RELAXED SHOPPING & MARINA VIEWS! Seaport Village is so cozy and charming. Need to show someone…read morearound San Diego? Seaport! Want a quick coffee run and walk by the beach? Seaport! Looking for souvenirs and specialty shops? Seaport! Parking is also very affordable and available. I always park here whether I'm visiting a hotel, the park, or Seaport itself. It's a perfect spot for taking a breather and simply enjoying the day! My family and I took a family member who was visiting us for the day. We grabbed some ice cream at Ben & Jerry's, coffee at Spill the Beans, and took a ride on the San Diego seal (a hydro-terra) ride. Seaport Village is a central point in downtown SD. It's not just a tourist attraction, it's so much more. The heart of the marina in SD!

It's a great spot to wander, people-watch, or just enjoy the ocean views. Food options range from waterfront restaurants to casual spots and quick bites. There's also a small pier area where fresh fish is cut on-site for locals--halibut, white seabass, yellowtail, rockfish and mahi-mahi which is sometimes referred to as dolphin or dolphin fish. The fish market is only open on Saturdays. There are benches and some grassy areas that are dog-friendly, there were many dog walkers during our visit. That said, it does come with trade-offs: * It can get very crowded * Food quality is hit or miss * Paid parking is tight and finding a space on the weekends can be difficult Bottom line: A worthwhile stop for the setting and atmosphere--just go in with the right expectations.

It's a destination by itself, but if you've got time, make a day of it by grabbing a gorgeous flower petal cake slice at the bakery next door, then walk around Little Italy (aka Restaurant Row) where you'll find lots of great choices for lunch & dinner. BUT FIRST SHOP -since hours are limited and you won't want to miss this shopping experience! You'll find lots of unique gifts, items to decorate your home, and even jewelry & scents that anyone would love to receive! I had way too much fun looking at every single thing in the store. If I could, I'd take it all. If you want a gift, invite me to your next party cuz I'm just dying to shop here again! On your way in, tell Sean I sent you! He's not only the owner, he's also the creative genius behind everything you see. So if you're looking for something special and don't see it, I'd check with him to see if he can order it. Today, thanks to preservation and a significant renovation completed in 2013, The Headquarters is an open-air shopping center with restaurant and retail spaces surrounding an interior courtyard. We have dined here at three of the restaurants over the last decade and enjoyed some quiet time in the courtyard. It's one of our favorite places to meet friends and bring visitors. The Headquarters is an easy walk from the hotels in the waterfront area. Convention Center and Petco Park are also walkable. The Metro Green Line Seaport Village stop is also a short walk away -- BTW the Trolley is our favorite way to get here. Oh, before I forget. There's a hidden gem here: a free, mini-museum with artifacts from the old police station, including eight original jail cells, and a wall of mug shots. Check it out, and step back into a slice of San Diego history
