she is and how everyone else that is working was checking in with her for direction. To my surprise she's not a manager, SHE SHOULD BE. What a gem, seriously. She'd be a huge asset to ANY place she goes to after this. The sale is killer, I got a designer dress for $15!
