One of, if not the most important of all our senses, vision shouldn't be taken lightly and the team at Eye Care Associates don't either. They take eye care seriously and it shows. I've visited twice now, the first time for routine annual check and recently for an unexpected concern affecting my vision. Both visits I was treated with respect and care. All my questions were answered professionally. The facility has one of the largest selection of eyewear in Sparks/ Reno, so you are bound to find something you like. I didn't buy my new corrective glasses here because my insurance didn't provide much coverage, which made the cost prohibitive. By law, my corrective lens prescription must be provided at the end of my visit, so I got my new eye wear somewhere else. Would I recommend Eye Care Associates? Absolutely, I will be visiting them again this Fall for my annual vision check up. Downside: the appointment system is fully automated and it doesn't allow you to select the reason for the appointment. When I checked in, they assumed it was for corrective glasses. I had to explain it was to check my eye health showed them my primary care physician referral. This required some shuffling around but I got my eyes checked which was the reason the visit in the first place.

I have been a patient of The…read moreReno Eye Clinic since 2014, when I got Shingles in my left eye, and his office was the only one my husband could find open on a Saturday. I was in such pain, as anyone who has had Shingles knows; but everyone in the office treated me like family from the first appointment. Dr. Hsueh took my hand, and told me "I will never abandon you." So I have been going there since 2014, and continue to be impressed with how compassionate everyone is there. And his technician, Shirley, is the best! She performs all tests necessary with patience and intensity, skills not learned in schools. She is extremely knowledgeable in everything she does, and I am honored to know all the staff there. Sure, they are now in what was once an animal clinic. And it does take time and lots of money to change that sign (!) When I had my first appm't at that location, I can say I pre-judged the place. But when I went inside, I was blown away! It is bright and airy, with lots of modern display cases for eyeglasses. There's a beautiful marble counter that wraps around, but my favorites are the sliding barn doors on each examination room. The staff are still wearing masks, even though the mandate has been lifted. But I certainly respect that, as I would not like to hear of anyone there getting any kind of illness. Oh, and there's plenty of parking in the back, where the entrance is, and most of it is in the shade. Dr. Patrick Hsueh is the most professional, and the kindest, doctor I have had the pleasure of knowing. And once you meet him, and get to know him, you will see a compassionate, humble man, who I hope never retires! This is the first time I've ever written a review of any place; but I had to put in my two cents worth in this case.

She consistently told me that she would send a referral to another place that does surgery. The surgery place said they never received anything so I proceeded to ask Susie if she could send it again (assuming that there were some technical difficulties). She "sent it" again and once again the other place said nothing was sent. I had to keep asking her to actually send it until eventually the lady changed her story and said actually she can't send a referral because they need need to have a record of me coming into their office for a certain period of time. This was a near month long process and she completely wasted my time, lied to me TWICE and showed how little she cares about her patients.
