Personally have been coming to this clinic since the 90s, which tells you how old this clinic is…read more It's a learning clinic so they do have MA's who come & go as well as other doctors who come in to observe or learn from their doctors. Pediatrician: Dr Lech is fairly new but she's a wonderful doctor. If you've ever had Dr Bannan they are very comparable, very thorough. Dr Lech did replace Dr Bannan. OB: Dr Sosa, works in the building in the back saw her with both my pregnancies. Medical Assistants aren't all that great. Some who have been working there for a long time think they run the place. Some obviously need work with their people skills/bed side manners. So minus one star for that. Always make sure you arrive no less than 15mins to your scheduled appointment. The receptionist line to sign in can get a little long especially when they are slammed. Never arrive late because they will not see you and you will have to reschedule.

My original PCP was Dr. Jalia Tucker at the Marina Health Clinic. Dr. Tucker is amazing and sent me…read moreto do x-rays on my knees which was hurting really bad. The x-rays show that my knees (especially my left) has severe tri-compartmental degeneration due to a long 26 year history of gout/arthritis. My knees would lock up when I walk and hurt very much after I try to bend it. I also have a weird contraction of my pinky, ring, and middle finger on the left hand which stays in the bent position and wont open, not including swan neck deformity on both my index fingers and a lot of mobility loss. I've seen 2 hand specialists, 2 orthopedic surgeons, rheumatologist, neurologist and had many blood test, several MRI's, X-rays, and EMG. No one has a clue to what is wrong. I qualify for state disability, so Dr. Tucker set me up. I was able to get on disability, and take LOA at my work to work on myself and try to get better. Unfortunately, she is moving away and so I was scheduled to established care with Dr. Amir Helali at Seaside Family Health Center. I came in today for my appointment to establish care and to ask him to extend my disability because it is expiring next Thursday the 15th. He seemed nice at first when greeting me, then started asking if I have depression, suicidal thoughts and want to see a therapist. I told him that I have been in pain for a long time, and the frustrating part was that no one has any idea what it is and so I've been stressed and a little bit depressed of not being able to get better and get back to my normal life. He started talking negatively about my weight/diet and refused to extend my disability. I understand that a doctor can refuse to extend my disability if he deems that I don't fit the criteria, but my medical history with all the specialists from Montage Health including all of the x-rays, tests, and notes are all on file (all recent within the last few months) and he is able access it and see how severe my condition is. He tried to argue with me about not taking his advice to go see a therapist, and refused to help me while swiftly walking out the room. His nurse comes back in and gives me my doctor's visit summary showing that I will be seeing another doctor on Oct. 28th instead. Not only did he not have a single ounce of compassion in his bones to ask about any of my major health problems, but he pawned me off to another doctor and refused to help me. This is by far the absolute worst doctor I have ever experienced in my entire life. I believe that all doctors live by a code of helping, caring, and understanding for a patient, but today, I met a doctor that to me, does not hold up to any of those values! Dr. Amir Helali deserves no stars on any reviews!!

I wonder what the metrics are on how many lives he has literally saved with his treatment as an addiction specialist; I certainly count as one. I have been going to him for four years now and I love this doctor to the max. Thank you, Dr. Goldman!

I was 'seen' by Dr. Goldman in the Clinical Decision Unit of CHOMP's main hospital on Holman…read moreHighway 2+ months ago. Let's begin with his treatment. He spent 15 seconds with me, was dismissive, rude, condescending and a general 'doddering' old fool. I have since read his notes and his in-person 'visit' behavior was extended to his notes. He did not review recent blood work, thought that I was walking around with my IV because the treatment was helping - NO, I was walking because the beds are insufferable for anyone with a back problem and they had to move me from room to room, and pretty much indicated that I had no idea what treatment I was receiving. The notes 'generated' by Dr. Goldman appear to have been derived from the mind of an old man who has lost his faculties. I need to receive another treatment and have asked CHOMP/Montage if he is scheduled for the date of my planned visit. If so, I will reschedule with my wonderful doctor, who works in the ER. Then, let's discuss his 'office'. I keep receiving notices from my SECONDARY insurer indicating that they will NOT pay this claim as it has been denied by Medicare. I have almost an inch of paperwork on this so-called 'visit' by Dr. Goldman. I have called CHOMP, Medicare, and my secondary insurer and among the three of us, we have been given at least 8 phone numbers for his so-called 'billing' department. In total, I have expended at least 8 hours of effort on trying to get this bloody idiot paid. A COMPLETE waste of my time! Most of the numbers provided indicated that he only works 4 hours at their location on a periodic basis and that they have NO responsibility for his billing. I finally found a bill from a FABULOUS nurse practitioner who had worked in the same capacity as Dr. Goldman the week before I saw him. I called their billing number and yes, they do bill for Dr. Goldman - at least while he is doing one of his periodic stints at CHOMP. After much hemming and hawing, they told me that they had resubmitted my claim to Medicare on November 3rd. I spoke with Medicare on November 30th, and they told me that the claim had been denied due to a coding problem. I was able to obtain the correct code from Medicare (thank God Medicare negotiates for about 10 cents on the dollar of the billed amount, which for Dr. Goldman's services would be EXCEEDINGLY generous) and wanted to provide it to the 'agent' from his billing office. Well, he had spoken with the 'coding department' and they were in the process of resubmitting the claim - I think that will now be 6 times. However, the agent, who was very nice, could 'neither confirm nor deny' whether they were using the correct code, which I provided to him. I have informed Monterey Bay Observation Medicine (Goldman's sometime-billing office) that, should I receive an invoice for them when I have both Medicare and Supplemental Plan F (time of the line) insurance, I will dispute it to the high heavens. And, should they attempt to ruin my credit score, the wrath of God shall be visited upon them. My entire experience with Dr. Goldman has led me to believe the man should RETIRE!!! To the woman who has been helped in the last year, perhaps he should stick to addiction therapy rather than Emergency Medicine as, based upon my experience, he is NOT well-suited to this type of work. In fact, I plan on having my chart noted that I REFUSE treatment from him! Rather die from natural causes than his intercession.
