She felt that they should have been providing care to her, which was not their job and was extremely resentful of them most of the time. My brother and sister-in-law are difficult to deal with and I do genuinely appreciate the patience and consideration of the Hospice staff. Apparently, after asking me to contact his health care providers regarding his care, he would turn around and remove me from the approved guest list. I am revising my earlier reward and updating my rating for VNA Hospice to a 5/5 stars for their patience and understanding.

When I first started working with them, they were providing about 40 hours a week of companion type care for my dad and then transitioned into 24 hour a day care for the last few months. I know that Julie must be a good manager because every caregiver she sent to our home was amazing. And I know it takes a good person at the top to have so many good employees. Julie was constantly involved and checking in as well. She made me feel like I was her only client when I know that is the furthest from the truth. In addition to providing so much caregiver support, Julie was also a wealth of knowledge and connections, constantly making insightful suggestions. She was someone to call when my dad had to go to the hospital, and she was instrumental in connecting me with other resources as needs arose. I don't know how I would have gotten through the last 2 years without the team at Halo - they were one bright spot in a really difficult time. I wholeheartedly recommend Halo to anyone in need of reliable, compassionate, and the highest quality home health services.

My family and I will forever be grateful to Bridge Hospice Central Coast for the incredible care…read morethey provided to my dad during the last 8 months of his life in our home. Joy, his nurse, was incredibly caring, compassionate, and supportive of my dad's needs. Adriana, his CNA, always bathed him with such gentleness, dignity, and respect. Kyra, his social worker, was also such a blessing. She came not only to support my dad, but also to support my mom and me as we cared for him. Over those 8 months, this wonderful team became more than caregivers to us--they became like family. The morning my dad passed away, Joy and Adriana came to our home and gently bathed and cared for him one last time. That meant so much to our family and is something we will never forget. To the entire Bridge Hospice team, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the love, compassion, patience, and dignity you gave my dad, and for the support you gave our family during one of the most difficult times in our lives. You cared for my dad, but you also cared for all of us. We are forever grateful.

I'm compelled to share my story, so that if you need assistance with a loved one, you know where to…read morego. Unexpectedly, the shift in "sheltering in place" from COVID led me to have to make some pretty quick decisions about how to get care for my Mom. Her therapy appointments were canceled, and she very rapidly lost her ability to walk and became bedridden. I reached out to CCSS when I learned my Dad needed heart surgery, and was under strict instructions not to exert himself in any way (which included caregiving for my Mom) prior to his operation. CCSS came out to assess the home, and made recommendations on equipment and a care schedule for my Mom. They were great with communicating with *me* as well---the adult daughter who does not live with them. When the local fires threatened evacuating my parents from their home, CCSS made calls and located a hospital bed to be delivered within hours to my house as we brought them here to evacuate. As my mother's health digressed, I had no experience coordinating with hospice care, and filing advanced care directives with the appropriate agencies. CCSS has literally helped me every step of the way, with clear communication and compassion as I processed emotionally and mentally the decisions I needed to make with my Dad to ensure my Mom was comfortable. If you're not sure what needs to be done to assist your loved one with the services they need to live comfortably, I highly recommend you reach out to CCSS. It was the best decision I made as our family transitions to new realities in our life.

I had to call them this week because I hadn't heard anything from Bethany. Guess what her excuse was? She had the wrong number! Did she try calling the alternate phone number? The only communication I received after our December 28 meeting with Bethany was a "text" on January 10 saying she hasn't called because she had the "wrong number" was too busy assisting other "seniors" and our CNA was "sick." That's it. I can clearly see why they have a "3 Star" average. Excuse, after excuse after excuse.
