He was in a big hurry as always and did not see the PCO which is a film commonly grows on new lenses after cataract removal. He told me to come back in 6 mo. The eye glasses were no help that he prescribed. I went to an optometrist and he told me that I had PCO on lense and needed to have it zapped with a Zag laser. I went to Dr. Manning and he zapped the PCO and then my vision was fine in my left eye. A month later, I had my rt eye zapped. Dr Gammet should have found the PCO. It is common to get it even two years later.

His style is very direct but that's fine with me... not trying to be friends with my eye doctor. He referred me to an ophthalmology neurologist to support my specific issue and assuaged me that I really had nothing to be concerned about. I feel super confident in his exam and the diagnosis. I absolutely recommend this office and Dr Westafer to others. Such a great experience.

My first cataract surgery went so poorly that I waited 3 years before having my other eye done by Dr. W. Dr. Westafer is a very busy guy, but when he sees you, you have his complete attention. He explains everything and answers your questions fully. His office and surgical facility are state of the art as far as I can see. Lots of fancy equipment. Today's visit took over 2 1/2 hours, and we were told that appointments here typically take 2 1/2 to 3 hours. If that is the standard, patients should be informed when they schedule so they can plan their day accordingly. Spending several hours in the office for a routine injection appointment is excessive. The waiting room felt as crowded and slow-moving as the California DMV. Better scheduling and communication about expected wait times would make a significant difference to the overall patient experience.
