I joined this gym about a year and a half ago, and it has quickly become my favorite community. This is where I look forward to coming everyday - the coaches and the members are so welcoming and lovely. I went from someone who just casually weight lifted for CrossFit, to competing in a national weightlifting competition!

Me and my youngest...

Such a special place! Top tier coaches and facility that managers to seamlessly tether competitive athletes, athletes, and those looking to learn while effecting change in their lifestyle. All ages and levels of skill are represented, welcomed, encouraged, and better for their time spent together. Love love love that I share this with my family.

My husband and I moved to area in April and began looking for personal trainers. ILF caught our eye…read more(as did couple other gyms), but after meeting with co-owners Shawn & Tiffany we knew this is where we should be. I work out 2x a week with Tiffany. I am 74 and was suffering stiffness & residual ache & pain from a reverse shoulder replacement a little over a year ago. I am amazed at how much I have increased my strength, flexibility, mobility and energy in just 4 short months. Tiffany helps me target areas that need more work while developing a well-rounded program. She is the BEST personal trainer I've ever worked with. Tiffany clearly is very knowledgable about the body and I feel very safe under her guidance. I also appreciate Shawn's expertise and focus on Mobility, Facia, Breath & Energy work. He has helped me to quickly release a badly pinched nerve and ongoing facia release work on upper body to reduce tightness & achy shoulders.

I can't say enough amazing things about this gym. I've been going here consistently for over 3…read moreyears. I'm 55 years old and I feel like I'm 30. Access to the sauna alone is worth the membership. They also have a free weight area and a basic universal gym. The bad: it's not very clean. I go to the same sauna each time because of the class I take and I noticed that the glass door was dirty with fingerprints all around the handle and when I came back the next night it was exactly the same, which means they are not cleaning the space every night. I don't feel confident that the equipment is being cleaned, so recommend that you clean the equipment you want to use before you use it, not just after. You have to buy their yoga mat and towel as part of your membership and I already had two at home, so that didn't make me happy but it is what it is. Personally, going every day is causing dermatitis flare-ups, which I'm hoping will acclimate over time and settle down, but overall the benefits outweigh the deficits. I joined for treating OA hip and back pain and to regain mobility and it works VERY well.

I had a terrible experience at this HOTWORX location. I signed up expecting a motivating workout…read moreenvironment, but it was the complete opposite. First, I was charged over $250 for what was supposed to be a "trial month," which felt extremely misleading. I canceled immediately after realizing how disappointing the experience was. The facility itself felt unsanitary and very poorly maintained. On top of that, the owner came across as extremely judgmental and unprofessional, which made the whole experience even worse. Also, calling this place a "gym" feels misleading. It's basically small sauna boxes where you try to exercise in extreme heat. Instead of feeling like a good workout, it felt uncomfortable and difficult to even breathe while trying to move. It's not motivating at all. The heat is so intense that it even fries your hair if you're not careful. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a real gym or a positive fitness environment.

In case you don't want to read the long version, here is the gist:…read moreThis place is the best place I have ever worked out. The staff is friendly and helpful to an unusual degree. The instructors are fun and patient with newcomers. The class content is unusually FUN. I have recommended this place to ALL OF MY FRIENDS. It's so worth the time, money, and travel time. It is one of a kind!! --------------------------------------- For those who might like some details, here they are in more words than necessary. Sorry but I am incurably long-winded. I have used many Groupons trying to find somewhere fun to dance and work out and EVERY other time, the staff and clientele were either intimidating. I would either get a closed clique kind of vibe or in one case, distinct feelings of unwelcome because I didn't know their routines, habits, or I unknowingly stood in someone else's usual spot. Diva Den? Oh my freaking god!! I don't think I was made to feel this welcome since my last birthday party! For friggin' serious - I called to figure out how to activate my account and the woman who helped me, Valerie, could not have been more patient, helpful, and pleasant. A few times I went, I wasn't sure which room my class was to be in and every time, the front desk staff on duty gladly showed me to the room the class was in without even a flicker that implied I was an inconvenience, which would have been fairly reasonable given that I was asking them to walk me to class like they were my mother on the first day of kindergarten. The classes?? EVERY instructor I've taken a class from has been kind and patient and helpful AND more importantly, the classes are challenging but ABSOLUTELY SO MUCH FUN. Hashim, the instructor of a class that starts at 5:30am gave me individual help and encouragement despite the early hour and my abysmal ability to keep up with the regulars (who were also willing to help me get into their routines). Rosella is the instructor for "It's a Groove Thang!" and she makes the class SO fun - she's enthusiastic and energetic and her dance moves are less mind-boggling and complicated and more fun than other dance workout classes I've taken. By that, I mean, she gives you choreography that is delightful even if you are not as...coordinated as others (take it from me, as my friends always refer to me "dancing" in quotes). "It's a Groove Thang!" is easily my favorite dance workout class I have EVER taken and I have tried MANY. I took "Center of Gravity" with Jody and since Valerie was at the front desk that day, she kindly tipped Jody off that I was new (Valerie is a GD ANGEL). Jody helped me through all of the movements. I was SO scared before signing up for this class because it involves fabric slings hanging from the ceiling and I worried I'd end up tangling myself up and flopping around helplessly like a flying goober while the rest of the class looked on in perplexity and disdain. I couldn't have been more wrong. Jody helped me with everything before I even had to ask and the others in the class seemed to want me to succeed as much as I wanted to! And the class was DELIGHTFUL. I felt incredible afterward. I don't have a single negative word to say about this place. This review may sound like overenthusiastic hyperbole, but I don't usually gush. I just genuinely believe that this place is a wonderful, WONDERFUL place to go, workout, chat with inexplicably helpful and kind people. It is SO worth your time, money, and even commute! I have recommended it to all of my friends because it is a BLAST and a half and I have thoroughly enjoyed every single visit from beginning to end! It doesn't really have to be said, but to be clear aka redundant: HIGHLY. HIIIIIIIGHLY. RECOMMEND!!

I deserve a vacation and in October I will be taking a NONSTOP flight to JFK. I will have a week in the best city in the country...I am planning on visiting all 5 boroughs (Beastie Boy style) and hitting up the best eats à la the food network. I figured that if I am 5 months out from this excursion, I deserve to look and feel better when I do it. Tonight after work I hit the gym and did some cardio and a little chest work. It was surprising how my body reacted...it wants to be challenged...ironic that I just bought a TV, but now I can balance it out. There has been some changes to the gym. It looks like there was some rearranging of the machines and some of the elliptical machines had been upgraded. Some things haven't changed though. Like people not understanding how to control their weights. There was also a machine that was squeaking...I think it was a recumbent bike...it seriously needs some WD40. I couldn't be the only one annoyed by it...could I? Oh well, I am looking forward to my trip and I am planning on looking a lot better come October...
