After a few months of using my new spectacles, I noticed that my eyesight was actually getting worse. So back to Dr. Brewer I went to look at my prescription. What she found instead was that my cataracts had grown, and it was time for surgery. She then referred me to Dr. Caleb Morris at Nevada Eye Consultants. Nevada Eye Consultants is quite an operation, full of patients, doctors, and support staff. I was efficiently shuttled from room-to-room including another eye exam, some follow-up, 1:1 time with Dr. Morris, and the insurance person. This experience kind of reminded me of taking my then step-daughter to the Orthodontist to see if braces were required. The visit being 1 part Doctor and an equal part being treatment and financing options. I thought Dr. Morris was great and as another review rightly stated: From consultation to surgery day and follow up- professional, clean, communicative. Note that Surgery is done next door at the Eye Surgery Center of Northern Nevada.

I was seen by Dr Westafer and he conducted a thorough eye exam and answered all my questions and concerns. His style is very direct but that's fine with me... not trying to be friends with my eye doctor. He referred me to an ophthalmology neurologist to support my specific issue and assuaged me that I really had nothing to be concerned about. I feel super confident in his exam and the diagnosis. I absolutely recommend this office and Dr Westafer to others. Such a great experience.

My first cataract surgery went so poorly that I waited 3 years before having my other eye done by Dr. W. Dr. Westafer is a very busy guy, but when he sees you, you have his complete attention. Dr. F was extremely concerned about my eyes. I started out with about 7 different eye drops for the pressure and the tear. We decided to try an in office laser procedure to hopefully make my eyes drain better. Sadly, it did not work. We then decided to fix my cataracts, and while he was doing that, he did another procedure to help my eyes drain. Had my eyes done in October, with my vision now almost 20/20 and the pressure in my eyes is normal. I cannot recommend this practice enough, Reno Eye Institute is amazing, the staff is wonderful, and the doctor, I could go on and on about him. He really cares about his patients. He made me feel like I was the most important patient at his practice. I would give him 10 stars if I could.

When my son had the 'incident' we were a little confused about what to do. it was quite serendipitous that we already had appointment with Dr. Hong for two days later. He was accidentally shot in the eye with the desiccated Orby, and was fortunate enough that somebody on site had a family member that worked in an optometrist office. We got in to see her, and was immediately referred to Dr. Hong. Fortunately, there was no waiting as we had an appointment with her the next day. The office is wonderful, it is pediatric so clearly serves all of the youngsters. The staff put you at ease immediately, and there is plenty for the young ones and littles to do. The assistant that called us back was just wonderful. My son was quite nervous and scared, at 15. He would never admit that, and she was just very gentle and calming. Dr. Hong herself is amazing! She was so very thorough, disseminated a lot of information that was easy to understand. Made sure that he understood what was going on and understood what he needed to do to care for his eye. She explained everything so well, and really put us both at ease. An eye I injury can be really scary, especially to somebody so young with a lot of years ahead. She sent us out with clear directions, he was really good and following them. They had us back for a follow up and everything was looking better. We have yet to see her one more time for a final follow up, and hopefully close this file. For something that started out so scary, Dr. Hong put it at ease, and turned it into a far better experience than it could have been.
