When I first started working with them, they were providing about 40 hours a week of companion type care for my dad and then transitioned into 24 hour a day care for the last few months. I know that Julie must be a good manager because every caregiver she sent to our home was amazing. And I know it takes a good person at the top to have so many good employees. Julie was constantly involved and checking in as well. She made me feel like I was her only client when I know that is the furthest from the truth. In addition to providing so much caregiver support, Julie was also a wealth of knowledge and connections, constantly making insightful suggestions. She was someone to call when my dad had to go to the hospital, and she was instrumental in connecting me with other resources as needs arose. I don't know how I would have gotten through the last 2 years without the team at Halo - they were one bright spot in a really difficult time. We have had VNA and Choice Home Health in the past, and we were VERY DISSATISFIED with both (especially VNA). Good Life was just the opposite; they began care the same day my Mother's doctor sent the referral. She had the SAME therapist throughout her recovery, and she went from being completely wheelchair bound to being able to transfer on her own and even take a couple of steps (with standby assistance). This is an incredible improvement that could not be achieved through the other agencies who had provided services in the past! I would recommend Good Life Home Care to anyone who cares for, and loves and elderly, homebound person.

The hospital actually referred us. He arrived home Friday afternoon and Saturday morning our nurse, Amy, telephoned and scheduled a morning visit. Amy arrived on time, conducted a thorough interview with my husband, assessed his health/vitals and monitored his incision. The following Monday our Physical Therapist, Dominic, called to schedule his first visit with us. He arrived on time, also conducted a thorough verbal interview, checked my husbands wound and started some gentle physical therapy. From there Dominic scheduled two visits per week, always arrived on time, conducted a complete assessment of my husband and gradually increased physical therapy. Dominic always left my husband with "homework" so to speak, gentle exercises for him to do daily between visits to increase strength and stamina. Within three weeks my husband was walking without a walker or cane, was stable on his legs and could walk around the block. Dominic made his final visit this morning as my husband was released to outpatient physical therapy and was also released to drive. We were both very impressed with Amy and especially Dominic. He is very easy to talk to, very forthcoming with information and expectations, and answered all our questions thoroughly. We both feel very informed and ready for the next steps in recovery. I highly recommend Choice Home Health Care for your in home therapy needs and I highly recommend Dominic for home physical therapy treatments. We also had problems with theft my father's bank account by one of their caregivers. We have had so many missed shifts with no warning. Nothing seems to happen to the caregivers who miss shifts and don't show up. They also do not have any kind of plan to fill-in for people who don't show up on time or who don't show up at all. There is no back up whatsoever. I have asked about this over and over again. They don't keep a floater available for when people call in sick with no notice. They just say that that would be too expensive. They can't do it. I have to recommend that nobody go here. It's been really bad. The only reason we are still there is because one of the caregivers is nice and my dad really likes her. I have been trying to talk him into switching to another agency for Months now. This morning, once again, the Caregiver didn't show up and there was no notification ahead of time. one more shift where we have to find someone else to cover with no warning. I'm putting this review because I hope it keeps people away from their business or maybe gets them to pay attention to the fact that their service is so incredibly inconsistent.

Before my discharge, my Dr.'s assistant asked if I want a nurse to come check on me at my home? Medicare pays for 8 weeks of visits. A woman from this shady company got my personal info. from UCSF. Came to my home just 36 hrs. after I was discharged. She set up 4 appts. the following week without my permission! And again the following week! This Co. is desperate for clients/money. None of their employees arrived with name tags, medical shirts or business cards! The visit with their so called "RN" named Bill, didn't have a female assistant to examine/evaluate me (single woman). During the visit, he insisted on calling my surgeon's office for an authorization. He lied about speaking to my surgeon who wasn't in his office! This Co. never provided a plan of services or any documentation. Only a thin booklet. In this, it explains they will take over managing patient appts. & medications! They come in & take photos of whatever they want. My surgeon knows nothing about these crooks. Wall Street Journal has published an article about the billions of dollars this Co. is stealing from Medicare. "Patients Beware & don't let them into your homes!"
