Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. During a 3-night stay, we experienced numerous maintenance failures and extremely poor support. This unit is clearly not well maintained. The first night, the circuit breaker tripped and we lost power and lights in most of the unit for 12 hours. I called and messaged repeatedly and could not get help. Cooking in pitch black wasn't easy. There was no after-hours emergency number on their voicemail at the time (this appeared only AFTER the incident when I complained). I requested compensation and received none. I was even told there were "no issues," despite being on the phone during business hours and receiving verbal instructions on how to fix it myself. This involved first finding the circuit box outside, then resetting the switches & GFI buttons inside. Finding the unit was also unnecessarily difficult. It's in Building G. We searched for 45 minutes in the dark. This information is buried under "Amenities" instead of being included with check-in instructions. When I pointed this out, I was treated like I was the problem. Additional issues included a TV that randomly stopped working (outlet broke), an extremely finicky furnace (we fixed a broken wire), a broken wall heater, an unsafe and unusable couch bed (claiming it is 'fine' should reflect their standards) pellet bags piled in the living area, flimsy fixtures, a shower door that wouldn't close, and loud furnace/vent noises at night. They want to argue with me because they say it's an easy fix. Well this isn't my house. All I know is the power is out and I have no help in the dark. Don't know where the box is don't know the switches. Plus this was fun- they had a lock in the circuit box! No accountability. Bottom line: poorly maintained unit and terrible management. Their response below alone has been just as dismissive as they have always been. Beware

Never once was I or my husband rude to him. We were unsatisfied with the state of the home and were told the housekeepers had to come and see the extent of the concerns. We agreed. The entire house smelled "stale" and of cigarettes. As if no one had cleaned the home or vacuumed in months. I called again to ask what the ETA is of the housekeepers. And once again Will Martin was extremely rude and unprofessional. I politely asked to speak to someone else since I was unsatisfied. He said there was no one and that I just kept repeating the same thing over and over again. So again I asked to speak to someone else and was denied. I asked for his name to file a complaint because never once was I hostile with this man. He said "would you like my birthdate as well" and proceeded to hang up on me. AS I AM CURRENTLY A GUEST STAYING AT THE PROPERTY HERE FOR ANOTHER TWO DAYS. I barely checked in an hour ago and have dealt with so much disrespect and unprofessionalism and never once was an apology given or accountability taken. I do expect a response or I will go ahead and take this up with my bank and continue elevating my complaint higher. How dare a business act in such a disgusting and malicious way. We are currently sitting in the car of the parking lot after housekeepers verbalized to us that no one had come to clean the property before since no one had been staying there all this time. I was generally happy with that service but realized that the percentage fee model blew the economics of my rental. After interviewing a few other companies, I settled on RBO Services. I've been using them for the last 2 months, and they have been a life saver. As long as you are generally savvy enough to manage your Airbnb and VRBO accounts and have sufficient time to manage the bookings, RBO Services' fixed fee setup can save a lot of money. In addition, they saved us money and headaches by recommending a new cleaner that supplies all of the linens, towels, paper towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, etc. They also go out of their way to help arrange deliveries as well as general handyman activities (for a reasonable fee). They've saved me several trips to Mammoth. Last, and certainly not least, they are genuinely nice people and very professional and responsive. If you can manage your own bookings, RBO Services can save you a fair amount of money and make your life a lot easier. I highly recommend them.

I planned this trip with a group of friends, and they could not stop commenting about how the chalets was the best stay they've been in at Mammoth. We stayed at chalet #9 which was not a ski out, but a very short walk to the main lodge/lifts and definitely a ski in from lower road runner. The chalet itself was cozy with plentiful seating, and even extra foldable chairs for our group. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms came equipped with hotel sized toiletries, which was a nice touch. The kitchen is a good size and well equipped with all the necessities, along with a fridge/freezer that was the perfect size to fit all of our weekend groceries. I also appreciated that they even had a huge pot to make group meals like pho, even though I had already brought my own instant pot. I would 110% stay here again and recommend the chalets to all of my family and friends. This was such a wonderful find. Thank you for the awesome stay Mammoth Mountain Chalets! :)

Not to discount you are a 100 feet from the gondola to canyon lodge and the village with a ton of restaurants, shopping and stores. We could walk to dinner in a minute and come back for poker night. Also an outdoor bbq at each place made dinner prep for our large group really easy. There is a ski rental place right in the village which was perfect and easy. Would definitely come back. Encourage anyone who is looking for an easy vacation in mammoth, with access to everything to book treehouse 1 and 2 or either one of you have a smaller group. Also, forgot to mention.
