Pediatrician: Dr Lech is fairly new but she's a wonderful doctor. If you've ever had Dr Bannan they are very comparable, very thorough. Dr Lech did replace Dr Bannan. OB: Dr Sosa, works in the building in the back saw her with both my pregnancies. Medical Assistants aren't all that great. Some who have been working there for a long time think they run the place. Some obviously need work with their people skills/bed side manners. So minus one star for that. Always make sure you arrive no less than 15mins to your scheduled appointment. The receptionist line to sign in can get a little long especially when they are slammed. Never arrive late because they will not see you and you will have to reschedule.

Very disappointing experience with the communication and check-in process…read more Today, September 25, I had an 8:30 a.m. chiropractic appointment with Dr. Martin at Seaside Clinic Family Health Center. I arrived around 7:20 a.m. and was approached by the security guard. He asked me if i have an appointment i said yes, with the chiropractic. He told me that the front desk staff were in a meeting and said he would let them Dr.Martin know that I had arrived. I trusted that my arrival had been communicated. I went inside and waited I was the only person inside. Around 8:45 a.m., more patients started arriving, and I asked the security guard if dr.Martin was there because I had already been waiting for about 25 minutes. He said he would let the dr.Martin know that I was there. At that point, I realized that apparently the security guard never informed dr.Martin I was there. When the front desk staff returned, all the patients start to check in. I checked in around 8:50 a.m. and again asked if the chiropractor was there. I was told they would check because other patients were also asking??? Eventually, I was told that the chiropractor was there. However, patients who arrived after me were seen before me, and I asked then how many more patients are before myself, the front lady stuff say there were still two patients ahead of me who had arrived after I did. So there is 4 people scheduled at the same time or the chriropractor had to see 3 patients in less thn 10minutes?? I had been waiting there since 7:20 a.m. and was the only patient inside when I first arrived. What makes this especially frustrating is that I had another medical appointment scheduled that I had to cancel because I was waiting for this appointment. I understand that medical offices can get busy and that delays happen, but the lack of communication was the biggest problem. I was told my arrival would be communicated, but it wasn't, and I had to repeatedly ask what was happening. I also find it frustrating that patients are expected to be on time and may have their appointments canceled or rescheduled if they are even a ONE minutes late, while patients can be left waiting 30 minutes or more without clear communication. Patients deserve the same consideration and respect for their time. I hope the clinic can improve communication between security, the front desk, and providers so situations like this don't happen to other patients.

Soon after our arrival in town my boyfriend was having excruciating jaw pain. It must've been bad for him to want to see a doctor so I Yelped an urgent care. This place was open, close by and most important had good reviews. It was closing in 30 minutes tho, but if we didn't go, bf would be miserable all weekend to see these races. We walked in, place was empty lucky for us, no appointment. Couple of waivers filled out, insurance given and Doctor took us in. Dr. Gilliam is by far the kind of doctor I wish I had as my PCP. He's funny, caring, gentle and educational. After asking my bf some questions and a little exam, it was concluded he had a little infection that needed antibiotics. Dr. Gilliam took care of ALL of it, sent the scripts to Safeway right next door (we needed to get snacks anyway) filled out the claim and sent it to insurance. I mentioned I was a medical coder. He does all of his own coding using software. But if Dr. Gilliam ever wants to hire a certified outpatient coder/biller with Urgent Care experience, we could always use an excuse to relocate to Monterey (hint hint) We were treated like humans, even laughed a little bit at some funny stories. Warm, kind Doctor. I hope we'd never have to be patients again but if we're in Monterey and need an Urgent Care, we're going here. He's the way all Doctors should be.
