Serious Privacy Violations & Unprofessional Staff - Avoid This Office!
I recently moved to the Monterey area and was looking to establish care with new doctors, including an OB-GYN. I came across Dr. Zeidberg's office and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, my experience was beyond disappointing.
At my initial appointment, I was called back by a nurse before seeing the doctor. From the start, she was extremely rude, unwelcoming, and had a noticeably unpleasant attitude. When I explained that I was there to follow up on test results from my previous provider, she reacted in an unprofessional and judgmental manner. When I mentioned my specific diagnosis, she gave me the most disgusted look, making me feel ashamed and uncomfortable.
Things only got worse when I used the restroom before seeing Dr. Zeidberg. The restroom is located not too far from the waiting area, and as I was coming out, I overheard the same nurse openly discussing my diagnosis with the doctor--in front of other patients! This is a blatant violation of patient privacy, and I was completely shocked and humiliated.
Once I finally saw Dr. Zeidberg, she was not as unprofessional as the nurse, but the damage had already been done. She was asking me questions about my menstrual cycle and I was responded with a certain answer. She proceeds with "You can't have children" and made that determination without any procedures or diagnosis. I decided to give the office one more chance and scheduled a follow-up telehealth appointment.
Fast forward a few weeks, and I received a phone call from Dr. Zeidberg herself. However, she never confirmed my identity before proceeding with my results. She immediately told me that my results were in and that "the baby looked healthy." I was completely in shock because I had no idea what she was talking about--I was NOT pregnant! When I told her this, she quickly asked, "Is this [another patient's name]?" and realized she had mixed up patients. This was a horrifying moment, as she had just disclosed another patient's private medical information to the wrong person--an obvious HIPAA violation!
I cannot stress enough how unacceptable and unprofessional this experience was. From the judgmental and rude nurse to the blatant mishandling of confidential patient information, this office made me feel uncomfortable, disrespected, and completely unheard. No patient should ever have to experience this level of negligence and disregard for privacy.
I strongly urge anyone considering this office to think twice before making an appointment. I sincerely hope no one else has to go through what I did. read more
