It can be tough to find a good OB-GYN when you are past your childbearing years. This practice is the nicest doctor's office I have ever seen. Prompt care, clean cozy environment and last but not least great fancy coffee drinks. Not to mention, a fantastic bedside manner from the husband and wife doctor/medical team. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I came here with an urgency/emergency. I had a Bartholin cyst the size of an egg in my "lady bits" that was caused by sloppy post-procedure negligence after a colonoscopy at CHOMP. I HATE CHOMP. Expensive, uncaring, hard to get appointments, patients treated like walking #s and $s, did I mention expensive?!?! We received a, over $13,000 ER bill for a migraine headache! How do an IV and a few shots add up to over 13k? I called CHOMP's OB-GYN dept to make an appointment AFTER I described the hell I was going through (due to their negligence) the Ad Min I was talking to said: "We can get you in the last week of April (it was the 1st week of Dec 2019) if it would help you out." Ugh, did you not hear that I have a cyst that is infected, has had to be drained 2x and the antibiotics are making me violently ill and throwing up?!? My husband lost 2 days of work already and I am living in a hell!!" She told me if it was "bad enough" I should go to the ER!!! I was dumbfounded and asked, "there is NOTHING between waiting months with an infected abscess for MONTHS and grossly expensive ER visits that completely debilitate me?!?" The answer was "No, it is either ER or April. That is ALL we can do." I called another great doctor and small practice, Dr. Terry Franklin's office and they recommended LAiMA. It was 3 days later and due to my 1-star review on Google that a supervisor from CHOMP called me to "help" me get an appointment in a more "timely" way. I told her I already found an amazing practice and that I will not remove my 1 star because it still stands that CHOMP fumbled this and my health. I got in the next day at LAiMA and they quickly came up with a treatment plan. Vlad REALLY LISTENS and wants to work with you rather than talking at you like most doctors do. I told him and his wife "I just feel poisoned." They proactively listen and let me know that they will not blow me off and believe me. When the fluid in the abscess was cultured, it turned out that I was 100% correct that CHOMP caused the cyst because there was e.coli present in the cyst that is usually only present in the large intestine. I now have concrete proof this was caused by CHOMP. It was a very unfortunate way that I discovered this amazing practice but I am SUPER grateful I did. I look forward to being a patient for many years to come. I have already recommended the practice to other women. Normally I would not discuss negative reviews in a positive one but feel I would remiss if I did not point out that people that attack this doctor think that CHOMP has their best interests in mind. They could not be more wrong. First off, CHOMP is a huge, rich and therefore powerful hospital that has a vested interest in eliminating any and all competition. 2nd, IF and only IF there is a shred of truth to their claims, does it not occur to them there might be a good reason he changed hospitals? He HAS to be accountable. He has to follow the law and not disclose things he has seen/experienced and or had patients see/experienced at CHOMP. If he did HE would be guilty of slander and liable. Some times doctors have to save people from themselves. I have "first hand The medical "system" in this country is broken and my recent experience has me grateful that there are still small, private practices like this one serving the community. If CHOMP had it their way, I would be medically tortured for months. The "facts" these neg reviewers cite are nothing short of the legal definition of SLANDER and LIABLE. It is one thing to tell your own story, one is entitled to this especially on this site, but to "recall" what was ALLEGEDLY (they really should look into their legal liability) said by "CHOMP nurses," friends/neighbors and a dentist is not only irresponsible but a tort. It is a good thing that these doctors let their good reviews and happy patients speak for them rather than sue for defamation of character.

The other is that God connected us with a very good doctor. Dr Alexander and his team took good care of me throughout my pregnancy. They made this not so easy journey during a very difficult year a joyful experience for me and my family. We are very appreciative of their knowledge, professionalism and a safe yet very cozy environment they provide. This office also has very friendly and caring staffs and nurses. Their professionalism and patience make every visit a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, we are going to move out of the area. I wish my next OBGYN doctor can be close to Dr Alexande. Dr. Ramseur was the on-call OBGYN at CHOMP who handled my delivery, and I'm glad he was. He was kind and professional, and made me feel comfortable during a very vulnerable time. He gave clear and concise instructions/advice during the delivery, and he also had a subtle sense of humor that I appreciated. There were a couple times during delivery that I became slightly panicked (childbirth is hard!) but Dr. Ramseur eased my worries calmly and skillfully, and helped me re-focus. I'm grateful for his care and expertise that allowed me to have a positive experience.

She reiterated that she supported my body and my decisions many times. We ended up pursuing a c-section because of issues with my first birth and it was such a redeeming experience. She was upbeat and compassionate in the OR, which was similar to the rest of our appointments with her. We won't be having more kids but if we did, I would choose her again. Four stars is only because her schedule does tend to run late, though she told us at our first appointment that it was because she always answers questions fully and gives patients her time/attention. The office is a little cluttered and could use some organizing but everyone was professional. She cares a lot about maternal mental health as well, which I appreciate!

The reasons why I will NEVER go back are listed below in order of least offensive to you've-got-to-be-kidding-me offensive, so read the whole review if you want an honest patient opinion. Firstly, I scheduled an appointment just for regular screening and basic exam. They charge $50 before even seeing you and will NOT see you unless you pay their intake fee. Strange, but okay. Secondly, I arrived for my appointment 15 minutes early (as their million of reminder emails and texts urge you to do) yet I was not even seen for 45 minutes. I don't mind waiting, that's what waiting rooms are for, but nearly an hour after my scheduled time? There were two other women waiting as well, and NOBODY came in to greet us, apologize for the delay, or give any sort of updates. I mean, I rushed straight from work to make this appointment on time since it was the only time slot available, just to sit around for 45 minutes. Thirdly, once I was finally seen by someone it wasn't even the woman I had scheduled my appointment with, but her nurse? I just wanted to get to the bottom of my menstrual issues, as I have had debilitating pain and very heavy bleeding with irregular cycles. I explained beforehand that ischemic strokes run in my family and that I will NOT be taking birth control. My mother actually suffered a stroke due to birth control when she was young, so I already knew my own risks taking it. This nurse continued to push the issue of birth control, arguing that it's the only thing anyone else would recommend, and that I didn't really have any other options for period pain management. I also mentioned to her that I would be getting married soon and wanted to start thinking about having kids, and she shrugged and said I could always get off of it in the future. She was very insensitive, brushed aside my concerns, and pressured me into taking her prescription for birth control (which I declined and left without). Perhaps the worst reason for my disgust at this awful practice was their refusal to do a pap smear due to my still being a virgin. I had NEVER had this issue before at any other practice, but I was told by two separate women that unless I had already had sex, I would be "too tight" and the procedure would be "too painful" to perform. I told them I'm in my mid-20's and have been using tampons since I was 13 and I didn't mind a little pain. I requested to have a pap smear done at least three times throughout this visit and each time they urged me to "get more experience first to help minimize the potential pain and then come back." I KID YOU NOT. They flat out refused to perform a basic pap smear and suggested I go have sex first. I was appalled. I called my fiance crying from the car and we both agreed I would just find a new OBGYN. Disgusting. I wish it ended there, but they continued to harrass me for the measly 20 bucks owed for that appointment in hardcopy letters mailed to my house, text messages through the number I put on my intake paperwork, and calls/voicemails. When I logged in through their portal to pay my copay, it said I was unable to make payments online. When I called, they said I had to come back IN PERSON to make any sort of payment. When I finally had time to drive down there in person, the lady at the front desk said their system was down and they couldn't accept any digital payments due to faulty wifi! I requested to just pay in cash and she ignored me and asked for my contact info to "call you when our system is back up online." She wrote it down on a sticky note and I left. Never got a call from her, but continued to be harrassed with texts, calls and voicemails to pay. No joke, I would get automated voicemails from them anywhere from three to eight times A DAY. Each time I would reply "STOP" and receive a text saying that I was unsubscribed from their text alerts, but the next day it would start all over again. Eventually, I just had to drive back down there and demand to pay in cash. I stapled an envelope with the 20 bucks to the hardcopy notice I had gotten in the mail along with the print-out from their own payment portal that notes they do not accept payment online and left it with the front desk. I blocked their number and hope to wash my hands of this ridiculous place forever.

To me, she is so much more than a physician...she is a friend, a confidant, and a therapist. She is patient, LISTENS to what you say and takes the time necessary for you to feel like you've had a good talk with your doctor! Years ago, I came into the office and was exhausted. I immediately fell asleep in the exam room and knowing that I needed a nap, I was covered with a blanket and left to rest while Dr. Tierney checked in with me several times to see if had had woken up. Best 20 minute nap ever! Now that shows true compassion. She returns calls, reads and responds to e-mails and asks what YOU want to do. This experience was so difficult and we were scared that without proper medical advice, the outcome could have been deathly. I would have happily paid any doctor for life saving advice. During this time, we were not allowed to be seen in any local facility due to the high risks. So, emailing her was something that we will cherish.
