I LOVE this place. It is a challenging environment where the expert trainers just take care of you from the beginner to advanced skill level. I have been part of the House family for a while now and despite the shut down, this House family has figured out how to continue to navigate through the times, while maintaining the integrity and Heart of the Gym Community

Fantastic gym and great trainers. Sometimes the classes get pretty full, but you expect that with their compelling rates.

I took bouldering classes in college but have been out of practice and was looking to get back into…read moreit again and was happy I found The Circuit, a bouldering-only gym (so no rock climbing/harnesses here). Fairly simple check-in process, name for returners and a mandatory signed waiver for new visitors. A day pass is $17 ($15 if you're a student) while shoe rentals are $4. You can definitely wear your own shoes if you want, though rental shoe definitely helps. Gym is quite spacious, with lots of cubbies along the wall to store your personal belongings. There are 2 gender neutral shower rooms and regular men and women restrooms in the back. Highly recommend checking their website and instagram for special events, schedules, and deals such as free open gym nights for college and high school students and etc. Recently they've been doing some cool Christmas giveaways like free day/punch passes, 10% off gym gear/apparel. They also have $5 Fridays once a month and Beginner Nights (first timers only) every Wednesday after 4pm, with 50% off your day pass. Very chill and friendly staff. I've been coming in to redeem their free Christmas day/punch passes and realized with my most recent visit that none of them were saved onto my account, and the staff was very quick to fix the problem for me. Be mindful that you are sharing the space with children since they do host birthday parties and climbing camps at times. They do have a children's climbing area in the back with a slide, but otherwise, it's pretty much a free for all. You don't need to be an avid boulderer to come, I've taken a couple of friends here (of all skill levels) and they've been loving it. We recently learned that they also host fitness and yoga classes, which comes free with your day pass. Will definitely come back to try out those classes next time I visit!

I appreciate that you have to pre-book your general session so there is not overcrowding in the kids area. The party room is spacious enough and it was nice to be able to bring your own food in instead of having to order from the establishment itself. The staff is very welcoming, party hosts are always energetic and fun, and the kids burn off energy while being in a safe environment. Make sure to watch the safety video (kids and adults) prior to arriving. I would highly suggest bringing a water bottle as well.

We recently joined Stafford Hills Club after touring four other gyms including the new Lake Oswego…read moreaquatic center which did not impress me but it was nice. After touring the gyms I came away with the impression that Stafford was by far the best gym in the area. The staff is superb and the gym and equipment are clean. None of that terrible "gym" smell that you often get at the gyms as they age. They also do an excellent job at making sure there aren't so many members in the gym that there are long wait times to use the equipment.

"A place where everybody knows your name... and you're always glad you came." [1]…read more My review is based on my membership of one year where I've consistently visited 4x/week. Beginning during the end stages of COVID restrictions, it was so nice to experience outdoor swimming, the hot tub, and social time with other members. Swimming is my main experience at the club so here is what you should know: * Six lane outdoor salt water pool that is open year round (I've done laps in the snow, sleet, and hail). * You can reserve four of the six lanes and it is very competitive to get times, especially during the warm weather months when you are competing for space with the swim team, swim lessons, and aqua aerobics classes. * The other two lanes are left open for first come first serve usage and swimmers are encouraged to share. * The outdoor hot tub is for 14+ over. I have only taken one yoga class at the club and all classes have you reserve your spot. If you cancel less than 12 hours in advance or are a no show, you are charged a $10 fee. Personally, I don't mind since the reservation system makes me accountable and if I don't have a reservation, I'm less likely to go workout. The club is a nice mix of serious athletes (I'm surrounded by masters swimmers and triathletes), retirees, and families. Prior to my membership, my teenage son was a member for two years and loved the weight room, sauna, and steam room. The club as been open for awhile and is definitely showing its age and is need of some maintenance upgrades in the pool area. That being said, I have been very happy with my membership here and the personal feel, literally being greet by name when entering and exiting, and the wonderful customer service. This club is very different from the large national chains, so to each their own. Definitely recommend a trial membership at this club as well as others in the area to see which is the best fit for you. [1] I am currently re-watching this classic sitcom and while not aging well in the post Me Too era, still good for a lot of laughs.

I've tried all sorts of group fitness classes, individual workout plans, etc. and, while fun, I struggled to be consistent and didn't feel like I was improving. Getting the courage to try out Tigard CrossFit was one of my best decisions. I was hesitant, as I have never tried CrossFit, but I quickly realized that the gym was welcoming to people of all abilities. The coaching staff is extremely knowledgeable and have a tremendous amount of options for those of us who need to scale, as we learn and ramp up. Most of all, I've noticed the coaching staff care deeply about the progression of each athlete. They spend time drilling movements and observe every class member to ensure they are lifting with proper technique. They walk around the class during the WOD - providing feedback at all times on technique, and to provide motivation when we need it. They will push you, but they will also encourage listening to your body and scale if needed. The gym, coaching staff, and fellow athletes are incredible, and have given me the motivation to get into the best shape of my life. I highly recommend CrossFit Tigard!

I deserve a vacation and in October I will be taking a NONSTOP flight to JFK. I will have a week in the best city in the country...I am planning on visiting all 5 boroughs (Beastie Boy style) and hitting up the best eats à la the food network. I figured that if I am 5 months out from this excursion, I deserve to look and feel better when I do it. Tonight after work I hit the gym and did some cardio and a little chest work. It was surprising how my body reacted...it wants to be challenged...ironic that I just bought a TV, but now I can balance it out. There has been some changes to the gym. It looks like there was some rearranging of the machines and some of the elliptical machines had been upgraded. Some things haven't changed though. Like people not understanding how to control their weights. There was also a machine that was squeaking...I think it was a recumbent bike...it seriously needs some WD40. I couldn't be the only one annoyed by it...could I? Oh well, I am looking forward to my trip and I am planning on looking a lot better come October...

I had a terrible experience at this HOTWORX location. I signed up expecting a motivating workout…read moreenvironment, but it was the complete opposite. First, I was charged over $250 for what was supposed to be a "trial month," which felt extremely misleading. I canceled immediately after realizing how disappointing the experience was. The facility itself felt unsanitary and very poorly maintained. On top of that, the owner came across as extremely judgmental and unprofessional, which made the whole experience even worse. Also, calling this place a "gym" feels misleading. It's basically small sauna boxes where you try to exercise in extreme heat. Instead of feeling like a good workout, it felt uncomfortable and difficult to even breathe while trying to move. It's not motivating at all. The heat is so intense that it even fries your hair if you're not careful. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a real gym or a positive fitness environment.

Member since August 1, 2024…read more Pros: Reasonable price for 24/7 access. Decent variety of classes. Two restrooms with showers available. Cons: The studio and individual pods were frequently unclean, with hair and dust visible. The shower was more often dirty than clean. Most importantly, two critical contract terms were never disclosed at sign-up. First, you cannot cancel before completing five months, yet staff told me cancellation was possible at any time. Second, after one year and nine months of membership, when I submitted a cancellation request with a doctor's recommendation, I was informed that two additional months of payment are required regardless of whether you continue attending. Regarding the workout system itself: the videos offer three difficulty levels and often include form explanations, which is a plus. However, in roughly half the cases the instructor's verbal cues contradict what they are actually doing on screen. For example, instructions about parallel hips, spinal alignment, or proper squat depth are frequently ignored by the demonstrators themselves. Someone following visually without a background in yoga or fitness training would easily pick up incorrect form without realizing it. Poor alignment can ultimately cause more harm than the exercise does good.

In case you don't want to read the long version, here is the gist:…read moreThis place is the best place I have ever worked out. The staff is friendly and helpful to an unusual degree. The instructors are fun and patient with newcomers. The class content is unusually FUN. I have recommended this place to ALL OF MY FRIENDS. It's so worth the time, money, and travel time. It is one of a kind!! --------------------------------------- For those who might like some details, here they are in more words than necessary. Sorry but I am incurably long-winded. I have used many Groupons trying to find somewhere fun to dance and work out and EVERY other time, the staff and clientele were either intimidating. I would either get a closed clique kind of vibe or in one case, distinct feelings of unwelcome because I didn't know their routines, habits, or I unknowingly stood in someone else's usual spot. Diva Den? Oh my freaking god!! I don't think I was made to feel this welcome since my last birthday party! For friggin' serious - I called to figure out how to activate my account and the woman who helped me, Valerie, could not have been more patient, helpful, and pleasant. A few times I went, I wasn't sure which room my class was to be in and every time, the front desk staff on duty gladly showed me to the room the class was in without even a flicker that implied I was an inconvenience, which would have been fairly reasonable given that I was asking them to walk me to class like they were my mother on the first day of kindergarten. The classes?? EVERY instructor I've taken a class from has been kind and patient and helpful AND more importantly, the classes are challenging but ABSOLUTELY SO MUCH FUN. Hashim, the instructor of a class that starts at 5:30am gave me individual help and encouragement despite the early hour and my abysmal ability to keep up with the regulars (who were also willing to help me get into their routines). Rosella is the instructor for "It's a Groove Thang!" and she makes the class SO fun - she's enthusiastic and energetic and her dance moves are less mind-boggling and complicated and more fun than other dance workout classes I've taken. By that, I mean, she gives you choreography that is delightful even if you are not as...coordinated as others (take it from me, as my friends always refer to me "dancing" in quotes). "It's a Groove Thang!" is easily my favorite dance workout class I have EVER taken and I have tried MANY. I took "Center of Gravity" with Jody and since Valerie was at the front desk that day, she kindly tipped Jody off that I was new (Valerie is a GD ANGEL). Jody helped me through all of the movements. I was SO scared before signing up for this class because it involves fabric slings hanging from the ceiling and I worried I'd end up tangling myself up and flopping around helplessly like a flying goober while the rest of the class looked on in perplexity and disdain. I couldn't have been more wrong. Jody helped me with everything before I even had to ask and the others in the class seemed to want me to succeed as much as I wanted to! And the class was DELIGHTFUL. I felt incredible afterward. I don't have a single negative word to say about this place. This review may sound like overenthusiastic hyperbole, but I don't usually gush. I just genuinely believe that this place is a wonderful, WONDERFUL place to go, workout, chat with inexplicably helpful and kind people. It is SO worth your time, money, and even commute! I have recommended it to all of my friends because it is a BLAST and a half and I have thoroughly enjoyed every single visit from beginning to end! It doesn't really have to be said, but to be clear aka redundant: HIGHLY. HIIIIIIIGHLY. RECOMMEND!!
