The unit had some nice upgrades and the online images were accurate to what we received. OWNER BEWARE -- UNAUTHORIZED ACH DISPUTE, MONTHS OF LOST REVENUE, AND EXCESSIVE FEES…read more My experience with Nomadness Rentals was an absolute nightmare. They left my newly prepared Mammoth Lakes property effectively unadvertised and without a single paid booking for more than three months, despite my repeatedly asking why the listing was not live and what they were doing to generate reservations. While my property sat vacant and I lost substantial rental income, Nomadness continued charging me for setup, inspections, lock installation and programming, maintenance coordination, subscriptions, cleaning-related requirements, and other fees. The worst part was a $1,817.17 ACH debit from my bank account that I formally disputed as unauthorized. My position has consistently been that the account was provided to receive owner payouts--not for Nomadness to withdraw whatever charges it chose. Owners should be extremely cautious about giving this company access to a checking account and should require written approval for every single expense. In my experience, their business model appeared far more focused on generating recurring and mandatory fees from property owners than on successfully marketing and renting the property. Owners are pushed to purchase equipment, install specific items, use designated services or contractors, pay upfront setup costs, and continue paying recurring fees--even when the company's actual performance is extremely poor. I personally found these practices deceptive, predatory, and completely unacceptable. After months of delays, zero paid occupancy, disputed charges, and lost revenue, I had no confidence that Nomadness was acting in my best interest as the property owner. I strongly caution all property owners--particularly first-time vacation-rental owners, elderly owners, or anyone who may not closely examine every invoice and bank transaction--to review every contract provision, preserve every email, refuse open-ended ACH authorization, and demand written approval before any charge is incurred. Based on my documented experience, I would never trust Nomadness Rentals with another property, another bank account, or another dollar. Avoid this company.

The Village gondola soars overhead in the parking lot of these condos. There is also a shuttle stop right at the end of the driveway so you can use the Mammoth shuttles and nighttime trolley so you never really have to drive anywhere! The only downsides I can think of if I really try is there are no balconies to enjoy the views outside. It snowed about a foot on our last night and we could not find any shovels or window scrapers in the condo. Luckily someone in the parking lot let us borrow their shovel to dig our cars and walkway out. Overall fantastic place, will definitely stay here again!

Crystal was very helpful and understanding of the weather situation along with delays in driving. I have never driven in those conditions and every forum related to mammoth mountain (Facebook and Instagram) said it was safe to stay out if you weren't in Mammoth already. Crystal, with the help of my Expedia agent, refunded my reservation despite their cancellation policy. Thank you so much Crystal! We stayed for three nights at this place. The rooms are great, but the old lady at the front desk…read morehas a pretty nasty attitude. The sign at the front desk says that if you stay three or more nights, you get room service. As I mentioned, we stayed three nights. When we went to the front desk to request clean towels and garbage service, she looked up our room number and informed us that we have to stay four nights in order to receive those services. It seems like she was intentionally choosing not to help us. We ended up taking out our own garbage, buying toilet paper at the store next-door and carrying our own linens back up to the room so that we had fresh supplies. On the morning of checkout, we left our room at 7 o'clock to go next-door for breakfast. When we returned at 8:15, our keys had been disabled and we were unable to enter into our room. Checkout time is 10 o'clock so I'm unsure why they chose to disable our keys so early in the morning. Again, we went downstairs and had to deal with the old lady up front. She did not seem interested in helping, but grudgingly gave us keys so that we could get back into our room until checkout time. It's unfortunate that such a beautiful property is being micromanaged by someone like the person at the front desk. Such potential being wasted on horrible employees. We will not be back.

Lake View Lodge worked fine for us as a one-night stop while traveling from Lassen Volcanic…read moreNational Park toward Death Valley National Park, mainly to spend some time exploring Mono Lake. For one night, it served its purpose perfectly well. But honestly, if we had stayed longer, I probably would have agreed more strongly with many of the other reviews. The rooms definitely feel dark, outdated, and a little dingy. Not terrible, but very much the kind of place where you say, "Well... at least we are only here one night." The biggest frustration was the reservation situation. At check-in, we were told we had booked the wrong date, even though our confirmation through Booking.com clearly showed the correct reservation date. We ended up being charged, and now we have to sort it out afterward through Booking.com, which is frustrating because based on other reviews mentioning similar issues, it honestly seemed more like a property-side problem than ours. Now for the surprisingly good part: the little café upstairs, which I believe may be associated with the lodge. That place was actually really enjoyable. Great views, a lovely outdoor yard area to sit and eat, and genuinely good food with huge portions. And when I say huge, I mean the burrito could probably qualify as emergency wilderness survival equipment. If you order it, prepare yourself. That thing could easily feed four people, no exaggeration. We may still be digesting it somewhere between Mono Lake and Death Valley. Overall, this is not a luxury stay by any means, but as a practical overnight stop near Mono Lake, it worked well enough. Just double-check your reservation details carefully and maybe arrive with realistic expectations about the rooms. Oh! And bring your own soap, they have this little quarter size soaps who are you kidding? My hands were laughing.

This is a solid motel when staying up at June Lake. It's a motel so this isn't a glamorous stay but…read moreI will say it's one of the better motels I've ever been to. The rooms are actually very big and comfortable. We had a downstairs room, off in the corner, with windows and a large living space and kitchen area. We couldn't get over how spacious the bedroom was and how comfortable it was for two people. The bed was super soft. Bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels. Soft towels too! A nice little couch and a three person kitchen table. Truly a large room great for when you'll be staying a few days. It was all of the little touches that made this room great as well. The fan worked and didn't make any noise. The heater worked great. The kitchen was equipped with a large fridge, sink, microwave, Toaster, and four burner stove. It was nice that they had cups, plates, bowls, and silverware. Honestly, anything you would need to eat in. We ended up eating out pretty much every meal because we wanted to enjoy trying the local businesses, but should I ever come back I would definitely pack enough to be able to cook here because it was a great set up. Tyler made check in and check out a breeze. He was nice and didn't give us much hassle when we needed to extend our check out by 30 minutes. He was very friendly from the get and insured we had everything we needed. We appreciated his kind demeanor as we checked in after hours of traveling. The location is five stars itself because you're dead in the center of June Lake downtown with restaurants on each side of you and right behind this motel is the very popular June brewing company. The location was walkable to everything we needed. We also appreciated that they had about a 10 car parking lot. When parking spots fill up, you are welcome to park on the street no issues. We felt that the rooms were pretty soundproof from outside activity but when you are on the bottom floor, we were at the mercy of the people above us. Unfortunately, the people above us were pretty loud, but that's just the way the dicerolls sometimes. I'm sure had we went to the motel staff they maybe would've helped but it just seemed Like too much to ask because really guests should be more courteous that we don't have to tell on them or confront them. The only real negative about being on the bottom floor, but I do prefer the bottom floor as it is easy in and out/not having to carry your bags up the icy stairs etc. The good news is this downtown area is pretty quiet and most of the businesses are closed by 8/9 PM so even if there are loud people, everyone seems to be in their rooms and winding down earlier than if you were in a big city so it was still pretty comfortable and reasonable overall. I would definitely recommend this motel when staying in June Lake, and should I come back up here soon this would definitely be my #1 choice.
