I hired Statewide Remodeling through Home Depot, thinking the association would mean quality service and professionalism. I was quoted over $12,000 for a very basic shower remodel, and while this was steep, I went forward assuming I'd be taken care of due to the Home Depot connection. The remodel was completed in July 2024, but within two months, the top hinge on the shower door failed, causing it to come off and rest dangerously on the floor. It took ten days of calling and messaging multiple contacts with no central point of communication before a technician finally arrived. The technician was shocked it took so long, calling it a major safety hazard. The real nightmare began in October when, less than a month after the first repair, the door started loosening again. After sending messages on Thursday and Friday with no response, the door shattered Saturday night while I was in the bathroom, leaving me with cuts on my legs. I sent photos to Statewide Remodeling with no immediate reply, and despite the injury and scattered glass, there was still no urgent response. By Monday, the same contact who had been unresponsive offered to replace the door "at no cost." Given that I had just had this remodel done, this response was insulting and inadequate. To make matters worse, glass was spread all over my bathroom in fine, hazardous shards. My daughter, who I asked to bring me shoes to leave the bathroom safely, was also cut. Who is responsible for the clean up of dangerous powder-like glass, there was no assistance offered, leaving us to manage this on our own. I went and met with a store manager manager at the Home Depot where I first met Statewide Remodeling, she asked me to send a detailed email with pictures etc, which I promptly sent, 4 days later no response from her or Home Depot. Despite my repeated calls, texts, and even multiple emails to the CEO, I've had no response. I do not trust the same people to come and put a new shower door up. This is a safety issue. This experience has been beyond frustrating and disappointing. I would strongly advise anyone to reconsider hiring Statewide Remodeling; my experience has shown they're unresponsive, unprofessional, and unsafe. read more

So, Statewide remodeling remodeled my shower. The project appeared to go well. Then a few years later I notice a water leak in a strange place. There are not water pipes in the area but the wall is up against where the shower is Statewide Remolding replaced. I contact Statewide, because it appears that whatever water barrier they put in failed. However first they tried to say there was an existing leak. When i asked if there was existing leak why didn't you tell me so I can fix it before you put the new wall up. Then they backpedalled from the excuse and stopped responding. We visited Home Depot as we learned they offer custom shower doors, which is what we need. We were provided a number to call to set up an appointment which happens to be with Statewide Remodeling. The first time we reached out to them we were unable to schedule an appointment as they only open their scheduling books for a week at a time and our availability did not match theirs. The representative told us they would call us back once the following week of availability opened to schedule an appointment. We never heard back. We reached back out again a few weeks later and were able to schedule an appointment for 1pm on a Saturday. At 12:50, the day of the appointment, we received a call from them asking to reschedule our appointment because an appointment from earlier in the day had ran late and they would not be able to arrive by 1pm. We informed them that we wanted to keep our appointment and we were fine with a late arrival. They told us they would call us back by 1:30pm to inform us of when they would arrive. Again, we never received a call. It is blatantly obvious at this point that we are not valued as customers. If this is how difficult it is to even start the process with this business, I can't even imagine the rest of the process with them. I am HAPPILY taking my business elsewhere and advize anyone else considering them to not waste your time and energy as we did. As many of you have posted on this review we had a similar experience with Statewide remodeling. We contacted HomeDepot with the expectation of getting a contractor that was with HomeDepot to do a bathroom remodel. Since we had a really good experience with the door installation with Home Depot and the pricing was reasonable and the quality of work was exceptional. We have received the quote through an independent contractor which was roughly $23,000 which included exactly what we wanted to, the cost seemed pretty high but we wanted to do and check with another reputable company that also offered a warranty of their work and that is why we reached out to HomeDepot. The schedule process was a little weird, in that I got a call within 2 minutes of me filling out the form online at HomeDepot.com and we thought we were talking to somebody from HomeDepot but in hindsight it was probably statewide remodeling that was calling us. They insisted that my spouse be there for this quote and told us that it will be only for 90 minutes When SALESMAN showed up, he had a HomeDepot badge and made it seem like he worked for HomeDepot on the initial greeting. The salesman asked us what were our expectations, I told him that 1. We wanted to know if they were qualified contractors doing the job 2. We wanted a good overall scope of work that was clear to us of what they were doing. 3. Finally a very good breakdown of the cost estimate for us to make a decision. He started at the beginning insisted for us not to select marble because I think that's something that they do not offer and stated that they could not warranty which is a shame because if we have known that we would have stopped the appointment but we continued to see what the overall cost of the project would be. The experience was like being in a design center but without being able to touch or feel many of the items that he was recommending and the items that he was showing was not as nice as we would have hoped but we wanted to select it, with the expectation I would get a detailed estimate at the end and continue with the with the scope which he did do an overall good job of explaining. The overall appointment took 3 hours instead of the 90 minutes that was stated and through the whole process they were telling us how expensive typical bathroom remodels are with graphs on PowerPoint slides on a iPads showing that the modifications we wanted for our bathroom would cost $82,500 based on typical bathroom modifications (which was insane) however this was not a quote to be clear. It was game to prep us on the sticker shock to where if it was anything under you are getting a good deal. It was weird. He then proceeded to review the overall scope that we were requesting and again he forced us to narrow the scope to what he could do which was not what I wanted but he did do a good job of explaining everything and also highlighted the type of qualified contractors they have but not clear of what those qualifications were (except they are part of NARI) and then finally he got to the cost of that after 3 hours of the appointment. The overall cost was $42000 (also this didn't include the glass for the door, which they charge an additional $3000), with a significantly more than we had expected and I knew it was going to be more than this general contractor was quoting, but this was way more and don't buy anything from HomeDepot. What made me upset was the game that they were playing I told him very clearly at the beginning that I need a clear and good estimate of the work and in the end he just provided me a number with no details whatsoever and I told him that thank you for information but we cannot proceed forward with the project. My expectation was that he would stop and move on however that is when the high pressure sales tactics began, which went back and forth for nearly 45 minutes trying to get a down payment and trying to negotiate financing for the project What I found the most interesting as well was the fact that the 42,000 changed quickly to $34,000 and after I still said no they bought it down to $31,000 and asked me to sign a paper saying that this offer is only good for today and will not be offered later, because of "additional costs for visits for the sales man and overhead and marketing" which is the weirdest thing I've ever seen. Clearly it was bad estimate because how quickly the cost changed. That tells me he had a lot of built-in commissions for himself or the company, it almost seems like it was a snake oil salesman because he was saying jokes and stories that he's probably said a thousand times and it was clear to me they were overpriced which ok, if I tell you no then move on instead going though signing a ONE TIME OFFER TODAY ONLY crap, when I saw that I knew it was a shady company. And use classic high pressure sales tactics for you to sign the contract, but I was more disappointed in HomeDepot. read more

My wife and I just love our new walk in shower with sliding glass doors instead of a tub with a shower curtain. The technician was clean, thorough, knowledgeable and very likable. Edited... Statewide's communication SUCKS. First, the guy will be there... wait around all damn day and nope, you, sure just wasted a vacation day. He'll be there tomorrow, for sure, and early too. Nope, didn't show again. You'd figure for a $11k shower replacement, that this company could at least call... like before we waited around all damn day. In 2 weeks we had a demo guy come out and demo the shower, and a plumber come out and install the faucet valve. That was it... so far. This has been ridiculous. We have, so far, waited for this...(see pictures). Final review. Gonna up it one star. Communication from Statewide was horrible. Once a project manager, Tommy, got on it, things approved. The shower replacement proceeded. My wife and I joke that the workers are on "Island time" meaning, they say they'll be there at 8am to 9am, but really show up... noon-ish. Upon final walk through, a minor thing got overlooked, but we got a discount on the final price. In the end, the shower looks great. Also, in the sales presentation, Forest said that Statewide, "Doesn't hire contractors". Gotta call BS on that one. Both the plumbers and electrician were contracted. Xavier, the installation guy did a great job. Tommy, the project manager, did a great job as well. Statewide, I'll pass on ever contracting with you at all. Home Depot... same. read more

Since Statewide Remodeling didn't come and fix their mess of a shower install, today I'm having it torn out and replaced by Max Home which did a great job on our master bathroom. I guess I'll just chalk it up to a $11,186 dollar lesson. Hopefully others can learn from my experience and go with Max Home or other reputable company. I requested an estimate for two shower remodels. The salesman came two Saturdays ago; was nice and helpful. I was going to finance the project and he gave their financial company they use. He did the application for the loan and said be about 48 hours for answer. He said if I didn't hear from call him. It's been days and I haven't heard from or his company. I texted him once and called a few days later. I called the company and they are giving the run around. I get the receptions and she tells me that she give the my information to the right department and they still haven't responded me. This has been nine days with no response. read more

It took them seven almost 7 1/2 months to remodel our bathroom It was disgraceful. it was Unsupervised and management didn't seem to be able to get the job under control. This company is not as professional as they would like you to seem. I had held off writing my review for a few years in hopes that we had a mediocre experience out of bad luck. Firstly, the cost of their services are high. You're told that the techs are all contracted/background checked but several people that entered our home had nothing to do with Statewide. We had about 3x where due to their incompetence our water leaks happened through the story below. One time included when their plumber didn't properly tighten the sink drain after installing cabinets. There was always issue after issue. The only good thing about the remodeling process was that there was a field manager who would try to explain everything since the techs themselves may not be able to communicate everything. The reason I decided to write the review finally was that we realized recently that they hadn't given us all the warranty/LOT info information like they said they would. Neither have they kept records in their customer service dept. I need the warranty and lot info for my tub and it took them 3 months of me badgering before that gave me just the model of my tub. read more

10000 single person tile shower. Took over 2 months to complete. Old one was already ripped out before start of project. Took over 8 different contractors to come in and redo work that was done poorly. Eventually they outsourced the work to someone else to get it done correctly. We were referred to them through Home Depot and the salesman that came to our house did an excellent job of explaining the entire process and helping us select materials for the remodel. We had them convert our tub/shower to a walk-in shower, tile the floor and install a new vanity. The teams that did the work were very professional and very clean. The field supervisor did a great job of scheduling the workers and ensured all work was done correctly and immediately addressed any issues. They made sure we were completely satisfied before closing out the project. Would definitely use them again for any future remodels. read more

Sales pitch and salesperson knowledgeable and straight forward. Materials and selection high quality but limited in range. The part that bothered me was hey this is Cadillac service, you get what you pay for, yadda yadda. The project manager, while technically a nice guy, was either in over his head or unqualified and not up to date with issues relating back to the job. Don't sell me a Cadillac and deliver a Toyota. The tear out crew was least careful of my flooring. The install crew was fabulous and attention to detail on point. The plumber, not impressed as he caused most delay along with the glass contractor. We bought into remodel in February. At the time was told lead time was around 8-10 weeks. We said great. Was promised job to be complete before July 15 or so. It was not complete until end of August. I've remodeled a kitchen with Lowe's and it's basically on par with going into store with them with all things considered. This remodel was a master bath. So I've now done two complete tear outs with two companies and my advice to you is shop it with Lowe's then shop it with statewide and see which best fits your budget read more

My husband and I had a terrible experience with Statewide Remodeling. I agree with Lee. Everything after the salesman was a nightmare. We had them do some work in our bathroom. A project they said would take 10 days tops has taken a month. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional, disorganized company in my life. Nothing they said was true. They would say they were going to show up to work and just never show. Or they would come 3 to 4 hours late. What kind of company has such little respect for other peoples time. I could write a book about everything that went wrong but I dont want to take up that much space. I just want other consumers to know that statewide does not do what it says they are going to do and are more expensive than most. All we got from them were promises and lies. Two months later another sales person comes out and says you were quoted too little and we need to raise the price 10,000 dollars. YIKES! Long story short, they agreed to do the job for the original quoted price, this is the fun part. Parts ordered wrong, parts delayed, workers switched, no one showing up without making a phone call to the owner, etc. We were getting two bathroom remodels, not gutted, just cabinets, shower retiled, etc. 3 months after the job started, it finally finished with caveats. Hall bathroom, counter top, dull finish, shower master bath grout missing, shower heads leaking (inside the shower), baseboards in the bathrooms not included, etc. Many small details that were easy to correct, were left undone. We had to pay for ourselves. We were just glad it was over and wanted them out of our lives. read more

After being diagnosed with back and neck issues I decided to install a jacuzzi tub in my bathroom. I saw an advertisement by Kohler. I contacted Kohler in response to the advertisement who then referred me to Statewide Remodeling. After I contacted Statewide a representative quickly reached out to schedule an appointment. The representative came out and I signed a contract to remodel my bathroom and have a jacuzzi tub installed. Several different contractors came out, retiled my bathroom and installed the jacuzzi tub. One big problem, however: the tub didn't work! I contacted Statewide on several occasions to let them know of the problem. After going through several agents, they finally sent someone out to check it out and he informed me that the problem was that the air switch was broken. He indicated that a new air switch would be obtained and installed. When I didn't hear from him I contacted him and he referred me to someone else at the company. I am still waiting to hear from this person. It has been a month since the tub was installed and I have yet to use it since it has NEVER worked! Statewide charges first class prices but does not provide first class serve. In fact the service is substandard. Based on my experience I would never use them for any future remodels nor would I ever recommend them. read more

From start to finish all our questions were answered and in 1 bathroom there was a situation that took a little longer than expected (had to move a window) all was taken care of very professionally. Statewide has horrible customer service! They over charge for their products and once you sign your contract and they are passed the 3 day window of cancellation the game starts. The delays, products have to be ordered, we have to get you scheduled, then it's going to take days, it took only hours! We ended up with a toilet that didn't work, someone just dropped it off at our door when I wasn't home. Our sales person was Buddy nice older guy but didn't tell us about other products that we could have gotten to compete the bathroom. We did the demo of the bathroom and had already made a door bigger and did another. So, the whole job took them like 2 and half hours. $18,050 for a walk in tub. All I can say this purchase is not what we expected. One the tub is smaller than expected. We had to have them come out because it wasn't draining. And calling into the company is a real joy. Not! So, I turn on my a/c for the first time and it was draining to the tub before the tub was put in. Somehow through the installation we thought they redid the drain. I mean we paid $18,050 to do the tub installation. But because we did the demo they have taken the position not there fault. Though the guy putting in the tub made the comment to my son that it appeared it had been rerouted. Oops! His mistake! So, I call they send someone out them me not to do anything they we have someone contact me the next day to decide what they are going to do. Did I get a call? Nope! Did anyone show up? Nope! I called the same girl Kimberly for her to tell me it wasn't their fault. Someone should have called me from the plumbing department. She gives me to a manager John that's a real piece of work. No customer service skills at all. "Look lady it's not our fault." Seriously? I almost thought we were at fault until my son texted me that "I guess that guy was wrong I guess that wasn't rerouted" and I replied, "What exactly are you saying? You talked about the a/c drain?" You would think a company that took as much money for a walk in tub. Did no cosmetic work at all. Just let that sink in a minute. $18,050 to put in a tub. Your paying for the tub and installation and supposedly a lifetime warranty. How much can you do to any other room with $18,050?? If anyone comes and offers you a walk-in tub run the other way. Don't just walk, run the other way! And run from Statewide remodeling! They are rude and overpriced and have no customer service. This company was sent to us through Home Depot. We needed someone to come out and redo our shower, since another contractor did a horrible job and left us with leaks. It took about a month before they actually started the work, but we requested work right after Hurricane Harvey, so I'm pretty sure they were busy. They provided a nice selection of material (tile, etc.). The contractors who performed the work were very professional, courteous and accommodating. We told them we had limited time off from work and they got the work done while we were off. My shower looks fantastic and most important..no more leaks. I'm waiting on my warranty papers, which I was told would arrive in the mail in a couple of weeks. I'll probably use them again to remodel my other bathroom. read more

My wife and I are very pleased with the work Statewide Remodeling did at our home. Statewide screened in our back porch with quality material that will sustain winds of 140 mph, with a lifetime transferrable warranty should we ever sell our home. We are now able to sit in the back with our dogs and enjoy insect free relaxation. We did our floors just before our install so in combination with the Sun Screen, it looks awesome. The remodeling company was sent to me through Home Depot. The day before the schedule time, a woman called to cancel the appointment and reschedule. WOW! This seems familiar because my time is valuable, and I have to work to pay for the remodel project-right? So we reschedule, but I couldn't get off work early like I hoped, and he had to wait an extra hour for me to arrive. I show him the bathroom, explained my hopes for remodeling, and left him to take his measurements I should have watched him because he was in there 45-mins, and towards then end told me he had taken pictures, which he didn't bother to ask prior to doing this. Now I feel like my privacy has been violated. But prior to that discovery, he stayed more than 3-hrs, hitting 10pm, and I told him that at 10pm, he needs to be out of the house because I needed to go to bed. But before leaving he quoted me a price of nearly $18K, I couldn't believe it. All along the selecting process for this and for that, I kept asking to see the price of the stuff I was choosing, and he said there was no high-med-low prices. So how he came up with his bid/estimate, I simply can't say, but I know he couldn't remodel my small bathroom for that ridiculous price, which is more than half the price I paid for the whole house 23-yrs ago. read more

This is my second time working with the company and this time was nothing like the first. I am disappointed in the service I received. My project consisted of one double vanity sink along a granite countertop. Two fridays ago my project was scheduled to begin. I had to call them to confirm that someone was still coming because after scheduling the was no more communication from them. The contractors showed up around 0850. They were done by 1150. The told me that they were done and I would have to call the project manager in order to get the the countertop guy to come out. I was confused on why one part of the project would be scheduled and not the other. So the project manager did not respond to call or text so on Monday I called the company directly because he still wasn't answering. The got him to call me and he said that he couldn't get the guy to come out until the upcoming Friday. On Thursday he confirmed the countertop person had the materials and would be the on Friday. Friday comes and no one shows up so I call the manager and again he says the guy is coming and he will complete the job today. The guy shows up at 1550 takes measurements and says he will have to come back on Monday because he doesn't have the materials. I called the company again and requested to speak to someone in charge and they said they would have him call me, that never happen. Today is Monday I stayed home all morning waiting and no one showed. I will never do business with this company again. I have already paid for the project so I don't understand why I am getting the run around about services that I am entitled to. read more

Unfortunately, he passed away from cancer before we could even start the work on the beautiful design Statewide had prepared. From meeting the sweet lady at Home Depot in League City to Mike, the salesman who came to give us an estimate to Justin, who oversaw our project, we couldn't be more proud of our bathroom. We were treated professionally and informed of the project at all times. The friendly office staff called us everyday to check in with any problems, times, dates, and any needs we might have. Our project turned out beautiful. We love getting in the shower everyday and marveling over how great it turned out! From start to finish it took them 3 days to take our old bathtub out and put in a brand new shower! If you are looking for a contractor for your project, don't hesitate to call them.
