VNA provided care for my brother and tried to communicate with his wife who is experiencing moderate to severe cognitive difficulties. She felt that they should have been providing care to her, which was not their job and was extremely resentful of them most of the time. My brother and sister-in-law are difficult to deal with and I do genuinely appreciate the patience and consideration of the Hospice staff. Apparently, after asking me to contact his health care providers regarding his care, he would turn around and remove me from the approved guest list. I had two of my clients husband and wife on Hospice and the care was AMAZING if we had any issue their care team so amazing. Ruben the patient Coordinator in the office was working a night shift and my patients oxygen machine part broke I called and the answering service connected me to him after 8pm and he delivered the part to my clients home. I had already called 4 places to try to schedule something and between my doctor not providing full paperwork and my location being outside most covered zones, I was feeling frustrated and hopeless that I'd never get help. When I called VNA, Annette took over and while they didn't have an opening for weeks, she called around and found a place that could take me immediately and even forwarded my doctor's orders to them. I called to move my dads schedule around because We were going out of town so I had to cancel my dads appointment and get it scheduled when we got back and the gentleman working in the scheduling department got everything ready for us. Before we hung up he asked if there was anything else he could help me with before we hung up and reassured me that I could call 24/7 if needed. His customer service was amazing he answered the phone after 2 rings. Customer service in a lot of places have gone down but this guy made sure that was not the case. With the threat of meningitis rising, and having never lived in a college dorm situation, I felt the need to go ahead and get vaccinated on my own. My personal physician didn't offer the vaccine, but referred me to the VNA and Hospice. Not that you need a referel! Just call and make an appointment! The RNs are very nice and give you all the information you need. Alicia gave me my vaccines and was a delight! Very easy-going and personable. I don't know if she is the only RN there, but she is the only one I saw and the one I would go back to if I needed a booster or a new immunization. The only downside is that they don't take insurance at the office. But, they do give you a detailed receipt to send along and file a claim yourself. Whenever I plan to travel somewhere exotic, I will definitely come back and see what I need from this place! read more

This is not for the nurses, most of whom were good. PT was professional too. What is absolutely unacceptable from this company is the administration (I am not sure which division this is exactly). They were ok when they came home for wound care, well once I had to ask them not to send a nurse, she was changing my open wound's dressing, and would not change her gloves, I had to tell her to wear or change gloves when she had touched her shoes!. Then they ordered supplies for my wound, which were unrelated to the wound, and my skin would not tolerate. I opened the box. Once able, I called the supply company to get it back. They did not want to talk to me, they said we only talk to VNA who has placed the order. In the meantime, they charged my insurance company for the suppliers, and copay for me. I have been trying to contact someone at VNA to resolve this issue, one supervisor/nurse said she would talk to the person who ordered, and will call me back, never did. I called back and she was never "available". I received another statement from the supply company for something I never even received. I called and asked for a supervisor who gave the name of the person who ordered supplies. This person talked to me, and said she would look into it and will call me back the next day, and i have been waiting for a call since last week. I called twice, and this person was "busy", "unavailable", or in a meeting. How rude and unprofessional can a person be? Extremely unprofessional, if you say I will call, call. If you do not want to respond, then say so instead of ordering the wrong supply and have the patient pay for it too. read more

Terrible experience with these people with an extremely poor bedside manner in attempting to " comfort" us with a stage 4 cancer diagnosis with, according to our oncologist is treatable. These people literally had a grave dug for my husband even before we had a definitive diagnosis! Their visits were like inviting the Grimm Reaper in for a visit. Sheesh! These people need lots more training in dealing with cancer patients under these traumatic circumstances. With just a few visits they did so much harm than good in reversing the positive affirmations that I have been filling my husband's mind with to battle this cancer diagnosis. These people prepare you for death instead of preparing you for hope that you can overcome this illness and see light at the end of the tunnel. They themselves don't believe in cancer treatment and prepare you for death. No thanks! They are not Drs and can't write off our loved ones. I tried hard to reverse the DAMAGE that they did to our home but it is very hard once that seed of death is planted in the cancer patient's brain. I have to now work twice as hard to get my husband back to a hopeful and positive place in his mind! 1/2 of cancer treatment is a positive attitude. These people crushed ours! Be sceptical of them. We live with HOPE not pessimism! God bless all of you fighting this disease! Don't let some callous, jaded idiot steal your hope, dreams, prayers and wishes to overcome cancer and live MANY MORE YEARS! We are living in 2020 and brilliant Drs are making incredible PROGRESS in combating this disease! Noone is hopeless and we are in the hands of GOD! BELIEVE!!!!! Please take their advice with a grain of salt because they are so insensitive as to how they deliver their "care". The experience with them was CHILLING! read more

The VNA was assigned to take care of my Mother after a long stay in the hospital and a skilled nursing facility. I was terribly disappointed that it took so long before anyone contacted us to get her care started (6 days after discharge!). Once visits began, I found that her nurse was very rude, condescending, and unreliable. I had to call and ask VNA NOT to send this nurse again, due to her demeanor toward members of our family. When they sent a new nurse, there seemed to be little difference in her attitude. Communications was poor. The same questions were asked on every visit regarding what medications she was taking, and what her living status was, (they kept recording that she lived alone, which was incorrect), even after the information was "corrected" over and over again! I would not recommend this agency to anyone! They seem to have a "lock" on the area because most people don't know there are alternatives. We later contracted Good Life Home Care after later stay in the hospital. The care my Mother received from this group was the total opposite of what VNA provided. They were courteous, respectful, kept impeccable records, and care began the SAME DAY my Mom was discharged! read more

On May 2 2019 I had total knee replacement on my left knee . The first two weeks are very critical to physical therapy and getting your range of movement back . I was very fortunate to be have a Physical therapist come to my house right after surgery to help me. The first visit from Central coast VNA was very rewarding, I feel blessed to have the Physical therapist that was assigned to me Tim Prrozzdi . The very first visit when he came in he was very pleasant professional and very knowledgeable with my condition. All of the exercises we did together really helped me and gave me the goals my doctor expected. Tim Gave me the right exercises to do and goals and any questions I had , He gave me the correct answers and tips , his encouragement is what kept me going, Our last session I was thinking in my mind I'm going to miss Tim , but I know I now have to move forward to out patient therapy and that I happily report is doing very well . Went here to get my immunizations for nursing school here. Friendly staff, but the confusing appointment system. Although, once a patient, it becomes more clear on who to talk to. I took one star off because, although my insurance is accepted at this location, for some reason they won't go through the legwork of sending the paperwork through for a claim. I've had to submit the claims myself. MOre work is always less-desireable! read more

My husband was going to be travelling to Brazil on business & had heard about the breakout of yellow fever there. After googling online about where to get more information on it, I found the VNA here in Monterey. It said on the website they also offer travel immunizations. I made my husband an appt for the next day. He said the nurse took over an hour with him researching the area he was going to in Brazil, what field of work he was doing, and what vaccines were recommended. She also went through some "do's & Don'ts with him." Gave him a prophylactic antibiotic pack in case he got sick & a spray to spray all his clothes with to prevent mosquitoes. He was able to get the needed vaccines minus the yellow fever vaccine which unfortunately, due to the shortage can only be gotten in San Francisco right now. She was able to set him up with an appt there to get the vaccine though. Only downsides to the clinic is that it can be hard to find. Ryan ranch has a lot of buildings that look similar. He was able to ask a security guard though that showed him. Other downside was it was pricey. $350 for 3 vaccines, the clinic visit & antibiotic. I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone travelling out of the country! read more

terrible. left hospital only to have vicodin at home with a very sick and in pain relative. morphine was justified but by the time they brought it ,he died instantly from too much vicodin( thats all chomp/ vna gave ) in the system on top of the morphine they brough a day later. for a faster agonizing death call them! read more
