Apologies for the length of this review but infertility is an important issue and finding a Dr to help start a family is serious business...not the same as simply rating a meal or something easy like that.
Dr Ramirez is exceptional at his specialty! Let us tell you why...
My wife has PCOS and, as a result of that, we knew that we would likely need "help' to start a family if natural means didn't produce a miracle. Sure enough, as time passed, nothing came and we needed to find a Dr that would advise and lead us down this daunting road. IVF/IUI - all of it is costly....sure IVF is far more expensive than IUI may be but both will require average income families to plan for this process and insurance, in most cases, dont cover this).
As we were beginning to learn more about the options/costs, we looked into several places for the best care. If you do some homework - just by googling your own infertility experience, there is a HIGH chance you will find a blog with VERy informative information from Dr. Ramirez himself. Go ahead, i challenge you - his blog is huge and he provides a wealth of information on there alone! This fact, combined with reviews (obviously outside of the sabotaged Yelp critics), we went in for a consultation.
At first, we were greeted by Juana - a super-friendly receptionist. Why do i mention this person? Because she is super organized and responsive to your calls. She is also their only receptionist so you instantly begin to see that this is NOT a large place where you are herded in and pushed out - there is specialized care here!
Next, you will likely meet with Elvira. I dont think we can write enough here to express just how exceptionally caring and helpful she has been to us throughout our experience. She will consult with you before the Dr comes in but, because she is is the Office manager and medical assistant, she doesnt just weigh you and tell you to "sit tight". She will talk to you and ensure that your needs/questions/fears are brought to the Dr BEFORE he even sees you. Yes, this is one of those places where the Dr. DOES NOT talk to you "on the fly" or treat you like an average person. Again, infertility is serious stuff and he andhis staff take that to heart.
After meeting the Dr, as you progress through your options, you may likely meet/work with Melissa. She is responsible for the dirty work of finances - one of the MOST stressful part of moving into an IUI/IVF contract. Our experience was painless as she was happy to walk through all of the different options you will be available as you move forward on this journey. One thing that is NOT mentioned here, but i wont go into detail, is that there are "packages" available to you as you think about expenses - something no other place had provided to us. It is an incredibly valuable option because, as you may be aware if you are moving down this journey (as we have), the first time may not be your last time trying.
Finally, before the Dr review himself, there is Karen. IUI and IVF requires a lot of medicine administration and very detailed steps along the way....its quite frightening it first if you dont know all that is entailed...BUT...Karen truly walked us through the entire process and provided us with hands-on training on how I would deliver injections to my wife. She is responsible for the calendar that you will follow every step of the way and is available ALL THE TIME if you have questions.
OK - if this hasn't brought you enough confidence alone to "give them your time", let me talk to you about Dr. Ramirez.
He is a machine!
I mean that in the absolute nicest way. the man is a Dr and Scientist at the same time. He has the highest of standards in ensuring that You are the priority. He is also incredibly honest. You are in a place where you are faced with difficult decisions to start a family - you cannot afford to have information sugar coated. He tells it like it is BUT only after he has fully listened to all of your fears, comments, concerns. He will answer any and all questions (he can) and will provide you with his best assessment for what he thinks, given you scenario is best. For us, he suggested IVF because my wife is 36 and the try IUI would only potentially compromise success of IVF if IUI failed. He didn't "discourage us" as a previous reviewer said, nor did he PUSH IVF - he just provided us with stats and a calendar and let us decide.
We went down the IVF path and we were successful on our first try - Dr Ramirez worked his magic. The surgery center is IN his office downstairs to the care you get here is all-inclusive.
I wish all of you future Families the absolute best and encourage you to give Dr. Ramirez and his amazing team a chance to help you get there. I am an extremely cautious person and i had/have no issue with putting our family future COMPLETELY in their hands - so should you! read more
