I am genuinely surprised to read any negative reviews about this place. When I say this place has…read morechanged my life, that might be an understatement and before you think I am being over the top - let me explain. The kids club is elite, truly top notch. My son is 4 and is on the spectrum- finding a place he is comfortable at and well cared for has not been easy. We are always greeted by every single person who works there and the staff at the kids club is so incredibly welcoming and you can tell they really care about the kids. My son asks to go to the gym every single day - he has made friends, he is talking more, he is becoming much more independent and it is because of Villa Sports. Stacey has went out of her way to give me updates on my son and I feel like this place is so lucky to have her, and so is every kid that goes here. If I could list every kids club staff member I would because I truly love all of them. If you have kids, this place is for you! No question about it. On top of that, this place is clean, has so many machine opens, tons of free weights, a great pool and just wow - I will never go anywhere else and honestly neither should you! Yes this is a real review, no I wasn't paid to write it I just TRULY hope every parent who needs this gyms find this gym.

I was a little intimidated to be working with him initially. I've only had female personal trainers in the past, and I came into that session during a phase of life where I felt disconnected from my body. I felt very vulnerable and exposed to be reaching out for help to a really strong gym guy. During that session, Matt made me feel so comfortable. He was kind and encouraging. We talked about all of my postpartum challenges and he took notes on what mattered most to me and what I wanted from our time together. I really appreciated how he didn't assume what I wanted or needed just from looking at me. I left that session feeling empowered, hopeful, and safe in this space. (Not to mention he fixed my squat in that first session!) Over the last few months, with Matt's programming, I have gained a few pounds of muscle and lost 6% of my body fat. He writes my programs based on my schedule and what I enjoy doing. He's adapted my workouts to support my pelvic floor health which was a very big postpartum concern for me. Any fear I had of bringing up my pelvic floor to a male trainer were squashed by Matt's caring/person-first approach to training. If you are feeling vulnerable, exposed or intimidated, but ready to get some professional support in the gym, I cannot recommend Matt more highly. He's the trainer for you! In addition to my work with Matt, I began taking Reformer Pilates classes once a week with Kate. It is the most fun I've ever had while working that hard! The Reformer machine is such a unique piece of equipment and keeps my brain really interested and engaged in what we are doing. The glide of the carriage and buoyancy of the springs feel so unique to other types of equipment. It's SO fun- horizontal jumping anyone?! But also, so challenging! Luckily for me, Kate is an incredible instructor! Her cues and prompts are spot on and always help me correct my form and activate the right muscle group. She moves throughout the room and provides individualized encouragement and coaching to each of us. Kate also facilitates an awesome vibe in the class! She is fun and friendly and has created a space that feels welcoming and easy to enter into, even as a total beginner. I'm extremely thankful for the team at Villa Sport who have made me feel like I belong while also achieving my goals. 10/10 recommend.

This is my least favorite LA Fitness in the Portland area. Typically I work out in the Pearl, but the pool was closed so I drove out to Beaverton. Dealing with an injury, I'm walking with a cane and was immediately disappointed that the front door did not have an automatic handicap button. Upon entering, no one greeted me, they were too busy chatting with themselves. While the pool has stairs in addition to ladders, the steps are not standard height. A few of them are about 1.5 x the height making it extremely challenging for those with mobility issues. Not only are they too high, they are not consistent. Very dangerous! Yes, they have a chair lift for those in a wheelchair, but for others who are disabled and have difficulty going up and down stairs, this pool should have lower steps the way the Pearl and the NE Weidler LA Fitness are designed. I'm surprised this passed code. Bathrooms were not clean. I had to find paper towels to clear out the mass of hair from the drain before showering. Parking lot is super crowded, hard to find a spot close to door, and being handicapped, not enough handicapped spots so all were taken. Tried out this location because I needed to get my workout in, but when the Pearl is closed, I'll drive out to Tualatin for a better experience.

I jumped out of the water and complained at the front desk. They said it's safe, the pool water is salt water therefore no need to worry. WTF? Is that really true?

After touring the gyms I came away with the impression that Stafford was by far the best gym in the area. The staff is superb and the gym and equipment are clean. None of that terrible "gym" smell that you often get at the gyms as they age. They also do an excellent job at making sure there aren't so many members in the gym that there are long wait times to use the equipment.

"A place where everybody knows your name... and you're always glad you came." [1]…read more My review is based on my membership of one year where I've consistently visited 4x/week. Beginning during the end stages of COVID restrictions, it was so nice to experience outdoor swimming, the hot tub, and social time with other members. Swimming is my main experience at the club so here is what you should know: * Six lane outdoor salt water pool that is open year round (I've done laps in the snow, sleet, and hail). * You can reserve four of the six lanes and it is very competitive to get times, especially during the warm weather months when you are competing for space with the swim team, swim lessons, and aqua aerobics classes. * The other two lanes are left open for first come first serve usage and swimmers are encouraged to share. * The outdoor hot tub is for 14+ over. I have only taken one yoga class at the club and all classes have you reserve your spot. If you cancel less than 12 hours in advance or are a no show, you are charged a $10 fee. Personally, I don't mind since the reservation system makes me accountable and if I don't have a reservation, I'm less likely to go workout. The club is a nice mix of serious athletes (I'm surrounded by masters swimmers and triathletes), retirees, and families. Prior to my membership, my teenage son was a member for two years and loved the weight room, sauna, and steam room. The club as been open for awhile and is definitely showing its age and is need of some maintenance upgrades in the pool area. That being said, I have been very happy with my membership here and the personal feel, literally being greet by name when entering and exiting, and the wonderful customer service. This club is very different from the large national chains, so to each their own. Definitely recommend a trial membership at this club as well as others in the area to see which is the best fit for you. [1] I am currently re-watching this classic sitcom and while not aging well in the post Me Too era, still good for a lot of laughs.

I got a personal trainer. With two little ones, I decided it's time I get healthier. But, what do I know about fitness?! From day 1 - I was put at ease by Nick. He met with me, talked to me about my goals and discussed what sort of options were available to me. He never once made me feel like it was a hard sell - more, he was here to answer my questions and encourage me. Most importantly, he assured me that this wasn't going to be something that was going to drive me away. The team was going to work with me at my pace. I decided I'd go three mornings a week - totally crazy, right?! Now, I work with Vince three early mornings a week. Vince is awesome! He's fun to work with, super knowledgeable - always taking the time to explain things to me. And, most importantly, he's encouraging. I'm nowhere NEAR as advanced as some of the people I see, but Vince makes me feel like I have a place there. Just a few months ago, I would have NEVER thought you'd EVER find me in a gym. Now, I look forward to going!

I deserve a vacation and in October I will be taking a NONSTOP flight to JFK. I figured that if I am 5 months out from this excursion, I deserve to look and feel better when I do it. Tonight after work I hit the gym and did some cardio and a little chest work. It was surprising how my body reacted...it wants to be challenged...ironic that I just bought a TV, but now I can balance it out. There has been some changes to the gym. It looks like there was some rearranging of the machines and some of the elliptical machines had been upgraded. Some things haven't changed though. Like people not understanding how to control their weights. There was also a machine that was squeaking...I think it was a recumbent bike...it seriously needs some WD40. I couldn't be the only one annoyed by it...could I? Oh well, I am looking forward to my trip and I am planning on looking a lot better come October...
